    Boxelder both ends are 180mm

The forks are Thors so the calliper bolts straight on so I won’t need an adaptor on them and I can use the adapter form the front which is an IS to IS +20 for the rear.

I’t more recconneting which I’m not sure on.

Funny, I was thinking about a swapies over the Olympics as we’re only 1 mile from the stadium. Your place would be perfect.

    Nowhere near Keswick though.

But nice view – hope you find someone.

What was the total cost, if you don’t mind me asking?

Also what SRAM kit did you go for?

I quite fancy building a CX bike for winter.

    Nice bike BTW.

+1 for Holingworth Lake as I spent a lot of my yoof cycling around that area.

Mess Cafe in Hackney do superb burgers, but you better get there before all the hipsters 😉

Pelicis for your ‘the Crays’ ate here, type thing.

The Alibion in Shoreditch is very good – might not be a cafe but if it is it’s a CAFÉ not a kaff

Sorry to interrupt, but could you send me a pic of the mount as if it’s right for my bike I’d wouldn’t mind buying off you.

Or can you tell me where it’s from?

Not enough dirty bass in there for me. Give it some dirty jungle baselines and it will be bang up to date.

It reminds of of stuff I used to hear when I was clubbing.

What’s it for, as you just messing around or is it more than that?

MBR is good for a few hours, it you make it back quickly you can do the tempter as it’s only short.

Or you can try and ride the massive berms on Minotaur as quickly as you can then link up to dreamtime as that’s one o the bet bits of single track at Brenin – in my opinion of course.

I was there, We went at least 3 times a month from 97 to around 2000. It really was brilliant.

Were you there when the guys ‘under the stairs’ were there?

I’d advise wearing elbow pads for the first few goes, as a precaution.

I’ve ridden with spuds since 94 and they are great but my argument is one sided as I’ve only ridden on flats maybe twice in that time.

Rickons advice is good, do lots of practice twisting out and keep your tension quite slack initially – but not too slack your feet ‘pop’ out.

Also check your cleats every few rides, sometimes the bolts come loose and if that happens, a whole world of hurt will open up in front of you.

    Good luck.

Sorry cCubber, I gave you an i you didn’t need. Can you post a link fr the hope c2 mount plead.

Filks: how long ago did you try the adapter? I got mine last year and it’s one of the newer stiffer ones, so hopefully it won’t suffer the same fate.

Clubbier, I saw your post on the cx great he other day and the A2Z you’ve got looks quite good. So good I fact I was going to buy one but then I read they will not work with vertcle dropouts and mine a rear facing.

But it might work for Tallie, depending on his dropouts direction.

The a2z adapters can be quite tricky to fit especially if the frame is a small as there’s not enough space in between the seat and chain stays.

This is why I’ve never gone and tried the A2Z…my Klein is a small and I just couldn’t see how the space between chainstay and seatstay would be large enough to fit the caliper in. Been waiting for a solution for ages and that Toronto Cycles one looks like the solution I’ve been looking for. Going to go ahead and order one

Anyone know what bolt spec for mounting the adapter to the 22mm brake mount on the frame?

You can get a Ti mounting kit from Toronto cycles as well.

Tallle – So far no, there was bit of a vibration coming form the rear but that was because the mount was ever so slightly touching the disc. But I took it to a LBS to have the hoses shortened (as I’m new to discs) and they realigned the mount for me. Since then there was no rubbing or juddering.

But as I said it will have it’s first proper outing next Sat so I’ll report back.

I’ll also post up a pic of it in a bit.

Tallie – I’ll let you know how I get on next week.

I did quite a bit of research when I was sourcing my brake etc and the Toronto seemed the best solution. The a2z adapters can be quite tricky to fit especially if the frame is a small as there’s not enough space in between the seat and chain stays.

Also you might have to run a 140mm disc to compensate for the lack of the clearance.

I bought one of the hayes adapters from Toronto cycles for my 2001 Klein.

The only thing is it’s a bit heavy but seems to work well.

I’ll be riding in Epping next weekend on it so will have a better idea of how it performs but on a 15mile road trip it was fine.

1988 a blue Peugeot number from Halfords – It had Shimano SIS gears circa

1991 Aluminium fat framed thing – that was bought of my brothers mate, stripped and polished (looked pretty)

1992. Gary Fischer bought from a guy I rode with at college in Banbury – It had Pace RC30s and a 1 1/4 Threaded headset and was the best bike ever.

1999 A Silver Pace RC200 with Polished RC31s and full XT. It got nicked and I’m still gutted to this day

2001 A Klein Attitude Race, Aztec gold – this one is currently being reincarnated as my XC race bike. The frames too good to get rid of.

    2005 98 Kona Explosif 853 steel – because I always wanted one.

2007 94 Kona Explosif – the 98 wasn’t really the one I wanted and this was for me a ‘proper’ Explosif

2011 Pace rc305 – My first modern mountain bike.

    2012 Ibis Mojo – 😀

I changed the cranks over last night andhis mornings ride in I was using 50:14 and it felt very comfortable. It’s a pretty flat ride in so there was no need to change. My work rate didn’t seem any different to riding in a 53:17.

So I’m getting more inches and it’s easier to turn the cranks, bit of a win so far. 😀

So.. lots of people mentioning Panasonic here – why go for them over Olympus?

For me, it about the lenses and Panasonic use Leica optics.
