My son’s played league since he was 7 & it’s been full contact from day one .
Most of the lads seem to wear one at that age , but most get rid as their confidence grows & then never go back . I’ve seen lots of clashes of heads over the years with cuts & bruises that could have been avoided , but it’s each to their own really .
I’d say get one & see how it goes ,they’re not too expensive nowerdays .
My son still wears his – tried it without , but he said it just felt weird without it & so always wears one ( u15’s now ).

I’m just wanting an all in one job simply because I’ve all my old vinyl stuck upstairs doing nothing. It’d obviously be better to spend a few bob on something decent , but I’m not really looking at collecting or anything ( at the mo anyway !) , so just want something to play them back on – they might be scratched to hell anyway .
I’ll try & drop on something on eBay – although that’s usually collect only & in Devon ….or somewhere else miles away from Wakefield!

1.9 bombproof ! – don’t make me laugh . Be careful & look on the log book – if the engines code starts with bse ( Google it to check , could be bxe) then steer clear . They were made with cheap con rods & they’ll fail , put a big hole in the side of your engine & cost a fortune . Happened to me , and lots of other people too ..so beware .

Google’d it – i remember it now …tapioca was frogspawn & semolina was like walpaper paste ( at our school anyway ) – bleugh !!

I always thought semolina & tapioca were the same thing …..frogspawn .Obviously not though ( might need to google them ) .
I did like rice pudding with a blob of jam in the middle ,which i could whisk about to turn it pink though – at least this was a step back to normal stuff .
