How about just buying a pair of slicks and a road block for your XC bike.

He must have put a few quid on his Oyster to do that.

Something like this would be a far better proposition for all round safety/visibly.

My bikes range from ’93 to ’10.

All are still rideable and can probably do more than I can.

    Going by the videos:

    Ed: natural stuff.

Jedi: more Jumpy/Northshore/berms/Trail Centre focused stuff.

I’ve probably got that completely wrong and in the interest of fairness I’d like to try both.

Might have to save up some cash up for a one to one with each.

That’s what I’ve read. There’s going to be a big cycle centre there as well as the Pringle there’s a road circuit, the BMX track (dumbed down for mortals), a road circuit and MB Trails!

It’s 1 mile away from our house so it’ll be great to kill an hour or two when/if I get some time.

    Due to open next year.

Happy days the Eastway is back! :-)

Ikea units, worktops from somewhere online as Ikea’s weren’t deep enough and shop around for appliance as you’ll get what you really want.

If you can, fit it yourself.

    For Road

Solo.cc is a good fit and quality. They have stuff on sale which can be good value.

Also Lusso is close fitting and more towards DHB prices but better quality.

    For MB

I’ve got a Repack Berino jersey which a very good fit.
Royal MW365 shorts which were £45 and are a nice close fit on my chicken legs.

    I’m 5’9″ and 63.5kg BTW.

If he wants to be taken seriously 4K is simply not enough.

Get the tight bugger to put his hand in his pocket and spring for one of these.

    An absolute steal at 12K.

Oh and don’t forget the Rpaha

Looks good, works bad. The perfect mouse if you only have two fingers.

I have all my digits and it works brilliantly, but my fingers are quite long and thin.

    VLC is a must.

    Handbrake is also very good.

I’ve subscribed to iTunes match and think it’s fantastic, Iv’e got all 1665 albums in my library at home to choose form at work.

peteimpreza : Never had a problem with Handbrake been using it for years. It’s definitely faster on the new machines.

As for BR discs you’ll need a BR Drive. Here’s a good how to guide[/url]

Everyone on that committee should be forced to ride from Croydon to Barnet….and back.

I doubt any of them could make a fraction of that distance.

Hopefully – he’ll grow out of it. As it’s just in the last month or so that it’s affecting him.

He’ll charm the socks of adults but doesn’t like other babies with their dribbling, grabby little hands and all that squawking.

Saying that he’s as noisy as the best of them when he’s on his own/in the company of big people.

must be scared of the competition.

    Strange.

Yeah we think it noise but just baby/toddler related noise.

He’s fine with loud ambient noises and even our friends mental collie constantly barking right next to him.

We did it on Friday this year, which turned out to be the best day weather wise. Saturday was miserable, Sunday was dry but the trails were sodden.

All in all I really enjoyed it. Very tiring though as we’d not been to the Alps before. Really well organized, lots of control points/feed stations. The lift staff were great as we’re fellow riders.

If you ride it on the first day you can do it again as you get a free lift pass for the day after.

Hopefully doing it again next year.

How about eating lunch a bit later?

Eating a shed load of cards in one go might give you a carb crash after a few hours.

A bag of nuts/dried fruit for a mid/late afternoon snack?

I had some guy ride in to the back of me as I slowed to stop at a red pedestrian crossing. Luckily I was unhurt and stayed upright but the guy hit the ground quite hard and was holding his shoulder when he got up.

As he limped off to the pavement he muttered an apology, something along the lines of ‘Sorry, I didn’t expect you to stop’.

None of the pedestrians who were crossing and had seen the whole thing asked him if he was ok/offered help and I hesitated before I did.

I often gat asked at work if cyclists are exempt from stopping for pedestrians.

To which my reply is yes, but only if they’re selfish inconsiderate ***ts.

My grey suit obviously falls in to this category.

Cyclist came opposite way to me last night with flasher on high and pointing straight out, I couldnt see a thing.

I had someone behind me with a massively bright light on a helmet mount and I couldn’t see what was in front of me and this was on well lit London roads.

I think bright lights are good but they have to be fit for purpose. Do you really need 1200000000000000 lupin light? You might be OK but other road users may be adversely affected by it.

I’ve nothing against bright lights but you should consider your fellow road user.

Here’s my overpriced Moon Shield pointing slightly down, it creates a massive pool of light behind me.

    Very effective isn’t it?
