The convertor is connected to the fusebox via a 5a piggyback fuse, its using a slot that already contains a 5a fuse (cant remember what the other 5a fuse is powering but i remember it was something that isnt used often)

The convertor was bought from here and they have sold 100’s according to ebay

    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/172980727576?_skw=dc+dc+converter+5v&itmmeta=01JA7P9NEF65FR8K9RNGQZ01X5&hash=item2846746f18:g:bdsAAOSwmBhaCMX2&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA8Mxmj%2BiGvOveHXEBClPb29jBHuqMM9BeZaOTjd5MkmkL3zrtCiDtxJiZNn3mvEjgbWh3vGv7KlsACAw%2Bgrbcd173qHz%2FP%2B0EOGPxQ3FxnkD%2B07HtNpF0%2FMv2m2V%2Ftd1REdnJY9wyKg0%2BrLUZH8djcAk45xvlxzbAl1ELQxgv9kMScHSGAaenre5IkyQh2ay5ogL0Ul9EX68AemQUmP4HLXvpjD0U%2BbHVhFQzekSUDbkPDYcvLJMnVEZMvKwH0Q8UYPrc0SceWMYMmWcYXyyMns400YvdpL2ZR1%2FWvGq3Tr1h5ZEAjj12YWQXj7ElvFtt%2BA%3D%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR6rXpvbRZA&var=471745492476

This is not for a TV, its connected to an Alpine Halo 9in display headunit, the van has basic van electrics, no inverters or 240 hook up etc….

Tool board but make it so the Allen wrenches are laid out with each one’s handle at the opposing ends so they take up the least amount of space, draw around them and mark on the board their size next to the handle, then lay the board in the drawer

That way they will fit in with the least amount of wasted space, you can easily see if one is missing and see what size you need, you may need to make some kind of stopper or use something grippy on the board to stop them sliding around when you open/close the drawer

Ages ago,I bought one of the Lifeline ones.

You could work around it,but the amount of play annoyed me,so I took it apart and shimmed it.

I had the same issue with a Lifeline one 5 years ago, lots of play, returned it for a refund and just bought a new hanger instead, that fixed my shifting issues and ive not needed an alignment tool since, in fact in the last 35 years of working on 100’s of bikes that’s the only time ive ever needed one (tempting fate!)

    Forgot to update this

So we cancelled contract with VM which had 30 days left to run, within 2 days retentions called us and offered to drop the price for Broadband only to £30, we refused and hung up, 2 hours later they called back and offered us the new user price of £27 a month for their 256gb download which we took so there was no need to use an old phone and a data only sim card as a router for one month

No-one is allowed to sell second hand helmets, and it’s been like that for years. Makes sense IMO.

For that reason anyone selling a second-hand helmet lists it as new, which may or may not get picked up and removed

Dont think that is true, i can see a lot of helmets for sale and they say pre owned/used on the listing details

Nice but not the nicest ive ever seen

As said the stem dosent suit the bike, also for me the bottom headset cup stands out, why have an internal top cup and a external bottom? would look better with the top and bottom cups being internal (this bothered me on my old Planet X Tempest)

Also carbon bottle cages? would look better with some King Cage bottle cages

Cheers, just been looking at the Noble chairs

I can get a Noble Epic in real leather for £500, which is the same price as a PU leather Titan Evo which is tempting

    Cheers

From what ive read the Titan is quite stiff and a few people complain about it, biggest problem is actually sitting in one before i buy as it seems if you dont get on with it and try to return for a refund its quite expensive due to the size and weight of them

Ive been looking at the Corsair’s range of seats, cheaper than Secret labs and are stocked by the likes of Curry’s etc.. so more chance of sitting in one before purchase and easy to return if not suited

Personally i prefer it when a buyer has their number availible to me

Not that i want to call them but when im booking their item for collection i can put their phone number in and Royal Mail will send them txt updates of where the parcel is and when its arriving and let them know of any issues

Why dont you want someone having your number? what’s the worst they can do, call you up and you can hang up and block them if you want to

The fact they already have your address having your phone number seems like a non issue to me but not everyone sees it like that

You cant, once its in and dried that’s pretty much game over im afraid

That’s one of the reasons i no longer run tubeless on road bikes, high pressure and sealant means you get sprayed up your back before the sealant can do its job, then you have some lovely dubious looking stains all over your arse and back forever, even worse when your kit costs a few hundred quid

    Laptop is also now fixed!

