That’s just yesterday’s lunch getting out to a place of safety. I reckon by 10am at the latest your arse will sound like a load of old shoes falling out of a loft.

^ One of the funniest comments I have read on here. Genius!

I have the Addicts and I have to say that my only (slight) complaint is that they are on the short side, so don’t cover the tops of my pads.

In summary, simply follow NCN 45 from Cricklade and you’ll be sorted

    ^ This.

We do this ride from Old Town to Cricklade and back every week for a pub ride.

It’s old railway tracks for 75% and a bit of road for the rest.

Was on the Western end last night and it’s not great to be honest. The usual 4×4 ruts filled with water and chalk that’s like an ice rink.

I think it was mainly a dodgy batch of 2011/12 carbon models.

    Should all be good now.

Go to Budapest on a tooth holiday

I did this too about 7 years ago. 5-6 trips over there to get it all done (a single tooth) and it was still half the price of the UK including travel and accom.

Fantastic service, price and result. Would recommend 100%, just give me a shout if you want details etc…

Straitline Silent Guide – No moving parts and nice solid machined bash guard.

Not cheap mind but you can pick up a second hand one for under 50 notes.

Mine has been faultless once I got the initial setup sorted and was happy to pay a bit more for something that will last, work and be maintenance free.

You mean – will they be trashed?

Hired a Nukeproof Mega from Torico last summer and that was spot on.

    **shakes head and sighs**

    Utter madness.

I’d be contacting the MBUK, Dirt Mag, Fox, Mojo (very nice touch by them by the way), Loco, TF Tuned, Stif Cycles, CRC and Wiggle Facebook pages as a start with all of this info, hopefully that will start the ball rolling on spreading the word while you get in touch with the relevant people to take this further.

so how do I escalate this?

    Sternly worded letter to RM
    Letter to MP
    Contact Police
    Citizens advice
    Trading standards
    National news papers
    Magazines
    Social media
    Rogue traders
    Watchdog
    ???

    All of the above!

Maybe see if the major mags can pick up the story and start the social media off for you, someone (Dave?) from STW has already commented I think.

It’s bonkers that RM can do this.

Not sure when you’re planning but I went Late Feb / Early March and was one of the first groups out of the season (still knee deep in snow in places).

Fantastic time to go, watched avalanches off the Khumbu icefall!

Freezing cold (think it got down to minus 25 one night) but crystal blue skies.

Had all of the lodges and trails to ourselves too.

    I can recommend Exodus.

I did the Everest Base Camp trip with them a few years ago and the organisation was fantastic (so was the trip if that is your thing).

It’s as cheap or expensive as you want it to be.

Sites like this and mags would have you believe that you couldn’t possibly have any fun unless you spend X amount, but it’s just going out and enjoying what you have.

Are you pinching the tube when getting the tyre on with levers?

Crest’s are really narrow and had the same pinched tube punctures with mine.

    Rock n Roll Extreme

Another vote here. Had to use some wet lube on holiday for a couple of weeks when I forgot to take it with me. I’d forgotten about the horrid black mess that drive chains end up in. Very glad to have fully de-greased when I got home and back to the rock-n-roll.

Can’t give any others but I can say my Phantom is probably the best bit of bike clothing I own. Looks brand new after two winters as well.

^ I’ll second that, love mine.

I wash mine in the bath with some clothes washing powder and really hot water. Swill it all around loads, leave overnight and then rinse in the morning.

Takes a couple of days to dry but always smells alright after.

I think the Panaracer sidewalls are as thin as cigarette paper, perhaps it was this causing movement on the rock and for it to burp off the rim.

Most Maxxis are a better bet, thicker sidewalls.

I have one of those Gravity stands from Ebay and its great. Made really well and sturdy, holds my full sus and road bike in the flat no problems.

You can adjust it to suit any bike but need to cover the arms that hold the bikes with something as they are just bare metal. I just wrapped some gaffa tape round to stop any scratching.

You might as well remove the valve core. Very effective for troublesome rim/tyre combos as well.

    ^This.

The only problem with those adapters is that they screw onto the part that is removable. So you restrict the airflow. I got one and it’s useless in the compressors you find on petrol garage forecourts.

    ^And this.
