I have a KRUPS GVX2 and its great. A Hario hand grinder is a great option too

I would question your need for a CD player at all – there are heaps of streaming options which include internet radio (no need for Dab) – I personally think Sonos is a great solution.

Will it sound as good, probably not – will you listen to more music? Likely.

I just hope someone introduces the Italian Beef sandwich (the Chicago kind) soon – getting bored of all this pulled pork!

Don’t know why it took so long! Being an American in the UK I have missed all the dude food from back home.

Smoked meat and proper burgers – about time!

one thing I was curious about is what happens if there was a need to close the Thames barrier, say the same conditions as the spring high tide and high northerly winds we had a while back. Record flows on the Thames and you’ve put a Dam up !?

I have been wondering this and decided after discussions at work that the barrier generally only goes up for a short period of time during high tides.

    Well that my uneducated guess

I fly to Chicago regularly and rarely pay more than £600 – booked 2 flights last week for £575 each on United.

Find a teacher or a student to get you educational discount and knock 20% off and get all the upgrades.

Personally I am waiting for the next iteration which would presumably have a retnia display.

For me it was cheaper to get a complete discounted virgin package ie Phone, BB and TV and hot have the phone connected than it was to get the same BB and TV package on their own.

    Go figure.

I also have the Krups, I know yours broke but I am a big fan and think its perfect for non espresso grinding tasks, which are arguably less sensitive than esspresso machines but still require top quality fresh beans.

A Sonos would do both – it can play via phono or the track on your iphone directly.

    Plus many other things!

I wish!!! I shudder at the bill for the hand laying and restoring of the reclaimed parquet my wife has chosen.

But for normal stuff, seems steep.

Or based upon another post, spend £420 on their PCP financed cars

Well we do need to escape the city now and then and as a % of take home, its acceptable.

I think you basically need two incomes in a household to be anything like comfortable.

This probably hits the nail on the head. Hence why couples work/play hard on their 50k-100k salaries and then move to the country (or surrey) to have kids.

But personally if I were to buy a car today it would be the new 335d xdrive with no options at £414 @ 3.9% a month direct from BMW. Its a beast 320hp (0-60 in sub 5sec) and real world 45mpg.
Interesting. Will a 3 saloon take bikes easily enough? I’m looking at the 3GT just so I can keep them inside – it’s massive.

You’ll get one in the back but really you’d want to go rack or roof option. I am kicking myself as much as I like my new 1 series I wouldn’t have hesitated for the 335d which wasn’t available at the time. My dealer said bmw are doing a pre release offer hence the great price right now….cheaper than a 330d and as as much torque as a m3

Personally I would go for 135i or 125d – I recently went through the same exercise and nothing I drove had the same quality feel combined speed.

Clearly, you don’t ride the same “CS7” that I do, from Colliers Wood to L’Enfant du Castille..

The very same one. Much easier than Wimbledon to CW with no dedicated cycle way – I pretty much cruised the whole way no worries, just needed to avoid the odd bus.

I reckon those things, with their insy tiny wheels, must accelerate like the millennium falcon doing the kesel run!

Pretty much! I was away first every light very quickly caught up by road bikes though.

I didn’t have the apt to go with it, worth some money now I bet?

Yeah it was a good investment, but I think £5k like the one on eBay is unrealistic >£2k