Windows update was saying i had no driver updates for the wifi adaptor, checked the laptop’s manufactuer’s assistant program and again no update showing for the wifi adaptor

Went to the manufactuer’s website, manually searched for my laptop and in the update section i found a newer version of the driver for my wifi adapator, manually installed it and im now getting full speeds, not sure why windows and the assisant program couldnt detect the new driver but its all sorted now

    Cheers

Cheers for all the replies, not interested in 2nd cars, track cars, hot hatches etc.. been there done that, always end up spending more time fixing/tinkering than actually using them and then also needing to find the time to use them

Just want one car that can take the whole family, a bike or two when needed, something thats quick and a V8, not interested in Merc’s or BMW’s (been there) im only interested in the RS6

Will be going to look at a few in the next couple of months to narrow somethings down and get an idea of what to look out for

So the mesh system is now fixed and im getting 270mbps speeds over the mesh system to my phone

It seems the main Deco mesh unit which is directly connected to the router via ethernet cable and has 2 ethernet ports on the rear has a dodgy port, swapped the cable over into the 2nd port and all is good!

Now just need to work out why im not getting full speed with the laptop

    escrs

    1. I expect your laptop has a slower standard of WiFi chipset than your phone, e.g. WiFi 4 Vs WiFi 6. This is assuming they’re connecting to the same WiFi network from the same room/location. Does the network support 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz? Check which one the laptop is connecting to. Some routers split them out with different SSID names, some have them with the same name.

Laptop is WiFi 5 and is using the 5ghz band, the phone is WiFi6

Yes they are connected to the same wifi network from the same room and im doing it sat in the same location

Network supports 2.4 and 5GHz and laptop is connected to 5GHz

    2. I had a tenda mesh system. It maxed out at 100mb as the ethernet port used to connect to the modem/router had a max speed of 100mb. So even though my internet and routers getting 250mb the mesh was capped at 100mb. Also it can be a setting on devices so login to the web interface on the mesh system and the modem/router to check the WAN port is set to 1 GB rather than 100 mb.

So ive already set the wan port on the mesh system to 1GB and it made no difference

Oh also check that your ethernet cable is gigabit and not just 100mb.

Cable is a Gigabit cable, came brand new from one of the I.T guys at my old job, he gave me two, tried the other one in case mine was dodgy, no change in speed

Check what your Total Bandwidth setting is on the Deco app – it’s under the More->QoS section.

Total bandwidth is set to 1000mbps down and 1000 mbps up

TP-Link say the Deco is capable of 1167mbps so not sure why i can only get 80mbps on 270mbps connection

GiffGaff  sell sim free phones and you can buy them on interest free credit for upto 3 years and then you can buy a sim only deal from a provider of your choice

This is what i did for my phone, 24 months intrest free from GiffGaff @£20 a month then I.D mobile sim only rolling contract, unlimited calls and txt, 60gb of data for £10 a month as they get the best reception in my area

Best of all there is no yearly price index increase unlike when you buy a phone and 24 month contract from a single company

Wheels are becoming increasingly difficult to find for rim braked, QR bikes.

I see plenty for sale on FB marketplace 2nd hand for very good prices (£200 for lightly used carbon wheels with 25mm new tyres fitted) Tubular versions seem real cheap as no one really wants them anymore

The first disc road bikes came with 100mm & 135mm QR disc wheels, then came along 100mm & 135mm disc wheels with thru axles using 15mm on the front and 12mm on the rear, these wheels are getting harder to find!

