I think now the dust has settled a bit that the tories that wanted clown back in are starting to realise that he would probably wreck the party from inside. Even the right wing press that have supported him are acknowledging that, although I still suspect he will want to go forward and try and have another crack at being PM.

I was told by a mechanic not to do the final tightening or initial loosening as the ratchets do not last well under a lot of pressure (load), but great for running nuts up the thread. I have the halfords ones and the seem pretty good

I watched the news at 6.00PM last night and they seemed to have little difficulty in finding plenty of regular folks to vox-pop who expressed that they wanted to see a return of Johnson to PM

Maybe the BBC are showing these people so the MPs watching think thats what us plebs want and so give it to us, then the party that keeps threatening to defund them goes into the electoral abyss

She will look back on her days when she was burying the queen as her best days in office, it really was off the cliff edge after that.

I am not in favour of a GE just now, I honestly think the tories need to do their winter of discontent as it will keep them out a lot longer, the voting public are not that switched on so will remember who was in charge when their life went tits up and lets face it the worst is still to come irrespective of who is in. The only fly in that ointment is how much more damage can they inflict on the country in the meantime.

Does anyone else think the right-wing press wanted her in knowing she would fail (in a year or so) and then try and sell the tories Bozo again, though she has failed spectacularly quicky that this would not now be a feasible plan. This could also be why they are so desperate to still clear Bozos name from misleading parliament. Anyway aside from the current damage to the country it is great watching them fight like rats in a sack.

I don’t think everyone that voted Leave is/ was a racist.

No but every racist did vote Brexit.

I have a 2020 estate SEL (LED lights, bigger alloys and suede leather (faux) interior) mine is the diesel so cannot comment on engine. Re dogs I have 2 labs and if you do not want a grill at back seat there is anchor points each side of tailgate that you could tether a dog to.
Edit to avoid confusion it is the older 2017-2020 model I have, not the current one.

I think most campsites are doing less tourers etc and concentrating on selling statics as there appears to be more money less hassle.

My mate had this tried on with him the last time he was abroad (basically he had the relevant insurance and they were trying to foist the same level of insurance he didn’t need on him)

I think to make out Bozo would be missed in Scotland would be one whopper too much for them (and they have told some whoppers)

Watch from 10 minutes in then search the next one, IF it has a camshaft with lobes pressed on then new camshaft could sort it. he also shows how to check for possible valve damage

I was in Ballater last year and this guy drives into the campsite in his Bentley then gets in a huge motorhome starts the engine and all the sides push out. It did beg the question did his man drive the motorhome up and he took the bentley and why did he not just book a hotel as I don’t really see how he was actually camping in the motorhome.

In Falkirk we have a strava section along the canal called jakeys paradise (where you regularly get locals drinking) it also has a couple of plaques there for their friends who have passed away long before their time. Regularly see Herons and swans too (but mainly jakeys)

I have not seen one comment regarding reporting a dog bite to the police in this whole thread, owner of 2 dogs here but surely if you can identify the dog/ owner then that is the way to go, they only put up with so many dog bites before action is taken and if they are stupid enough not to muzzle the offender after the first warning then more fool them.

Does it need to be 4×4 or do you just think you need one, 4×4 seriously reduces your choice of a lot of vehicles

I drove Glentress to Falkirk (52 miles) with bike in car (2020 Octavia estate 1.6 diesel manual) gently on acceleration and braking, at 62 mp/h max the trip average was 76mpg. I had previously thought max speed made not much difference to mpg (in a diesel car anyway)

Re disclock , son has advised apparently they cut the arm off the disclock (ford st owner) and spray expanding foam inside the disclock (drive with disclock on) best security would be buy something they don’t want to steal (skoda and citroen owner myself) shit but thats modern UK for you.Albeit it will slow them down

How do Esso guarantee the synergy supreme 99+ to be ethanol free when Bp, shell etc don’t?

    From the Esso website
Although our pumps have E5 labels on them, our Synergy Supreme+ 99 is actually ethanol free (except, due to technical supply reasons, in Devon, Cornwall, North Wales, North England and Scotland)

Maybe down south the fuels come from specific refineries but a large part of the country just gets the generic fuel from the local refinery

    falkirk-mark

Normally I go for BP but they are becoming rarer nowadays and Esso is springing up all over.

It is pretty much the same stuff you are buying as there are only a few refineries in the UK (I work in the Ineos one but how many Ineos petrol stations are there) Yet that refinery supplies pretty much all of Scotland and some northern England, Anyone who tells you BP supreme is better than Esso supreme is talking sh1t3

what sort of mpg improvment occured over those 3 decades?

    My MPG has doubled, 1978 Mk2 1300 escort 30mpg, 2020 1.6 diesel octavia 60mpg
but then again a lot are not driving something comparable to when they started driving

Johnson winning a VONC might actually be a blessing in disguise for anyone who want’s to see the conservative party gone for a good number of years

I think the tory party are going to struggle with their identity anyway they will try to hold on to their red wall seats after the workers realise they are getting shafted, the older blue rinse brigade are dying off and some tory voters with a sense of decency will be put off.

Have fines actually been issued.? A brief google didn’t give me a definitive answer so if you have a source for that.?

I did think that as I have no idea what the charge would be , not liking the PM that will be millions guilty then.

Re the Scottish seperatists, if the Little Englanders hadn’t foisted the clown on us probably there would be less of an appetite for Scottish independence. Bozo in charge is the main reason I would vote independence as would a good few people I know. But I suppose 78 year old Joyce from Tring will believe all the shite she reads in that rag
