You can do it at home quite easily
https://www.bikeradar.com/gear/article/health-are-you-sitting-comfortably-30179/
From what you say its only recently become a problem and was fine for long rides before so what has changed?
Has the current saddle’s padding become too soft/not supportive enough?
Has her padded shorts (if she wears them) become compressed/flattened & worn
Id be more inclined to look at these first if all was ok before on long rides
escrsFree MemberIf they are on eBay or from China etc.. they will be knock offs which have a mix of very little carbon fibre and are mostly fibre glass, when they break (which they will) all those fibre glass strands are gonna hurt you arse and you will have no warranty claim
Ive had a couple of genuine carbon saddles on my road bike, they can be comfortable with the right padded shorts and if any issues do start to arise you have a warranty
escrsFree MemberNever had any probs riding Evian, none of it has been demolished unlike Flytipper
Only thing Ive seen is once you come to the end of Evian there were signs up saying no entry on the left and right climbs by the pool/pit
That was six months ago and they don’t seem to be there now
Never had any issues riding Winterfold but then i tend to go in the week or early morning on the weekends to miss the crowds
escrsFree MemberThey will fit Azonic DS1 & DS1 Evo frames
(my fave hardtail frame)
Had three of them over the years and regret selling them
Think Ive got an old Azonic Eliminator mk1 mech hanger somewhere
escrsFree MemberKinda depends if you want to do specific trails like the following
Barry knows best is fine (never really gets bad)
All the T trails are good
Crackpipe & Yogurt pots are good
Evian was quite boggy along with Northern Monkey, Lovely legs etc…
escrsFree MemberI have a E-mtb
Little background info
Used to cycle 100 miles a week to work, went out on the road bike at weekends, averaged around 5000+ miles a year just on the road bike, im generally quite fit, not a lazy person
Also been a bmx’er for 25+ years and riding mtb’s for the last 15 years
A year or so ago we had our first child, which now means i have to drive to work every day to drop him off at our parents who live near my work, so no more riding to work, no more evening rides
At the weekends my time is limited due to the wife wanting to spend time as a family
So family life has reduced my riding time significantly
The E-mtb is perfect, means i can go out for a ride and cover the same sort of distances in around half the time
If im not pushed for time i can put in eco and change and the settings in the app to give me a real work out (much harder than a normal mtb)
If i didn’t have the E-mtb i would get much less riding done than i do now!
Once the kid grows up enough to be ok on his own or i have more free time ill jump back on a normal bike, till then the E-mtb works perfectly for me
Dont care what people think about E-mtb’s, it allows me to go have fun and unwind in a short amount of time and thats all that matters to me
Most of the people i know who ride don’t ride for fitness, they ride for FUN!!!!!!
Just like they did as kids and guess what E-bikes make riding off road even more fun!!!
escrsFree MemberThey wouldn’t notice anything different lol

escrsFree MemberIve never shortened mine
Ive always fed it back into the frame at the head tube end, making the cable loop back and forth inside the frame, this way it dosent rattle around
Never had any issues or rattles in the 4 years its been like this
escrsFree MemberHad my Specialized Levo Turbo for 8 months now
Flies up the hills making them more fun, can be used if your feeling lazy (Turbo everywhere) or for a proper workout put it in Eco and adjust eco right down in the app or just turn it off and pedal unassisted, Its great fun when there is a group of you on them
Having said all that i will never get rid of my Transition Patrol for the following reasons
It handles better, especially on very twisty trails
Feels better for large drops and jumps, you can just throw it around with ease
Best bit of advice i can give you is join the Levo and Kenevo facebook page before you buy
At some point you will prob have an motor/battery issue which is nothing to worry about as all is covered under warranty but its only when you need warranty work done that you find out how good your dealer is
If your in the south then your very lucky as Chris Reilly at Berkshire cycles is the Levo & Kenevo king, much praise for him on the facebook page
If your elsewhere in the UK you can check with other users who is the most competitive for price and also good for warranty work and who to avoid at all cost!
escrsFree MemberIn one weekend i……
Bent the crank arm on the full susser E-mtb
Snapped the rear mech hanger on the normal full susser
Thought **** this ill go out on the road bike, 5 miles later two punctured tubs!!!!!
