I think a lot of American working practice stems from the fact they can be sacked with no payout anyday anytime. This leads to crazy hours and a devotion to the corporate mission. Also they tend to be quite religious…what I hate most that as buyers they tend to seek huge amounts of info, engage in very lengthy discussions with no intention to actually buy….

Interesting point made above about support. Froome seems to need a team around him shepherding him to the finish, yet contador does not….contador to win…

Reading between the lines it seems that Cookson is making sure he has a cast iron legal case. He is following due process. The last thing he needs is for any sanction to be challenged in the courts.

Bought a used Honda off a dealer. Came with a Honda warranty. 11 months later cylinder head cracked. The warranty paid out over £3k worth of work. Perhaps the official dealer ones are better than the aftermarket…

If the car has an electronic handbrake, the rear pad change may be have its complications.

A spoke went on my ultegra rear wheel. Spoke was 6 quid, but you also need a new nipple to hold it in the hub which is sold separately and a tool to tighten the odd size nipple up. Needless to say, once fixed i sold them on and bought more serviceable wheels. I also didn’t like the cone and cup bearings it took an age to get them just right with no play.

You have to remember its not just driver against driver…each driver has thier own team within the team to maximise performance, i would imagine that this provides real support. Also to get to this level they eould be very mentally tough slready

How did wiggo think he was gonna win? In classics you have to attack and make it stick, he wasn’t aggressive enough. Real shame Thomas had a crash, in the same position as wiggo he would have made a real go of it.

What is really odd about this case is that the man convicted of the murder who I think pled guilty has never given evidence under oath in court with regards to Knox and sollecito, why was he never called to either refute or confirm their involvement?

Huge coincidence that the rapid descent started whilst the pilot was locked out. The plane was on cruise, so something catastrophic and unrecoverable happened in that short space of time.

Plane took off 8.55 GMT, distress call issued 9.47GMT, looks to be way off course

Around the key climbs you can follow the race in car and see it seversl times culminating with the crescendo at geraadsbergen. Seen a lot of races but never seen pro riders try so hard and suffer up there. Great weekend

I’m with the chinese crowd but….use a known rim manufacturer like carbonal, and have them handbuilt in UK with good quality spokes…I can recommend Spokesman……Then use the difference on a cycling holiday!

Did a 4 hour one, actually very useful. Early on, a bloke fell asleep in the course and the instructors went beserk, virtually threatening to march him to the local police station, everyone was quite a bit more attentive after that. Also a few people were late and were almost excluded. Just like being back at school!

Lived there for a couple of years. The feste is full of late nights and lots of locals enjoying themselves but the live music ain’t great. Visit the cycling museum in oudenarde run by Freddie maartens and from there the route of the tour of Flandersis waymarked, well worth a ride. Oh and there is a bar in the square that will ask you for a shoe as a deposit if you order a certain expensive beer ( the glass it comes in is unique). Lots of micro breweries in the outlying villages as well..
    Have fun!

Agree about the track day, although do one where there is loads of run off like Bedford or donington and get an instructor for a few laps. This will transform your confidence. Also tyres are important you need good, sticky progressive break away rubber.

Other factors are more important than the material itself. I have a Yeti Arc., I have used in in xc races, 100 miles in one day and the dyfi. It’s the best bike I have owned, including carbon, spec fs etc. Imho the most important factor on comfort and performance is bike fit. Oh and clothes are important too…

At about the 70 mile mark you will be craving
A comfortable saddle and a super light bike to get up the incessant hills if its the sdw.comfort is less rolling mass.

I have an BSc and MSc in psychology. I started it as it sounded interesting became disillusioned with the career choices. A day in wormwood scrubs with a prison psychologist didn’t help! IMO its regarded as many as a pseudo science….if you want it to lead you to a particular role then be sure that is what you want to do…..

I had an accord type r with vtec, it was too much all or nothing. A good idea for the s2000 might be to buy the hondata ecu and remap it so that the vtec is more progressive?

Best option is to go custom. I just got a carbon set from spokesman wheels for about 550, v good quality and long warranty. One overlooked advantage of custom is that the parts are easily available, contrast that with magic or Shimano parts and service costs.

I’ve been a wearer for 34 years! Cycling in lens vs glasses is soooo much better. Currently using the Oasys disposables which give you 2 weeks per pair. They correct for astigmatism and for reading! Very comfortable as they very ‘wet, and give me perfect vision.

I pay £21 per month for 4 pairs in the boots scheme, which posts them out and has free annual checkups etc

I agree somewhat with the op. Whats the point of the huge effort and cost to go and see a band when the music is badly mixed and the band don’t move a muscle. eg Ryan Adams, better to stay at home….on the other hand when the band are really entertaining, sound high quality, small venues then it can be magical…stranglers, levellers, lucinda williams, black rebel motorcycle club….

Take any booze with you, or buy it in duty free. Alcohol is incredibly expensive and everything else is roughly x2 or x3 what you would pay in UK. That said, its a beautiful friendly clean efficient country…enjoy
