106 diesel or saxo type car they will do 65 to the gallon and you may be able to pick up a cheap low mileage one,run it into the ground then bin it and get another one, do not buy anything new as you will be doing 25000 miles a year and you will render it worthless in a short period of time.reliability should not be too much of an issue if you have a decent second car you can use if needed

If your English he is British till he loses then he is Scottish.
If your are Scottish he is Scottish if he wins or loses (we can handle losing as we have had plenty experience that the football team has kindly given us)

I personally would rather that if someone was driving like a dick they would be in front of me where i could keep my eye on them. Also the speeding up on the straights reminded me of coming back from Skye behind a Saab that slowed down to 40 on bends that could be safely taken at 60 then accelerating out of the bends and doing 60 on the straights (not much fun in a zx1.9 diesel non turbo) the car could shift round corners but had no acceleration to speak of.(and I do not think the driver was trying to piss me off I just think he was a shit driver or his Saab was as bad at handling as mine was at accelerating).

(Rugby was my passion for many years. Still play a bit but just for fun now. Unfortunately an 18 stone prop doesn’t go up hills quickly! )

Where I stay all the rugby parks are more or less flat

He should have put a lot more effort into cuffing her and taking her a run down the station. (then they could have kicked her head in and said she fell)

My son was being picked on at school with two boys in his class, pulling his bag, trying to trip him up,name calling etc. He did not want us to speak to the school so I told him the only way he would sort it would be to sort the boys out (go for the big one) next day in school he gets a plastic bottle thrown at him, so he punched the big guy a couple of times and got caught by the headmaster. I got called to the school and told the headmaster that I had told him to do it and he said(unofficially)it was probably the best way forward. He got his detention next day as he was already told he was getting that before I went down (fair enough). And the two in his class never even looked at him the wrong way after that.

    Njees post
‘I just don’t see how you can make any progress on the pavement, and having ridden thousands of miles on the roads of Surrey I don’t really see what the problem is!

I’d very happily push a cyclist off if I was walking along the pavement and they came too close, strikes me as very similar to the whole thing about smacking cars that get too close. If they’re close enough to shove, they’re too close. Simples’

I do not think the use of the words very happily helped your post much do you njee?

I think some people on here forget that the UK has very different road/ pavement conditions depending on where you live. For instance I do not think it would be a good idea to ride on a pavement in London. However if I am riding to my favourite riding spot I can easily ride for a mile on the pavement without meeting someone and only one or two kerbs to bump up and down ( a lot safer than going on a 60 zone that has a few bends and solid double white lines. So in summary it is okay in some places but obviously not in others.

I think riding on the pavement is dependant on where you live. I personally live somewhere that if I ride to work on the pavement ( 5 miles) 2 on pavement the chances are very slim I will meet anyone, if however I use the road I am then playing with a lot of traffic that is doing 60 mph and possibly not paying as much attention as they should. Bottom line is you know your commute then you are the best placed person on here to decide what to do irrespective of all the holier than thou you are not allowed to ride on the pavement so therefore do not do it brigade. IMHO
