I reside in Wimbledon, lovely place with very good links to town. Got the common and Richmond park close by and 15 mins to Waterloo, plus distric and/or Northern Line depending where you live.

£1k a month is certainly doable.

I appreciate it when my friends take a pic of some good looking food. And to get the good you need the bad too. I say let them carry on! If you don’t like don’t look!

In any case their appearance is largely irrelevant

Appearance is everything for the majority. If it is nice to look at aand nice to use then it stands a chance. Thats why it too android such a long time to mature, while apple managed it on the first iphone/ipad tops looks and top quality of interaction – the *limited* usability was not an issue.

Google have nailed this with Android now and there are some quality handsets out there (I dont mean big processors, memory etc – but nice to look at and use)

    Appearance is everything

but it is still a BMW.

Could pick up a Skyline R34 GTR for that price!

Nowt wrong with a beemer – probably some of the best cars on the market, when you consider all aspects. And you deffo can’t pick up a new Skyline for that price either.

    i like that vauxhall

If you want to go posh merino and don’t want to fork out for Icebreaker, Red Ram is there budget brand and very damn good imho

But still not a bargain. If thats what you are after get yourself down TKMaxx – also a decent range of cheap base layers in my local

I went back at 25 (ok not that mature) and don’t regret it in the slightest.

Negatives – quite used to having money, I was probably earning £18k at the time (10yrs ago) which was OK and when I left my first job was for the same £££ – kinda depressing

Positives – great time and great people and now I earn a whole lot more – did a degree help? For me I would say yes and I probably wouldn’t look at a CV that wasn’t from a graduate now when I recruit.

    Sony

They used to be the high end electronic brands now I wouldn’t touch them for anything but gaming now. Samsung for Apple now in most cases…

I would have to disagree with Burberry – it was really only in the UK it because the chav brand, in the rest of the world it was still exclusive. And now I think it has regained it position in the UK as quality highend – its just the middle class still remember the good old chavvy days!

I think my photography workflow needs to be looked at first, since that determines whether or not 100Gb is enough.

Maybe a new thread is in order.

Molgrips – I had the same esp with the backup of RAW as they were taking up a phenomenal amount of space and hate just deleting them. Thats why I looked into Bitcasa – I can just drop all my Raw’s onto the cloud as a perm backup and just process the ones I want to use locally.

Well I use both Dropbox and Google – the main issue with them is they tend to sync to your local machine rather than add extra space. But both are very good too.

I am currently testing Bicasa and so far I am really impressed – esp with infinite capacity and the ability to use it as an pure external drive (ie not being stored locally) and as a sync drive live DB and Gdrive.

How do you make your living?
    Financial Planning and Analysis

    Are you happy doing it?
    Very

Would you consider a change of career?
    No

Does it pay enough for you to MTB comfortably?
Yup – but my needs are simple

I had a major jake and it was awesome. Though I prefer the slightly more relaxed geometry of the Tricross, but that a personal thing I guess.

In short CX bikes are awesome fun!

No one has mentioned Sonos…..? Would be my choice without going Hifi…

Scalable from a single Play3 to a pair of Play5’s and a Sub without including the new Playbar.

They may not be uber hifi (though my ZP90 is plugged into a Naim DAC and setup….) but they are really quite damn good.

    I too wouldn’t touch bose

Very, very slowly with plenty of liquid. Pot roast in other words.

    worse than an old netbook

If they sort out boot up times, PC’s may stand a chance again. But the iPad is so much better as a media consumption device than a laptop.

I love all this isheep stuff – really makes me laugh

Anyways, love or hate Apple, what they are doing is providing a certain quality of service which other manufactures cannot really provide due to vast flexibility of hardwear/software.

For example – my father in law wanted a tablet, he asked me what to get and I said ipad mini – he shuddered at the price as he saw, what to him seemed like a better specced android pad at Maplin, so he bought it. It was SHOCKINLY bad and he has returned it, but it has basically put him off any ‘pad due to technology fright. Conversely my disabled aunt, who it completely useless with tech, bought one and uses it daily with no issues at all, albeit in a basic form compared to power users.

I am not even going to claim Apple is better than the others, what I am saying despite their high price they provide a good user experience (except for the people who go into it expecting the world…)which counts for an awful lot. There is no way I would recommend a non-tecchy an android phone or tablet – though they are much better than the older ones.

Also you can walk into an apple shop if you have a problem and you have a much better chance of getting some semi useful support. And if the item is in warranty and there is a hardware issue, they will usually just swap it on the spot. I have know loads of people who have done this.

    btw I use a S3 and ipad.

There’s a large green parrot living wild near Llanberis slate mines.

Saw it once last year and doubted my eyesight.
Saw it sat in a tree and heard it screeching whist walking up to the main splitting shed from Bus Stop quarry at Deiniolen on Saturday. Big thing, made a hell of a racket.

    No one believes me.

I see flocks of parakeets every days in London! They are pretty cool but some people hate them

I did Oktoberfest for mine – was possibly the funniest 48 hours of mine life. A true nightmare to organise though.

Second choice was the Bull Run.
