  • Do I Need Bike Insurance? Your Bicycle Insurance Questions Answered

Basically it’s because the system is a bit broken and the sh1tbags that do this kind of thing have too many rights. They’ll get a slap on the wrist and a few hours of community service and then be free to do it all again.

More importantly was the bike recovered?

23 miles of exploring / finding trials / getting lost / dead ends and ending up in holy bushes and various other spiky undergrowth in Epping forest yesterday. A fantastic way to kill a few hours.

I also learned that putting 100psi in each chamber of your pikes means you’re more or less riding to very heavy rigid forks 😳

I go off riding daily. I stop when I get to work though.

How about mixing it up though.

Do you have a road bike? You could get some miles in on that. Maybe find a local club to ride with.

Oops just read the post above and it’s the same as mine 😳 so I’ve edited the repitition.

Scaerdy I just meant in looks. The USE looks simpler, which for me is more appealing.

I’ve never used one though, so it might be worth the weight penalty. I’m just a bit of a USE fan as I’ve used their seat posts since the mid 90’s

Rob, I went or the alloy sumo XCR.

IIRC the carbon is heavier than the alloy, I spoke to one of e guys at USE about it and they said there’s no difference in performance the carbons just for those who want a bit of extra bling.

Give USE a ring if you need more info or have questions, they’ve got brilliant customer service. I sent them my 20 year old SX (that I bought from the classifieds here) after I tried and failed to service it. They took a look at it, told me it was too old to do anything with and then offered me a new post at trade. 😯 i really didnt expect that, so I got the XCR.

    Rob I’ve got a 305 as well. It’s got a real sting hasn’t it?

I had a USE alien and now a sumo (both are 27.2 with a shim) shockpost , which are great.

They’re not as cumbersome as a thudbuster and quite light as well.

Didn’t see all video before the interview but he came across really well.

His stats on cycling deaths were good and the comments about the need to change the hierarchy for road users to

    /\ Pedestrians
    / \ Cyclists
    / \ Drivers

Has cycling just gone full circle.

    Can this be called cycling?

Is it even a bicycle according to the dictionary it’s not as it’s don’t got peggles ?

Mines great as well using it to record ride and keep me at 100rpm.

The navigation on road is great as well. I got some anti glare screen protectors off amazon, so it’s fine in daylight now.

Not used it to navigate off road yet, but hopefully will soon.

I’ve got some Trax anteres as well. They are good and the first time on them is ‘fun’ but I do wish they had some resistance.

Saying that my rollers have become quite noisy, apparently it’s quite a common problem with the anteres not sure if the designs been revised yet, so it’s something to bear in mind. On the same thread someone comes up with a cheap fix, so if you can get a set at a reasonable price they will be worth it as you’re technique will improve.

Ask yourself: Have you ever seen a fat Muslim during Ramadan?

You obviously don’t get out much there are loads of fat muslims, they fast but are still fat.

As above your body holds onto food when you starve yourself so you do get fatter.

    Eat carbs in the morning

and only protein and veg for lunch and dinner.

    Don’t snack.

Get a HRM and use the bike at the gym to get in your fat burning zone for 30 mins a day.

    And don’t snack or slack.

You lot just need to develop proper bloke thumbs!!

You need to get the tyre in the well of the rim and it will practically fall off.

    Even for road tyres?

Temper Traps first album has a big sound and is well worth a listen, don’t bother with the new one it’s a bit poo.

Also Bloc Partys older stuff is good, they’ve got a new album as well but not got/listened to it yet.

I’ll check out the gaslight album myself.

I’ve been fortunate to have had my art collected. A diverse group of private, corporate, museum and royal collectors.

    Let’s have a look?

That luxury of protest stuff is good, where did you get it? I loves me some nice typography.

I’ve got a couple of prints from YCN and a couple of original Designers Republic posters and a copy of the U&lc magazine they did. Not sure if it’s classed a real art but we like it.

I’ve now read your post properly. My cable’s making it’s own path. I suppose it will travel as far as it needs to so it pulls straight

Originally the the derailleur didn’t have that cantilever direct bottom pulls so I guess the cable had a straighter path

Powerbands, what a load of Hokum.

A friend who runs a watersports shop was selling them by the truck load last year.

As soon as someone put one on there balance was immediately improved, it made them stronger and more supple.

I tried one on and it did F-all apart from keep £20 in my pocket.

For road use just get some slicks/city tyres.
