Have the Garmin 610. This was a replacement for the 210’s I had that had screen fogging issues. Got mine from http://www.heartratemonitors.co.uk who’s customer service was first class. The virtual partner is good and the touch screen works ok. It’s smaller than most of the other watches which fits better on the wrist and you can wear it as a proper watch as well.

call a mate and ask him to go Trailquesting in a few weeks – you can even bring your new camera???? Always try another weekend away if you want – i’ve plenty of leave still, Steve -another CYB October trip – promise to bring my shoes this time….. and not throw up on the boat, probably

Your mojo is still there, honest, mate – there have been plenty of times this year i’ve gone out, but once out couldn’t be bothered to ride the bike and just gone and sat somewhere with a view instead….

    Busted :-)
Away for the trailquest unfortunately. Go away on the 20th training course 28th and then jury service 3rd of November so things aren’t getting any easier.
Oh and Stevio there have been so many things since shoegate :-)

OwenP you mentioned back pain? Anything you could do easily, like a change of stem/ bars, to make it more tolerable?

Back pain isn’t bike related just unfortunate 1st time digging in the garden the second picking up a wheel at work.

I’m also not in need of a new bike or project so maybe I need a challenge. what though I don’t know I did a marathon last year and lost a couple of stone prior to that. Which also helped bike fitness. Strangely enjoyed the marathon and was hoping to do this years but the back put pay to that.

the most important thing you can do though, is to sit on your bike and start pedaling.. the rest will take care of itself.

This seems to be the most difficult part at the moment :-)

I refuse to call them ‘Thongs’ and flip flops is way too pom.

Which would be the very reason I’d call them flip flops

He may just be playing devils advocate which is fine there are two sides to any argument. This is purely the destruction of a creature in a horrible way and why to protect a business. What effect do these introduce species have on native insects and fauna when these birds are released on mass. It’s a poor game keeper who doesn’t embrace his environment because lets face it if they are in business does it not make sense to encourage people to come and see these beautiful birds bringing more money in the off shooting season. There are plenty of people out there who’d pay good money to see them!

Possible motives – to stop it taking lambs or young game birds, depending on where it is?

    And this would be justification?
Lets be somewhat realistic. Eagles are hardly going to decimate the population of lambs, game birds or small children.

Three days was about enough for us. We would however go again. I would do the Empire State Again but pre book the tickets seems to save a bit of time. There’s also a good brew pub at the bottom of the Empire State http://www.heartlandbrewery.com/Empire_State.php
Loads of other things to do. We enjoyed Central Park. Just waking through and people watching was ace. Strawberry Fields was a bit disappointing but each to their own. Statue of liberty well we did the cheapo version and got the Staton Island ferry which is free and sails close enough to get great views.
Get a ticket for one of the tour bus’s and you can get on and off as you please.
Time square had a good vibe when we were there you just need to be bit sensible like you would in any built up city.
You could try to tie things in with one of the city parades like St paddys day.

These look a little on the heavy side you might be better going for the 8×42 version.Nikon sporter 8×42
If it was me I’d tend to avoid the zoom ones.
Opticron review these get good review and look decent value for money. Hopefully someone has used these and can recommend them but doesn’t look like you’d go far wrong with them.

    Here’s my efforts then.
As a kid I was in bed fast asleep. I woke to a find a figure at the bottom of my bed stood upright as if looking at me.
It was tall very tall had a black cloak on and a skeletal body that you could see through his open cloak but his head had horns almost like a minotaur but it’s features were slightly more human.
So as you do as a kid you protect yourself by throwing the covers over your head. After a few seconds I peeped out of the covers and this giant horned face was looking at me absolutely craping myself I again turned over and hid under the covers eventually dropping off to sleep and no more episodes with the evil intruder.
When I lumbered out of bed the following morning I told my Mum this story. Her response was that our next door neighbor had had a massive heart attack in the night and had been rushed into hospital.
Did the reaper come to the wrong house? Who knows but if so it bought our neighbor enough time to survive.
Maybe just my over excitable imagination as I can give myself the willies while riding down the railway tracks in the dark but I hope I never find it standing at the bottom of my bed again.

Like your bike you need to try before you buy. Espcially if you and your partner are using them and try in different light conditions as well as they will vary performance wise.
We have a set of Leica which are great lenses but very expensive. They were £600 secondhand over 10yrs ago. They are great quality but one down side is they are quite heavy. Things have probably moved on a bit these days but they were worth every penny and look a performe as good now as the day we got them. We have also got a really old set of ziess which are nice and light and again good lenses. We also have an Opticron scope which has been great value for money and again a great piece of kit so would certainly look at their bins.
RSPB do plenty and they do Demo days and have stuff set up at their reserves. These guys are good if your close to them[/url]
Nikon get good review and also Bushnell.
One other thing to remember is if you where glasses then keep them on while using them and make sure the bins can cope with that.

I bought one of these off my Snap On dealer to use at work but was so impressed it’s now at home. Works a treat. I gave up on a steel after buying this really impressive for such a simple idea.

No-one broadcasts at 1080P I think so all you end up with is what the TV can upscale to – which is why people say don’t sit too close,

Your right about no one broadcasting in 1080p at the moment but does Sky not broadcast in 1080?
So if this is the case then a HD ready 720 is a waste of time.
The OP needs to tell his budget. His requirements because buying an led tv with a 50/100hz refresh rate would severely restrict his viewing enjoyment if he watches fast moving sport and plays COD online because he should be aiming towards a Plasma if this is the case.

    eruptron

Oh and watch out for the phrase HD ready. I would try to avoid these.

    Try AV Forum.http://www.avforums.com/forums/tvs/
It depends on budget and what you want tv to do. John lewis have 5 year guarantee on their tv’s and Panasonic now have 5year guarantee on selected models.
    Led of plasma?
    What do you watch?
Plasma would be better for sport or online gaming due to lag time Led Movies.

I found it slow and limited when I had a play on it.

In what way Kelvin? Just out of interest. considering you can running several operations consecutively unlike other tablets.
I’ve had little problem with mine they all have their qwerks but £109 Is a bargain. I use mine for browsing FB movies and Music mostly and it does it well. Couldn’t justify spending any more on one and pretty glad I didn’t.

I am a chauvinist, probably, but I can live with that and the wife takes no notice.
My point being that a suspect who has a history of violence, known to use weapons and likely to use them, presented with a one on one a woman is far less likely to be able to defend herself.
BBC. News reported that they were attending a routine call and have obviously stumbled upon something more sinister.
Are you suggesting that only police officer without any family and are old should attend in case they die. Some very odd views on here

    “Can’t go wrong”.

    Famous last words.
    Try before you buy

Had one for the last 12 months! It’s been good I don’t use many apps which is where it falls down slightly. You can now side load android apps apparently. Movies its good, Internet its good, email its good its a handy size for travel or just sat on the couch watching porn if that’s your bag it can handle flash unlike ipad. So tried and liked and for £109 I personally think it’s a bargain and at that price if you drop it or it get’s nicked then your not going to cry like a baby.

Have a look at the BB Playbook. £109 at PC World. Can’t go far wrong at that price. Good size easy to carry while away and if it gets robbed at that price it won’t make you cry.
I’ve had mine about 12months and it’s been real handy. Only down side for some people has been if they are big on apps (doesn’t really bother me)
    Movies,music,Internet have been spot on.
The one big down side is no Skype but has BB video chat if you know someone else with a BB that works ok.

My first instinct was that it’s a baby Goldfinch(maybe a bit late in the year though). But could be a willow warbler or chiff chaff difficult to tell from the photo.
Checked out the RSPB bird identifier might give you a clue.