So it looks like i should be in the position to buy one in the new year (will be using inhertance money from a feckless father who left no will) which gives me plenty of time to do some more research and go and look at some cars, do some test drives etc…

2nd hand carbon rim brake bikes are stupidly cheap now

Been trying to sell this Colnago C59 rim brake frameset for a while now with no takers even when sending the watchers an offer of £500 (was 3.5k new for just frame and fork)

Im guessing the chainstay rub and paint cracking around the headtube is putting people off

They havent got any worse in 5 years of me using it but i can understand why some people would be concerned, just wonder how much im going to have to drop the price to actually sell it

I’m curious – how much is a tyre?

£250 a corner for Pirelli P Zero, Conti Sport, Michelin Pilot 4S,  Goodyear Eagle F1 etc…

Better to get a specialist check it over before purchase?

Pretty sure most dealers arent going to let me take a specialist along and stick the car on the ramp and spend 30-60 mins checking everything over

Have you read the ph buyers guide?

Cheers for that, ive just read through it, nothing has put me off so far

Have you looked at a warranty quote?

No, i dont do after sales warranties, most are not worth the electronic paper they are written on and the ones that are will be stupidly expensive , a few of the RS6’s ive looked at online come with 1 years dealer warranty, if anything were to go wrong after that then id just deal with it, obviously id check all the known issues/recalls have been sorted

Id be keeping the car for 3 or so years and i do 5k a year so it would be still under 80k come resale time, tyres and brakes seem to to be the main cost which isnt a big issue, ive got quite a few mates who work for or own independant garages and 2 are manager’s of some large tyre fitter companies so i can get discounts on tyres/brakes and general repair work

How do all the bike shops get there ebikes delivered?  There must be some company that delivers.. ?

Brand new e bikes are shipped in the manufactuers box, packed and checked over by the manufactuer/bike shop not by joe public who the delivery company have no idea what they have done inside the box or what condition the battery may be in

I do have an exposure axis I use for nightriding off road I could put in one of those but it’s a little overkill / I’d rather not hammer the battery on it with commuting.

My Exposure Diablo has been fine for commuting for the last 5 years, gets used 5 days a week, sometimes twice a day, still on the original battery, still lasts a week of commuting before needing to be charged (around 3 hours total use for the week)

You could buy a Garmin Gopro adaptor mount to fit to the bottom of your Garmin mount, then attach an Exposure Trace Gopro mount to that so it moves your Trace light from your handlebars to underneath your Garmin freeing up space on your bars to fit a light for seeing where you are going that can be easily clipped in and out when need be

This is what i did on my work bike, so my Exposure Trace is under my Garmin and my Exposure Diablo is ftted to the underside of my the bars using the standard mount, both are quick and easy to remove/fit as they just clip in and out

I’d take a wild guess the OP is with Virgin Media.

Yes im with Virgin Media, been with them for 17 years, happy with everything apart from the price

Can your partner just sign up as a new customer for the date you’ll be leaving them. Different name, bank account etc.

That dosent work with Virgin Media, as its the same address and we have the same surname you have to leave for 30 days then sign up as a new customer, otherwise you could just sign up as a new customer each year to get the best deals

Im not gonna pay out for a router for just to be used for one month, the spare phone will do the job

We get 5G in the house with the network we want to use so all good there

The boy will just have to deal with reduced internet if it comes to it, he’s only 7 so not using the internet much, i can get an unlimited data plan for £20 with no speed cap and tethering is fine so will prob go for that one

    Did you get this fixed?