escrsFree MemberRaceFace SixC carbon bars, ive got 2 sets both with 35 rise & 35mm clamp area, 800mm wide (can be cut down to as low as 740mm)
They retail around £100 but can be had on eBay in great condition for around £50
escrsFree MemberHad a Scout and now have a Patrol
The Scout was great, very capable, great climber, good all round, only reason i got a Patrol was because i got offered a great deal and wanted to try one, would have another Scout in a flash
My friend still has his Scout and he’s happy throwing it and himself down Bike Park Wales black runs with no issues
escrsFree MemberTop Tip
Measure your waist with a tape measure then check out their sizing chart before you order
Saves disappointment when you have to return them due to not fitting
I’m a 34in waist in jeans, have been for years, measured my waist and it comes up as 40in!! so i had to buy 3xl Tenn shorts
Turns out jean manufacturers measurements aren’t accurate!!!
escrsFree MemberAnother one for a Brand x dropper
Ive got a reverb on one bike and a brand x on the other bike
The Reverb just had a service which cost £90 (before i knew about brand x)
Once it dies it will be replaced with a Brand x
My brand x is being used with a Specialized dropper lever with no probs
escrsFree MemberIve got a reverb on one bike and a brand x on my other bike
If i ever have to replace the reverb it will be with another brand x dropper
Reverb costs £200+ with a 2 year warranty, once out of warranty they cost £90 to be serviced by the likes of tf tuned
The brand x costs £90 with a 2 year warranty, once it dies after 2 years of use just go buy another one
Ive also had a specialized irrc dropper and a ks lev
The brand x beats them all!!!
escrsFree MemberIve had a scout and a patrol
The scout was great for trail riding, small jumps & drops, great climber
Unfortunately i went a bit too mad on it and ended up snapping the swing arm, Transition’s UK distro replaced it for free very quickly and were surprised it snapped where it did
Ended up selling the bike once fixed and bought a patrol
The patrol is great for trail riding, especially downhill and larger jumps/drops, its ok for climbing but not as good as the scout
The scout is ideal if your not planning on doing any big jumps or drops, it was quite surprising how much the 125mm rear end could handle
escrsFree MemberJust swapped from 3.0 specialized Purgatory grids to 2.8 Hutchinson Toro Koloss
Has made a big difference, a lot more sidewall traction, shed the mud much better and have better clearance
escrsFree MemberI don’t mind riding in the rain or in muddy conditions, its makes it more fun
What i dislike is the clean up afterwards, especially as the bike has to go into the back of the car then when i get back home it has to go through the house to be washed along with me as im caked in mud
Ive now got a portable washer to get the worst of the mud off before the bike goes back in the car
escrsFree MemberTrick with tubeless is to make sure everything is taped nice an smooth & covering the whole rim bed but not butted up against the rim sidewall, fit the tyres with tubes in them to pop the beads on to the rim then remove the tube making sure one bead stays nice and tight on the rim
refit the other bead and leave a small gap to pour in your sealant, then fit the rest of the bead, this is where a good set of tyre levers are needed (Pedros)
Normally i can air up using a good track pump (topeak joe blow pump)
If the pump wont air up the tyre then a Co2 canister does the job
Ive done all kinds or rim/tyre combos this way inc 3in plus tyres, 4in fat bike tyres, even ghetto tubeless my son’s pushchair wheels 8)
escrsFree MemberIve always used what ever the cheapest/whats on sale that i can find
So far Ive used
Stans no tubes
Decathlon’s B’twin sealant
Specialized airlock
Hutchinson protect air max
Barbieri Anti-puncture SealantAll have done their job when needed, and lasted around 6 months before needing to be topped up/changed
Never had any problems airing up and getting the tyre to seal using them
escrsFree MemberCheck out
http://www.pwsfinishing.co.uk/
Highly regarded in the Bmx world, they take good care when handling your frame, do a excellent job at a reasonable price and make sure its well protected for posting back to you
Check out some their work here, its a 10 year thread and its still going strong, Superbike Dan is the owner of PWS finishing & an ex pro bmx’er
escrsFree MemberIve used open street map and talky toaster with no issues over the years
Only issue Ive had is returning a perfectly good Garmin 800 for a cracked screen repair and getting an exchange unit that loses map detail and turns off when you press on the screen, unfortunately i didn’t find this out till after the 3 months warranty had expired!
escrsFree MemberI wear Oakley glasses with prescription lenses (transition lenses)
They are fine for trail riding in a normal helmet
When riding downhill (BPW)for example) wearing a full face with glasses and a set of Oakley Googles (L frames, designed for glasses)i found that it felt like my eyes were rattling around my head
Swapped over to my contacts and all was good, you will get some fogging with any googles in certain conditions, best to get some with good vents
Ive got a dark lens and a clear one depending on the light conditions
