I have both front and rear, best mudguards I’ve had. For me it’s simple, they don’t look great but i’d much rather be dry (and warmer) on a 5 hour Winter MTB than without. I ride more because of that and after all that’s what’s its all about…..,

^^thanks for that. I’ve always wanted to ride in Norway. The whole thing looks good even if you have to carry 3.5kg to represent a baby!!

Loire. Beautiful route along the river, with Chateaus and great wines. Very flat!

Another option, marantz pm6006, its got an optical input for TV, remote control, great sound. Why not buy s/h? Hifi doesn’t really degrade over time or usually suffer from wear and tear…

Yes. T2D is reversible with a very low calorie diet (800 calories per day approx) taken for 8-12 weeks and then followed by the reintroduction of a healthy food diet.

You’d be looking for something like 15kg weight loss. Unless T2D is treated serious health implications could arise.

Why is it that they can cut down so much timber. Yet the rest of the country has TPO on one tree in their garden.

I guess the FC are earning money off the timber? Nant and Afan are ruined.

I always sell privately. What I do is to get the buyer to sign the ‘sold as seen no warranty’ document downloaded from AA, to insure no messing about post sale.

I swapped. Runflats have very stiff sidewalls which on bmw wheels often lead to cracks in the alloy wheels. After I experienced this issue twice I’ve got new non-bmw wheels and also carry a spare on longer journeys.

Swapping to non rft made a big difference to the ride quality, and less road noise.

Did the driver not have working headlights? Doesn’t matter if mike had on black clothes and no lights. Driving without  due care and attention!

Just come back from the ratrace coast to coast Scottish thing. A cross bike would be fine. It’s expensive, but the vibe is a challenge one not a race one, so great atmosphere and friendliness all along route and especially at campsite.

If riders are doping in the Vuelta , what are they on, given the advances in testing? Or is the testing not robust in Spain?

I’ve got a relatively new Boardman 29 pro. It came with Sram guide r’s. I thought they were ok until I discovered yesterday that 3 out of the 4 pistons in the front calliper are seized. Also the bleed process seems to be a massive faff. Not sure whether to try and fix or just bin and get some deores, which in previous experience are just brilliant.

One other advantage of using a phone is you can play podcasts. So on long trips I’m alternating between spotify, tunein, and podcasts. Virtually unlimited entertainment👍

An alternative you might want to consider is to get the TUNEIN app on your phone and then either Bluetooth or aux cable it to your head unit. Yes it uses data, but you get unlimited stations and the quality is really good.

IME the legal advice you get will contain caveats, all cases have risks. Even the mere threat of legal action should make you stop and think. You could stand to lose more than 3 months salary not only ithr legal costs but in sleepless nights and your own reputational damage.

My first one, loved the closed roads and relatively flat course which meant you can hammer most of it. But what a hassle having to go to the excel the day before and then make your way back to Stratford after the mall finish. They could easily post out the numbers etc Not doing it again cos of the faff, the expense and basically taking up the whole weekend.

Can’t help but feel it losing its way again. Lack of same driver battles each race. Somehow the weight ballast rules, and the mysterious turbo boost adjustments has contributed to stale races. The track selection doesn’t help, why go to a track like brands Indy where it has limited overtaking possibilities? And finally what the hell has happened to Jason Plato??

I’ve got an older 335d and re-mapping transformed the car, no turbo lag, instant throttle response etc £400 very well spent.

New reports suggest they’ve found a way in from the top that gets to within 200m, and Elon musk has offered his boring equipment! On the minus side they are also saying too many rescuers are depleting the available air for the boys. Following this closely.

I love listening to millar, because he has first hand knowledge of many of the riders and an great understanding of tactics as well as being articulate he adds so much to the usual cycling commentators  who usually just tell you what you can see on the screen!

I know of a couple of riding buddies who have each set up kitchen installation businesses and are doing well. So rather than work as a contractor, you could sell your services direct to the vast numbers of people who cannot move house but want to re-furb. Not saying it’s not a crowded marketplace but it can be done.

Just built a lovely set of velocity a23 rims, dt spokes and novatec hubs. Well within your price range and easily serviceable unlike most factory built wheels.

Bad day for Yates. Where was Chavez when he was needed to help him right at the end? In post race interview Yates looked angry and was in a ” bring it on” mode so hopefully he’s still on form and needs the very steep climbs to extend his lead.

What is wrong with Froome? Not enough training? Surely Sky, with all their metrics, would know he would be weak? Or was there appearance money paid so they had to turn up? Very strange. In all the grand tours he’s competed in in recent years he’s looked peerless.

Amazing result for Yatesey! But how much has it taken out of him? His team need to protect him now from all the inevitable attacks in the mountains, expect him to ride defensively now!

What an exciting race, Yates is so impressive, I really thought he’d gone too early at around 17km to go, just shows how good he is both tactically and also his power output in last 5 kms. Doesn’t matter if he wins race or not now, he’s established himself as one of the best GC riders. Is he riding tdf or the vuelta?
