Anyone hazard a guess on the effectiveness of such a repair? I know nothing about these boats but avidly following race. I saw that the hull make have broken due to the hull slamming down as it was foiling. In which case a repair on this area will have to be at least as good as it was previously to continue??? Is this possible with a bit a glue and carbon sheet??

Previous owner of 2 x BMW e91 335d here. Agree with most thats been said. I’d buy another. I did 150K in last one. They eat miles in comfort and safety. Never, ever, go to a BMW dealer, find a local independent. Recommend to get rid of the run flats. There are bits and pieces that go wrong most of which can be fixed at home except that is for the DPF, which I got cleaned out rather than replaced and it was fine. Never let me down. Not great in snow but winter tyres would sort that. BMW diesels respond well to remaps. Many helpful forums for DIY.

After years faffing around with cheap Chinese sourced lights, today I have taken delivery of a light set from MTB batteries. Quality batteries and good after-market service was the clincher. Just don’t ride enough on the MTB in the dark to justify an Exposure light.

Interested in this, can anyone tell me how to keep up with the race and where any video content might be? TIA

As above sounds like you have over loaded the drivers. You can probably get some cheaply on eBay or an equivalent from wilmslow audio.

An accelerating body is more stable than a decelerating one, so if you are losing speed freewheeling it will be more unstable.

PSA….the cheap Argos DFF are in scarce supply. Just now, it said they weren’t available for home delivery so I think they may only have store stock. Managed to get one and looking forward to joining the putoline elite….

Just come back from campsite near Castlemartin. Quick tips…..visit Angle beach, avoid Tenby at all costs, The tapas bar in Narberth is closed. Pembroke castle is awesome. Book evening meals in advance, its very busy. the cafe van on Freshwater west beach does amazing crab rolls.

Should get a law passed to print names and postcodes on all takeaway food and dog poo bags. Then get one of those vicious private car park operators to enforce and prosecute. That’d help!

Just returned from the gower! I did the 2 day loop from bike packing.com. Didn’t see a soul on the most of the trails. The beaches especially Rhossili were super busy. Nice place, nice pubs and friendly locals.

Not sure, guessing that their main revenue is selling/leasing aircraft engines. The vibe I get is that many large corporations, and I work for one, are reconsidering ways of working and I would expect this to result in significantly less international business travel. therefore less demand…..might be better to invest in a fund that has RR investments then you have spread the risk….

I’ve done this on an Audi. A lots been said already but easily done if you are methodical. In my case I purchased a set of plastic trim tools, which have been invaluable since and bought a new sharp drill for the rivets, made all the difference. I also pulled out the old unit to get the right part number before ordering just to make absolutely sure I had the right one! the most important thing is to give yourself time, it might take 30 mins it might take 4 hours….

I think he recovered from the crash, got training and then the Ineos sports science people tested his numbers and it wasn’t where it needed to be and said he could leave, he then goes for last payday and to win a few stages.

History largely shows that to win the tdf you need a whole team of talent not just one person, Ineos have it, his new team don’t.

What are people’s thoughts on Dumfries area? Good MTB, close to Lake District but not so far north to be isolated from family? Looked at property prices and compared to darn Sarf it looks good value.

I use my roam for road and MTB. At first I thought i would miss the detail of the OS maps, but for the most part i am using pre-planned routes which have been built on OS maps, but in reality the map is cleaner and more helpful. Overall, the roam is excellent, no nonsense and unlike the Garmin is utterly reliable.

They must have forgotten that they form part of the opposition to elected government. They will now become totally irrelevant as Labour reclaim the middle ground.

I had similar issue. Had to buy a SRAM DUB BB, to go with a new SRAM crank. I’ve got all manner of BB tools and assumed one would fit. Oh no but wait, not SRAM DUB. Then had to spend another £30 on a blimmin’ BB park tool, I’ll use probably 4 times. It IS a ploy to sell more tools, with the companies assuming that once you’ve bought a tool you will stay with that standard. Same with brake bleeding kits!

A timely thread, I have the same dilemma, and after some intensive interweb research I am going for the Zees. Actually difficult to find UK stock. I want a Uk supplier in the case of warranty issues, but lots of retailers OOS. Any recommendations?

My other question is about pads, in the past i’ve blindly chosen sintered pads, what are the best pads for zees, as I assume if they come with pads they will be those ones that last 5 mins?

Just had one done in Derby. Make sure they mask up all threads and internal surfaces. BTW very happy with RAL7015 :)

At some cost, I can confirm that the SRAM 12 speed will not work with Shimano. The chains are different roller lengths. you will need an axs compatible 12 speed chainring which are few and far between with shimano bcd’s. I ended up with a new crankset :(

I love the Etap, silent, never goes put of adjustment, beautiful changes especially the front.

Yeah, wholeheartedly agree. The Raspberry PI with (in my case) a Justboom DAc and a spotify premium account does away with the need to rip CD’s. (The volumio software is free. I’m very fussy about sound quality and this is an amazing system. Listening to Sabbath bloody Sabbath right now!

I ran a Cotic roadrat with alfine, flat bars and mudguards as a commuter over a hilly route. The draggyness didn’t bother me as much as the rear weight bias and the faff of getting the wheel out and back in the case of a puncture. Come the end of a working day I didn’t want to feel like I was fighting the bike on the way home, and scared of a puncture in the dark with frozen fingers.

A real loss. It was him that made the difference to their sound. At their best they were like the doors with beautiful Organ sounds. The difference with the stranglers was his sound and the great songs they made. My mate at school played me Dagenham Dave and I was hooked. Very very good live too.

The problems I experienced with the 1030 over 18 months of ownership led me to sell it and buy a wahoo element roam. No doubting the hardware but the software is problematic, namely losing the link with smartphones, and apple laptops necessitating a reboot and inputting all settings again. The wahoo has in the last 3 months, proved faultless and a pleasure to own.

There is a parallel here to the Sky case. In both cases an official from a public body UK athletics or British cycling was involved in managing supplements for individual professional athletes. All the fees these bodies get from your weekend warriors and instead of spending money on the grassroots it goes towards funding posts to fluff up a few pros. Fuming.

I’m new to noise cancelling Bluetooth headphones but a new train commute forced my hand. I bought the Sony XM3, nothing short of amazing. They envelope you in a world of silence or music and make journeys less tiring. Very long battery life too.

I read somewhere that defamation cases in USA are much harder to win because of the ‘free’ speech constitution. It maybe a different story in the UK courts though.

Lived in a very small Belgium village for a while. They had a vending machine that sold warm bread. Actually super useful!
