tm, could it be the time of year? all those tourists on the road means it could take hours extra to get around…

    best of luck anyway..

i live near it at bishopbriggs and quite like riding along it with the kids etc. The Stables is good for a pint and the pub at auchinstary (sp) is ok as well.

Or heading the other way turning off at maryhill and going down the river kelvin into the west end is pretty handy as well. there can be some puddles etc but they wont kill you…

i dont about the road closure but depending on where it is you could always go to kilsyth and then go over the ‘tak me doon’ road which brings you out at the hotel.

yeah i dont think you will regret getting one. we have the 5m one which is palatial. I also recommend the inner that makes the two bedrooms as it makes it a bit warmer for scottish summer camping. My kids also love to play their ‘bedroom’ when its raining. Its expensive but we have had a lot of use out of it. No trouble with pitch sizes anywhere either. i tend to abandon it for a few days in the garage to dry before rolling it away.

    thanks all.

i’ll probably get a tow bar fitted at some point but it will usually be needed to tow. Only need to get 2 bikes and some kiddie stuff on the rack so i am not too worried about the weight.

the vw one looks the tidiest but its expensive.

    Cheers

piha, what sort of discount from list could you roughly expect from the ‘right’ garage on a new kombi?

i have been looking at used but if the price was good then maybe new would be the way forward.

    Cheers

try s1jobs for a bit more of a regional site than jobserve, cwjobs etc.

wouldnt recommend any particular agent just go with any that have real jobs.

kirroughtree is worth the extra time to get there. also drumlanrig would give you another nearby option.

i like AE and have never done dalbeattie so cant compare. Check what forestry work is on at AE that might help you decide.

i used to do stewarton to west of scotland science park (top of maryhill road) took about an hour going back road to neilston – crookston – paisley road west – clyde tunnel – balshagray avenue – switch back. it was ok but clyde tunnel could be a nightmare. quite fun on my motorbike though. glad i dont live there anymore. handy for the coast though.
