this pisses me off from a service i pay for.

i like it and use it a lot. i especially enjoy opening it on my desktop and planning routes using heatmap while looking at the recent rides of the fastest locals, so you dont end up down some obsolete overgrown or decrepit trial. im also nosey and like to see where the good local riders are going, and if they have found something new to me. thirdly its brilliant to see people riding trails ive dug myself! i also like the social side of it, because we all have the same common interest, no bullshit.

think im gonna go full XT M8100. £330 from ze germans. includes cranks but no chain ring strangely, but i see burgtec have brought one out for the shimano 12 speed groups so prob get one of them…

i know some 11sp chainrings will work, but 96bcd are out of stock in decent flavours. ive read several threads that tell me the current XTM800 chainring not compatible. plus the individually adding the cassette/mech/shifter/chain + a new chainring is adding up to more than a full group anyway.

i assume they have not bothered to modify the minimum segment length? so many short/steep descents near me that you cant segment…

back and forth loads. went from only alloys to a carbon cube stereo which was replaced with an alloy transition, swapped that for an alloy kona process, then a carbon YT, then a alloy orange, then carbon kona, then alloy stumpy – next up is a carbon np reactor.

no issues riding a carbon frame, but cba with carbon anything else, in particular bars and wheels.

it is cliche ridden, but thats not necessarily a bad thing, its a show about gangsters! there is plenty wrong with it but its generally decent. my biggest gripe is the two dons (Ed and Finn) of this billion pound uber violent empire are the less menacing than Burt and Ernie! but one episode (#5) is a standout one of the best hours of TV ive seen.

weird, ive been meaning to make a post on the same subject. all my gloves are in ribbons, even the new ones! i hate a glove thats too big and bunches up, but my fingers always end up sprouting out of smaller ones, or they get ripped trying to get them on and off plus they get snagged on thorns or gate posts etc. new gloves are often ready for the bin within a couple of weeks. i like riding without, but that always ends in tears too…

perhaps time to try spending a bit more on them… £37 seems alot for gloves, but if they outlast 2 pairs of twentyquidders….
