Hmmmm,In that case i wonder if you could’nt have solid doors glazed maybe?

Hey Bullheart liking the van! I want one like yours with the glazed rear and side doors tho I think I might be tempted to get them tinted.Trouble is not all crew vans are like that, most of them appear to have solid side and rear doors, think I could live with the solid side doors but not sure how I’d get on not being able to see behind me,guess I’d have to adjust to using my door mirrors more :-)Also noticed that a few crew vans come with an up and over door which might come in handy for keeping out the rain!

Thanks for your replies folks.Found a van dealer near where I work in Brum and he said to avoid the 1.3 CDTI although that was all he had in stock He reckoned to go for the 1.7 CDTI which apparantly is an Isuzo engine and supposed to be very reliable.Currantly working my through Ebay and Autotrader so hopefully should be sorted before long!

Hi Bullheart,a crew van like yours is actually what I’m looking for,the ability to carry more than one passenger occasionaly would be very useful. Can you get 3 people+bikes+gear in ok? Also what sort of mpg do you get? and what is the tax+insurance like?

Ta for the responces,Petesgaff yours is what they call a crew van right? Is it a 1.3 or 1.7?Is the tax and insurance much more than a car?I’m running a 1.8 focus at the mo!Cheers Neal

Hmmmm, well ta for the replies everyone.Think I might be better off getting a coil shock and a pair of Lyriks for my Heckler than trying to build a light Patriot.

Thanks for the replies,I'm not really bothered if I need to remove the front wheels as long as I can get up to 3 bikes inside, just like to keep everything inside the car for when we stop at motorway service stations,Little Chefs etc 🙂

Sounds good,as long as i can get 3 AM type bikes(140-160mm forks) without too much drama that'll do me!! By the way what do you think of the Berlingo, any good, read good things about them apart from not being very stylish!

Thanks for the replies, after looking in to it i think I'm going to stick with trolley jacks and axle stands and if it involves anything more serious than oil changes, brake pads or the odd CV gaitor well I'm out of my depth anyway 🙂

Thanks for your imput Brant, blimey I didn't think I'd be dealing with the frames designer, isn't the internet great!!!and thanks for the others for their replies!
TBH I'm not really that bothered about the price difference,£260 for the Blue Pig isn't going to plunge me into poverty!!
Wors-I must confess I quite enjoy a good techy singletrack climb like CwmCarn or the start of Whites at Afan so want a bike that's not going too hard to keep in a straight line but want one that's going to be fun on the decents as well!

I'm thinking of these two basically because I don't want to spend too much dosh and they need to be able to handle ok with 140mm forks, but feel free to recommend any others.

For what it's worth I've had a pair of Aldi winter gloves and they're really pretty good with a decent bit of towelling for snot wiping!! Ok they're not warm as my SealSkins but they don't make my hands sweat like the SealSkins and for about a fiver you can always carry a spare pair if it's really wet!

Ta for the replies.Myself and a couple of mates are hoping to have a weekender down that way and are trying to plan a couple of days rides to include Brechfa,Cwm Rhaeadr and the Doiehie Valley ride that was in MBR a few months back, would also be looking for some bike friendly accomodation.
