SEAT Exeo? Audi looks and build at SEAT prices. Older model so most bugs all ironed out. I had one for a year and liked it. Diesel and petrol available (my 2.0 petrol TSI only managed @30mpg though)
There’s a few here for you to browse through £250-£400 watch reviews[/url] I have a G. Gerlach which are a bit left-field and great VFM and I do like the Melbourne Flinders
Quickest and easiest would be a electric plug-in plinth heater. Had one in my old kitchen and worked well – didn’t take long to heat up the room. Not sure if they do thermostatic ones as mine only had 2 speed fan and hot and cold air option (in fact it’s for sale if you are interested)
I recently did the London to Brighton offroad and an additional 25 miles before the start (so 100 miles in total) with the 2.8 Rangers front and rear and it was ace. With those types of distance I think the saddle and chamois pad choice is more important than tyre width!
Can’t say about the carbon but I have the ally version and it’s a riot of fun – if the carbon one is half as good as the ally one it will be brilliant. Lighter wheels would be a bonus as the standard lovemud ones are pretty hefty. Resale value? who cares, I’d doubt you’d sell it as it pretty future proof.
Yep just got the MX24 Dirt (rigid forks) for my 8 yo daughter. Good quality and spec for the money (I got the discounted 2017 model) nice and light with proper shifters, single chain ring, nice and simple. Daughter loves it. Recommended.
+1 for the Orbea MX Dirt – bought one recently for my 8 yo daughter from UK Bike Depot and it’s well made, good spec and (more importantly) light. Did take a couple of weeks to be delivered though. And its available in blue
What shifters have you found best for little hands? I’m looking at getting #2 a 24″ bike and those I’ve seen come with either gripshifts, triggers and thumbshifters. Not sure which is best
Don’t bother – I was in the same position and looked at loads of other bikes – ended up with the Transmitter and haven’t regretted it once – fun to ride with oodles of grip – get one.
I’d add the Sonder Transmitter to your list for no other reason that I have one and it’s a fast and capable bike. For that money you could get this bike
I’ve got a Sonder Transmitter and it puts a grin on my face every time I ride it. I’ve ridden MTB for 20+ years and had numerous bikes but this one was the first I’ve properly gelled with. Plus bikes aren’t just for newbies and I’ve gone faster on this bike than my 26″ full sus – says Strava. Get one you won’t regret it.
I had the Outback Estate version when living in Oz – lovely car, well put together, reliable and massive boot but it drank fuel. Low 20s at best guess.
Not my choice BTW – I just looked on the map and saw it was near the FoD so thought I’d go early and get some riding in. Having never been to Gloucester from the feedback so far it doesn’t sound promising!
That’s similar to what I’m replacing (except only got FM radio) was hoping someone had developed a ipod dock that didn’t rely on tiny tinny speakers. Anyone else recommend me alternatives?
