i went for a 2 hour bike ride up Bredon Hill with a couple of mates several hours before my wedding!
my sister in law kept on insisting that the bride have a spray tan before the wedding (she never had one before, and will never have one again) and that is the only thing that i mentioned in my speach – that it has helped me decide what colour to do the fence !
as i was the driver to the hotel after the reception i didn't drink alcohol but i did drink gallons of tea that never came out the other end; so drink loads so that you don't get dehydrated.
Finally do enjoy the wedding night; i did and nine months later we have just had a baby boy who is a real star 🙂

of all the above "advice" on this thread the only one that i would listen to is Drac's; even though i'm sure that all the other fully qualified medical practitioners advice listed on the thread is very good!

i suppose it all depends whether you are near to your local A+E and like the taste of charcoal?

bunnyhop – you have made a tired old git smile – thank you
i do intend to have a one day tirade (sp?) on here and see how many threads i can add pointless, random, innane (sp?) and cheeky comments on.

blackhound – take titanium to the road alps and watch out for chubby cyclists wearing red lycra tops that are 3 sizes too small.

take a note of the time and the person you spoke to; even if you don’t confirm anything in writing you build up documentry evidence if you have to go to Ofgem.
i believe that the power company have to reasonably prove your consumption so don’t automatically agree to anything (unless the offer to wipe the slate clean).

joe – the caterer would have to prove loss and expense to recover these reasonable costs; from my limited knowledge the caterer could not be able to claim for potential return on any other function he “may” have secured if he hadn’t accepted this booking. hence, requesting a breakdown of costs would be fair.
most things are negotiable and the caterer has provided an initial offer of settlement for the breach of contract that is lower than his normal terms (and i doubt it is made ‘without prejudice’) 😉

    best of luck Ian,
Utility companies are the bain of my life!
My old house was unoccupied for 6 months and got hit by the Gloucestershire floods in July 07, consequently the gas meter stopped working, but gas was still being supplied and it wasn’t for another month until i found it had stopped. Basically i spent 6 months arguing with Npower about my gas usage and because no-one was living there it couldn’t be estimated on the basis of previous use. The customer services were no help; the energy advise group were no help; it was only when i refered the case to Ofgem did it get resolved within 7 days.
My advise is to speak to an Ofgem adviser to assist.
i did have a client in a new house that the gas supplier had no record of the connection and they came to a mutual agreement of payment for 12 months of un-invoiced supply.

Cynic-al – curious as to why tinker-belle is incorrent with saying that if a cancellation term hasn’t been agreed why they would they be forced to pay anything?
in harsh terms if feenster resisted any claim for loses then the cost of the caterer persuing the claim may outweigh the return and they could choose to write off the cost.
please note that i am not condoning this morally incorrect route!

Feenster – i hope things work out good for you and your fiancee.

TJ – most of the blokes invited have swung a 12 bore before, its only a new activity for a couple, so it more like a social rather than new event day.
if i do a mtb ride only 4 mates ride (and not very far).
can’t think of much else to do ….any suggestions?

i don’t mind if people say no because of the cost/activities.
i said no to a weekend that included golf and an afternoon at aintree because i don’t do either and would spoil it for the regular players/punters.
its just the reaction from a couple of mates have said yes straight away and one said he needed to get back to me on it.

i’ve got ceramic ones on the superlight and on a road bike.
tbh they dont seam any smoother than xt/ultegra, nor do they improve shifting; but they do look nicer.
longevity? i’ve had them for about a year with no problems, but then i Never had probs with shimano.

i’m not much help, am i?
