I have been using DE for a few years. I am currently enjoying using the Qshave futur clone, with either feather or voskhod blades. Preshave is hot water followed by using some proraso green pre shaving cream (the eucalyptus oil and menthol one), this stuff I have noticed makes a difference!. I also use proraso green soap and aftershave balm. Although I love the wood and spice range that proraso does, it smells by far the best.

To record a route via GPS you need your phone on you.

It does work stand alone with a speed sensor but only records time and distance (no route).

I have have clocked up a few thousand km with my wahoo elemnt mini in the last year. My advice would be save your pennies a little longer and get the bolt with dedicated GPS. I have had a fair few problems with my mini, on long rides sometimes the phone and the mini suffer from a glitch where they unpair meaning you can’t finish your ride (the computer thinks you are at 0km, and the end ride button does not work in app!) meaning you lose all your data for the workout.. annoying when you have just done 150km! Wahoo customer support have been useless trying to resolve this. It also lacks any navigation. I am upgrading to a bolt soon.

As others have said it all comes down to finding a good teacher. I am a long time practitioner of Krav Maga and travel a bit with my job so train where ever I go and you really do see a big difference in the quality of instruction from tutor to tutor, even in the same organisation. Also if there are any local, try and have a go and kids Krav Maga, it teaches them some real straight to the point self defence.

Seems to be loads here too this year, had a swarm of them chasing me on a road group ride last week. I find riding bit faster keeps them at bay so far.

Another vote for medtree here. Replenished my first aid kits with a few orders from them. Always good on price and fast delivery.

Re holding doors, acknowleging people in cars, some please and thank you’s etc I dont mind now…
Expect nothing, you wont be disappinted. Anything else is a bonus.

My exact same way of thinking here in Estonia. Sometimes I get an odd thank you for holding a door open or waving someone out of a junction while driving. Its rare but a nice bonus when it does happen.

Forcing EU citizens to have some for of registration card when UK citizens don’t have one
    But only they don’t.

Which EU citizens are forced to “register” in the UK?

Besides, isn’t it compulsory in a lot of EU countries for all of their citizens to carry ID cards? France for example? So if you want to apply for residency and live, work, pay tax, access all the health care etc. Surely you would also need to have an ID card? And if you have an ID card, you must appear on a register and are therefore “registered”?

Those are above are genuine questions, I have no idea what the detailed requirements are.

Estonians all carry ID cards and so do I as a foreign resident. I actually love the ID card system here as it is linked to all digital services (It has a chip and pin system). You can vote online / Access health service (even prescriptions are obtanined from a swipe of your card / Manage tax / Be able to sign documents legally (card reader at home) / Pay parking or speeding fines / receive discounts and loyalty points when shopping or at restaurants (especially on your birthday week). Plus many more uses for it but it all works seamlessly.

Three weeks into the cold/manflu for me. I thought I had got rid of it one week ago and did a turbo session (funnily enough on a new road bike) and then it came back with a vengeance the next day..

Living in Tallinn, Estonia with my GF (who is Estonian) with no intention of returning to the UK. This place is ace apart from how difficult the language is to learn, but i am studying. After many years together in the UK we up and left to come here as this place seems good to start a family. I currently have a 5 year residency permit which hopefully will become permanent unless Brexit messes it up.

Newbie to TrainerRoad here, training for a few XC marathons next year and currently quite unfit.. starting with sweet spot base. Would it be recommended to use my MTB that I will actually be racing on my smart turbo or use my road bike? Turbo work is my only option for winter training as where i live I would need ice tyres and it’s a bit too cold out for most of the winter.

    Watching this thread with interest.

I need to work on my fitness and drop about 15-20kg myself. I recently relocated to Estonia and they love Xc marathon races over here. Did my first in September (over 5000 participants!) and soon realised I need to shed some weight and actually train! So got myself a smart turbo and TrainerRoad subscription for the winter – next to impossible to ride outdoors here in winter when it’s -20 and covered in thick ice. Need to shift my cold then time for an ftp test this week. My goal is to be top 500 in the same event next September.

IP professional here (15+ years in Patent, Design and Trademarks). Just some info.. Trademarks are split up in to different classifications. So depending on what classifications Kona wanted cover in the original application is what they have cover for (class 12 – vehicles most probably). So Kona coffee Co. would say be covered for food services (class 43). So you can use the same name as long as you stick to your classification.

I got one of those Pro Bike Gear (Shimanos accessory wing) 22 multi tools.. it has served me well this year, even comes with a handy chain hook/holder for when you need to break or fix a chain. Mine came with a small case too.

