I’ll use them to true wheels, then when I’m there I’ll buy a couple of things or if I need something quickly.

As for forks is it better to send them off to the ‘approved’ service centres or would an LBS do as good good a job?

Buy them and give me your old wheels for nothing.

I like spokey wheels, the more spokes the better.

Air ambulance pilot – you get to do worthwhile job and fly a whirlybird – surely women would fall at your feet
If its while you’re on duty its becuase they’re terribly ill or critically injured – I’m not sure if that counts as “Wahay I’m in there!”

    😀

    AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME job.

specialist shop, try them on and make sure it’s one of the shops that lets you wear them around the house for a couple of weeks.

Can you give one of these shoos a name Kenny? I’ll get into all sorts or trouble googling ‘specialist footwear shops’

Don’t know about east London specifically but London is a bit of a black hole for outdoor shops apart from the big chains which are all fine:

    Snow & Rock
    Cotswold
    Ellis Brigham
    Field & Trek

That’s why I asked I can go to all the above chains as they’re more or less around Covent Garden but I was wondering there was any independent shops. There used to be one on Charing Cross road amongst all the music shops but I’m not sure if that’s there anymore.

Thanks for the advice. I will try before I buy as I’ve got narrow feet.

I can’t think of any local outdoors shops in these parts (The wilderness of east London). If anyone knows of one let me know. (I’ll ask google as well)

Shem: what did you get and where from?

Tang, I had approach shoes but they were constantly getting wet and muddy. They’re brilliant for our 2 weeks of summer but around Epping as soon as it rains it’s a total mudfest. So something a bit studier is needed me thinks.

Daz: the vet gave me a url for catchat.org they list all the rescue centres in your area. I’ve been in touch with one in Chingford so she may be going there next week.

Had a walk round the are I found her and there aren’t any missing posters – so it looks like the poor thing was dumped. 😥

She’s had her bloods done recently so I’m guessing they test for that type of thing but I’m not 100% sure. Also she’s not doing any poop duty – that’s down to me.

We’re in Leyton, East London If anyone’s interested in rehoming her.

Take it to the vets to get checked out and to be checked for a chip. If it’s not chipped keep it ! As was said before, cats are ace! The dog will be put in his place no probs.
If you don’t want to keep it, bring it to a local cat shelter, they will look after it.

Just been to the Vets, There’s no chip, but she’s in good condition.

She’s an 8 week old female, not from a feral/stray litter as she’s very timid. That’s probably why she was follwing the ‘random guy’ around. The vet gave her some dry food and a carrier to transport her home in which she proceeded to crap all over.

So now we’ll put some posters up in the surrounding area and then see if we have any luck. If we don’t then CPL or a cat rescue place will have to be found. I went to return a parcel and a lady in the shop said she’d have her, so if we have no luck with the original owner or the shelters (the vet said they’re pretty full ATM) she’ll go to the lady.

We really can’t keep her, the dog would get use to her but Mrs Eye is preggers (20 weeks today 😀 ) so having a new kitten isn’t ideal.

This ones helping my type at the moment -it’s very cute and super friendly

    Good shout about the Vets.

It looked too young to be out – that’s why we took it in – specially with all the nasty urban foxes around.

garlic and herb crust, potatoes dauphinoise, seasonal veg

Not much meat on this one – not worth the bother. be better off in the stock pot. 😉

    @ Spooky & Binners

    We’re in east London.

    @ mintimperial

The RSPCA is all automated so I couldn’t speak to anyone – I was just told.

I’ve put it on our local freecycle – someone’s emailed and said they’ve seen a lost black and white cat poster. So they’re going to send me the number when they pass it next. – fingers crossed

    Don’t get some Tack Antares.

I got sone andtThey are good to start with but they develop faults quickly. The clips don’t hold and the bearings become loose in their housing and make a racket.

If I was buying some I’d go fr the ones chef recommends.

Mine slip as well, so thanks for the tip.

Wait until your bearings become too noisy to use.

They are great when they work but it seems they’re just badly designed.