Ive got the same issue, if in cogs 11 or 12 and i stop pedalling abruptly the chain sags for a split 2nd and hits the chainstay

Everything is brand new and has been double checked and works fine on their own

Checked everything over and swapped wheels, cassettes and rear mechs from other bikes and it only does it when its got the 11-52 Shimano fitment Brand X cassette fitted, if i fit a Shimano 105 11-36 cassette then there are no issues (drivetrain is all Sram apart from the cassette)  so looks to be the cassette causing the issue

Strange as ive other bikes with 10-52 Sram XD cassettes and they dont have this issue, im wondering if its the combo of a Sram chain and the Brand X cassette causing this

Next thing to try is buy a Sram XD freehub body for my wheels and fit a spare Sram 10-52 cassette and see if that fixes the issue

So the Forerunner 965 has been ordered from Garmin

Got it for £480 in the end due to Garmin’s birthday day sale and the wife’s work discount scheme, so saved £120 over the price all the other shops are selling them for

MTB is tubeless, carrying a tyre plug kit, spare tube and C02 cannsiter just incase, no punctures in 3 years

Nice road bike is running tubes, tried tubeless for 2 years, got fed up of the mess it made of the bike, my kit and me when it didnt do its job and then i had to fit a tube to get me home creating more mess which when i got home i had to go through again to repair the tyre with a boot, my good road bike now runs TPU tubes and a tube type tyre, works out around 160 grams per wheel lighter than running the equivalent tubeless tyre, valve and sealant compared to the TPU tube and tube type tyre, no punctures so far, carry a spare TPU tube just in case

Work bike still running normal tubes, reason being is it runs Scwalbe Durano Plus tyres as my commute is very debris ridden (most puncture proof road bike tyre there is) and they dont like being run tubeless (i tried & kept ending up with the tread bubbling up!) no punctures in the last 2 years and the last one was becuse the tyre had worn down to the blue protection strip!

Gravel bike is running tubeless, at 50 psi any puncture should seal ok, TPU tube as a spare, tyre plug kit and Co2 cannister

Antonelli confirmed at Merc. Don’t really get that given his F2 performance and the test but good to see some new blood at the front!

I appluad Merc for promoting within but its a big risk,  Antonelli didnt compete in F3, he hasnt even completed his first season in F2 yet, there’s a reason the big teams tend to farm out upcoming drivers to the teams in the lower field (Rebull- Cash app, Ferrari-Hass, Merc used to use-Williams) i wonder what will happen if he’s not upto the job half way through next season, will they let Mick in the car?

Williams seem to be cutting all ties with Merc as they can (bar using their engine) since James took over as team principal, also no longer taking paid drivers and concentrating on getting the best non paid drivers they can and developing within which hopefully will help them return to the top

I wonder how George feels about Antoelli being promoted straight into the Merc seat given how long it took George to get his Merc drive whilst at Williams, even when Bottas was underperforming in the Merc, Once George proved himself as a super sub for Hamilton Bottas seat was his, Antoelli hasnt done any of this and has been parachuted into the Merc for next year

£7.50 is the average price for a pint of Peroni in the Southampton/Portsmouth/Chichester stretch of the south coast area

As for Oasis, i was more a Blur fan, although i liked Noel’s collabs with The Chemical bros on setting sun and let forever be

    Liam is just a ****

Ive quite few friends who are posting and chatting about this all excited, for me it was always inevitable they would reunite, it just needed enough money and/or them needing money due to another reason (in this case Noel’s divorce)

Hopefully they will pull it off and everyone will enjoy it rather than it be a let down, somethings are better left in the past

Yeah I looked at Coral Reef in Bracknell

Works out at over £50 for an hour and 30 min swim, add on fuel and food and it approaches £100, we could take a walk round Swinley Forest whilst we are there

Aquadrome in Basingstoke comes in at £23 for an hour and there is plenty to do/food around, the Spectrum is £30 for an hour and 30mins and again lots of things to do around

The one with tons of parcels on the back seat, parcel shelf and every other nook and kranie in the car, none of it secure and im betting thier insurance policy does not include business use

Always see them driving around with their rear screen and rear side windows blocked, didnt realise how bad it was until an Amazon delivery depot opened up on my commute route, riding to work has got considerably more dangerous!