Cadence sensor is needed. I ended up getting a Wahoo Tickr and Wahoo Speed and cadence sensor for my set up (all of which connect direct to my Ipad with bluetooth along with my smart turbo). A fan is definitely needed also some form of a mat too, so you do not destroy your floor.

You guys were not joking when you said this will make you sweat… Its way harder than real life 😆 I got a cadence sensor on order which should turn up Monday/Tuesday and then I will do an FTP test for the first time ever.

I once got given a savoury tuna sandwich cake for a birthday here in Estonia a few years back. I was a little disappointed at the time as i am a big fan of a traditional jam sponge cake.

I am now fully set up and ready to go on zwift with my tacx 2240 after my trainer tyre turned up in Tallinn today (5 days to deliver here from wiggle!). Bought a fan yesterday, got some looks as there is already snow and ice about here 😆 Quick question, what sort of tyre pressures are optimum for turbos? And will a sick bucket be necessary?

Tacx flow t2240 is in decathlon for £189 at the moment while the stock lasts. I picked one up last week.

mrmo – I am also training for XC marathon and have no idea of what I am doing! Marathon is hugely popular here in my new home of Estonia. I did my first last month and now I am hooked. I just need to lose 15-20kg and work on stamina 😆 Hoping zwift and the turbo help over the winter.

I just picked up a Tacx Flow 2240 from decathlon today for £189 while on a visit to the UK to see my folks. This will be a handy tool for me now living in Estonia where the winters do get quite cold. Any pointers for a beginner on zwift? i will be using the Ipad version.

Tallinn, Estonia is cold and beautiful. I relocated here recently. Helsinki and Stockholm also good but a little more expensive.

+1 on draftsight if you are working in 2D, it free and it’s pretty much the same as AutoCAD LT. I also use AutoCAD 2015 for Mac

BT Sport only, they have exclusive rights for 5 years. The coverage and commentator line up this year looks impressive to be honest!

Failing that you can get a pass to watch races on motogp.com

OP: KK2 is a good little board its what I started with on my first quad, easy to tweak PID settings etc when out using it thanks to the screen built into it.

I bought a little hubsan to get the feel for flying one while I was building and waiting on parts for my F330 flame wheel from Hobby king. I now have a TBS discovery frame that I am building up too. I am still learning mind! I just ordered some FPV gear which I’m looking forward to using this summer.

Will you be using a Naza flight controller?

My current 318i petrol is still going strong at 193,000 miles. It still feels good and solid to drive, I have maintained it well mind. One thing to consider at high mileage are the bushings start going/get worn and can be a pain in the arse to do on the rear subframe. This will be my second BMW that I have taken over 200,000 miles!

Whatever you do don’t drive it, Oil seals may have gone and will be firing oil into the throttle body of your engine and intercooler if so.

Id say 200-300 pounds for a recon’d turbo without labour, your intercooler/ throttle body may need a good clean out too.

I snorkel a fair bit in the Med and I use the shorter Cressi light swimming/training fins. I find these more than adequate for snorkelling and do not take up much room in your luggage. They can be had quite cheap online too.

Agree with everyone on who said test fit a mask first and avoid buying from off the web. I picked up a decent mask and purge valve snorkel from decathlon for little money that has done me well.

Depends where and when it happened, If in the UK I would have no hope of defending myself I reckon. But if I was over in Estonia I could get my hands on a Saiga 12 which I am familiar with and would be my weapon of choice for a zombie apocalypse.

I prefer the Eurosport coverage too. I will not miss the commentary from Steve parish and Charlie cox on BBC thats for sure! I bought a years subscription on Motogp.com this year, the commentary from Gavin Emmett and the new multiscreen is pretty good and cheaper than a BT subscription.

I have a 2000 (w reg) 318i E46 saloon. 186k on the clock and still feels like new to drive. I can get upto around 46mpg on long motorway journeys. The only major problem I’ve had is a leaky coolant expansion tank. Be sure to check the things stated by meames above and that it’s been looked after properly.

My site has generated a lot of work, although to be fair my line of work is pretty specialised. The hard part was learning how to get myself to top spot on google for my certain search words. Luckily I have a few friends in SEO/web-design who gave me pointers.. Its a fine art the SEO thing and takes a lot of time and effort not actually just building a site that you like but one that is actually SEO friendly.

I think I fancied the challenge too, although I did feel like I had jumped in the deep end at first! 🙂

Pick up web-hosting with MySQL databases included and build a site in wordpress. Then get yourself a nice premium template from http://themeforest.net

Fairly simple to do and most themes can be easily customised and usually come with instructions in a pdf on how to tweak and customise it.

Thats what I did for my company site and saved a fair bit of money when I started out and I am still using it today: http://www.bachetechnical.com

Far from perfect but gets the job done 🙂
