Humpy: where abouts in London are you?

    MBR035 might be of interest.

Organised rides in Epping forest every Saturday.

With groups to suit your fitness skill level.

I did it on my Kona a few years ago which is also ridid.

But I did have the luxury of gears, what killed me was having V’s by the last couple of descends my arms were shot and I had to walk down them.

This time, I’lll have lovely disc brakes but no gears.

    Where will you ride.

How much money do you have?

How do you know you’ll enjoy it before dropping a bag on cash on a whim?

What do you like about those bikes?

I tried to find that place last year when we come to Lee Quarry in Jan – but failed miserably. No phone reception and the guys we asked didn’t have clue.

Might go in for a look-see when I’m up next week.

    It’s not photoshopped.

Highlights are correct as there’s a single light source
All the spokes are accounted for
The way the tshirt is hanging around his neck suggests he’s not upright.

    So it’s a bona-fide image.

His face suggests he’s resigned to his fate and is willing to take a face full of dirt.

You can whack* some ginger in there as well.

*caution is required when whacking as the beverage contains hot water which may scald you. Neither myself or anyone I know will be responsible for any injuries caused by whacking ginger into the aforementioned beverage

    you have to ask?

That’s a bit of a one sided exercise and to get any benefit you’d have to do it as intervals.

is there anything you can do seated to raise your HR enough for you start burning fat? I can only think of strengthening exercises.

    Congratulations on you’re new addition.

Thanks everyone for your advice, tips and links.

Soma, I like the sound of not having to bleed the brake.

I was going to order online but I’ll try a LBS.

Thing is most of the LBS are chains down this way (in rural east Londonshire) and the ones that aren’t are pretty road/hipster orientated.

There’s two that sell MB’s both are in the opposite direction of the way I commute by a good few miles.

I’d go for elbow pads rather than knees and you’re first times usually about falling sideways and skicking out an arm to stop you falling.
