Yeah the new one has disks but at this price point I just figured they would add weight. Plus the deals aren’t as good!

Out of interest and it is at 9.5kg with the rubbish pedals. They weigh a fair bit so may be able to save some weight and get down to 9.25kg ish…

I was debating whether to put my fizik Arione saddle on it too but I quite like the orange on the kore one it’s been supplied with. Colour coordination matters!

I think the colour scheme is great, it has a really chunky down tube but the graphics really break up the lines. The orange is also metallic and really catches the sun.

Due to my knee I’m going to keep the cages so it’s easier for me to keep moving my foot position. Eventually they will be going though as they weigh a ton!

    For those that replied thanks!

The bike turned up pretty quick, it assembled nicely and was pretty much set up straight out the box.

It was reasonably light to start with and is even lighter with my Mavic Aksiums on. The ride is harsh when compared to my old steel Peugeot but I can learn to live with that. For the £500 I paid from Winstanleys I’m really pleased.

Although it could do with a black rear dérailleur…..

Thanks for the offer toppers but I already have a set of mavic wheels to put on it, and I didn’t really want to sell them with the Peugeot.

I’m just looking for a nice stable bike, I’m not going to be racing on it so don’t need anything to serious. I just wasn’t sure if it would be any good!

I’ve just ordered mine from Rose bikes. Shipping isn’t cheap but the price makes up for it.

I used them to get Avid Elixir Trail 9 brakes for £20!

If i had any left I’d definitely do it again.

My factory decided to lose all its air pressure repeatedly when it wasn’t ridden for a few months. It was fixed under warranty and has been fine since.

I have both on two different bikes, the C setting on the evo seems more responsive than the C setting on the factory. The Factory does seem a lot more compliant though.

However as both bikes use two different suspension designs Blur vs Foxy, this could be the design!

I had this issue with match. If you haven’t logged on to your account since the payment went out you can ring them and they should give you a refund as you haven’t used the service.

If you’ve logged on they will not refund. if you have any proof of the cancellation, phone records or screenshots they should also accept those.

As a blatant plug, check my post in the classifieds. I have a Foxy R for sale right in your price bracket.

Thanks all for your replies, I am leaning towards the SC myself, as it was a self build as well.

The main issue I have is due to a knee issue I can’t actually properly ride either. I can only pootle round the village on the roads!

Excellent, most of the replies I think give me the response I wanted.

Loco, how easy would it be for me to increase the 51mm unit to a 57mm to match my new frame?

I know Jungle UK have some 26″ Santa Cruz Nomads in as I was offered one as warranty replacement.

Davesport thanks for the lengthy reply it is much appreciated and similar to you my problem came on with no previous issues, I’m making my appointment to go see the consultant tomorrow and if I don’t like what he says I won’t hesitate to go somewhere else. I’m really hoping to avoid surgery if I can and am going to enquire into the cortisone injections to find out if they are viable and I’m also going to ring and speak to the physio I’ve dealt with as he has also just been through knee problems. I’m 5 and a half months off the bike already so waiting a bit longer is no extra hardship right now, and I’d rather things were right!

Dave did you ask the ex British cycling doctor what he would have recommended if he had seen you first? And initially did yours feel fine when you were off the bike? Mine was weird when it initially occurred as I couldn’t pedal but walking was no real problem!
