I’d recommend Epping Forest, not too far away and you can ride all day.

There’s a big mixed group that goes from the car park in Bury Road, Chingford every Saturday at 11.00 am.

They know the forest really well and are a fun group to ride with.

Drop me a mail when you move down or check out MBR035.

3K budget? Only do 40-60 mies.

Go see Brian Rouke and get thee a made to measure piece of steel loveliness. Won’t b much heavier than the bikes you’ve linked to so you can beat your mates and have a something unique.

BTW I’m not knocking any of the bikes above as I’d love a carbon race bike, I’m just adding another option.

You need the yellow rim tape, you got that yes?

Yes, it already had yellow tape in it, I’ve boght some more as well in case it didn’t.

Then, leave inflated , overnight ideally, then remove the tube, leave one bead seated. Then take the tubeless valve core out, and inflate with a track pump. If it won’t seal, get neat washing up liquid and squirt it around the rim. I trend to slosh it around with a paint brush. It always inflates for me like that.

The front which was already running tubeless had a rim strip over the yellow tape. So once the tyres been left to form I’ll deflate and put in the rim strip, mount the tyre with LOTS of neat washing up liquid as suggested and try to inflate it.

With just the yellow tape the tyre felt loose.

Wasted loads of Stans ending up with only 3/4 of a scoop full in the rear. It’s going to be a nerve racking ride tomorrow wondering if that’s enough.

The Minion I took off the front had no fluid in it, just lots of dried film. It must have done a few hundred miles as well.

    Thanks everyone for the replies.

It’s got a lot of spacers under the stem.

If that doesn’t put you off I don’t know what will!

No, it wasn’t you Gotama, I’m not that bothered about it I read a few old threads and no one seems to buy new ones after they’e lost theirs.

I was gauging the opinion of other Formula users.

I was just checking as I was reading the instructions and it mentioned one.

I’ll whack some threadlock as we are going to mince around the Alps at PPS.

robinbetts – I supposed you’d buy him a new car, tell him it’s not his fault and ask him to be a nice chap and not to do it again.

He SHOULD receive a lifetime ban, it’s only by making examples out of these pricks that the wider population will take notice.

Cycling is a dangerous activity, especially in a city. There are accidents on the roads everyday, and not always because someone was being reckless. We don’t know anything about what the cyclists where doing at the time. I’m not blaming the cyclist in any way, just saying we don’t have the information.

Granted it is dangerous, but without stronger laws and negligent road users being held to account it will never stop happening. The basic fact is that he’s killed 2 people in 30 years, 2 living breathing Human beings, he’s not knocked over a dustbin. We don’t ‘know’ the circumstances but he’s taken 2 lives, because he wasn’t paying attention.

Splendid. Should be on mid week movies.

Agree it’s better than a lot of the rubbish on there this week.

Good video, well done Fin and you, love how the dog’s leading the way.

    I’d say no, it’s not, but the courts/legal system/society don’t give a f*ck if you’re killed on a bike.

Seems like ‘perfect’ way to get away with murder/manslaughter.

I pass through there every day, most days I follow people who do 40 all the way along the 50 section, 40 through the 40 section & due to the hill, 45 through Bamford which is a 30 zone.

I’m really tempted to lock up a ghost bike in the corner but fear it’ll get taken down.

I big picture/banner of the poor guy who died would be more effective.

can anyone tell me how/why this is an improvement?

Well I’ve got nine speed so it’d be two faster/betterer for me – innit.

    I’ve used that several times

    did you?

I placed 3 orders, 2 on Tuesday and 1 last night. It only worked on the first one, it’d show up but when I went to Paypal it showed the full amount.

    Oh well! 😐

Hang on a second, the X is great but the Croix de Fer was around a long time before it doing the same thing very well. There may have been others.

True, all I’m saying is CX/RX/fun-CX is quite cool/fashionable now.

Personally I’d like a Colnago world cup 2.0.

@curiousyellow Don’t order the XS I’m a 28″/30″ waist in everything I wear and got the Sombrios today.

I Ordered XS going off their size chart and they come up quite small. I can do them up but they’re really snug (ie no room for cake expansion). So I’m returning them and have ordered the smalls which are 30″-32″.

The link binners put up is for the versions with liners, they’re £25 more.

Our lad is just going to have to BTFU. It’s not like he has to sit on stinging hot vinyl like what we did in the 70’s.

    😀

BTFU, I’m going to use that.

How to Scott shorts size up? Can’t see a size chart. I am sometime L, sometimes XL and too big for Sombrio!

    Large only

So I’m getting back on the horse after a few years. I’m pretty sure my RF-200 that I was using back when I was riding on a regular, will need to be trashed and replaced. However, I purchased another RF-200 around the same time as my primary, when needed for a secondary rider. That one was used a few times, but mostly stayed in a bag on a shelf in a closet all this time. I’m thinking of using that for the time being till I decide to get another helmet. I’ve had people tell me it’ll be fine, others say I should replace it (due to the 5 year rule). It’s never been dropped, no dings, no scratches, doesn’t smell. Practically brand new. However, the foam liner at the top has started to deteriorate. I wore it for go-karting last week, and the sweat from my head made the liner start crumbling off. Not much, but still crumbled. Should I have any concerns about this helmet? I love this helmet, fits my head like a glove…still. If it’s still good to use, I’d prefer to use it for a while longer.

There’s only one way you’ll really find out, thing is how much of a chance are you prepared to take on the outcome?

I’ve noticed black cabs are a lot more considerate these days, but that may be due to the sheer number of cyclists in London unfortunately Addison Lee drivers have take up their mantle of being complete d1cks.

IME 90% of drivers on my commute/on rides are aware of bikes and act accordingly.
