    My point exactly…

How visible…is a matter of opinion.

Anyone have experience of using one mounted on a saloon?

The 'notubes' website is no good so don't waste your time.

Grease up the tyre, put the wheel on the floor and push down on the side of the rim you have already fitted the bead in to whilst you fit the opposite tight side.

Use the minimum of force you can get away with, using either thumbs or levers.

The shock looks OTT size-wise fot it's travel.

What is the attraction of the Curnutt shock btw?

mattp – don't take this he wrong way but you can't do that in the middle of nowhere.

    Try grease or vaseline even..

"Not to 'U-Turn'" is my answer for the following reasons:

Less to go wrong and 150mm is an ok amount of travel to climb with without too much front-end lift, not to mention descend with! 😀

    Well said 'yeti guy'

I know 7 people who have 5s and they love them and have had them for years.

I know one person with a 160 'Alpine' and he loves that too.

I don't believe there is anything in price so the 160 should get you a smidge more exclusivity.

My advice would be if you have more than one bike, then get the 160, if it's to be your only bike, then i'd go for the 5 but GS said, there'll be no disappointment either way.

I think what 'ScottCheg' is saying is that he wants it to develop a in to trail-centre rather than a "skill-center"…

    It's definitely what I want for one…

    or

Maybe LQ will form the skills park within the big network once (if) all the surrounding area has been linked…

    In which case, fair enough.

Thought i was gettign too much, they seem to blow through the travel.

My riding style is full-on, whether up or down.

Not sure now whether to get the spring or some new forks…

How much did it cost 'all-in' to change the springs, where, etc?

'Bit difficult to really go in to this as we do not know the facts of the off/crash…

In general terms though, MTBs should be generally crash resistant imo.

+1 njee – re' the 'not fit for purpose' suggestion.

Surely no-one is saying that MTBs shouldn't be made to withstand a fall, crash…Are they? I mean a reasonable one, like this one seems to have been.

The crash to me didn't sound like a major one and should be able to withstand a reasonable crash imo. isn't that the reason we invest our hard-earned in to more expensive bikes?
