    I am a huge fan on single cup drip with pap=er filters, I find the paper filters less messy and don't go bitter like the perm ones.

    I use one every day at work.

    Just looked at a very nice 2009 Major Jake….it seems to tick all the right boxes!!

    The Cannondale CX9 is £1299 and seems to have shockingly bad wheels for a bike of that price!!

    But otherwise….v.nice

    That Giant is pretty sweet too. I am not worried about eyelets and guards, I never really do more than 100 miles in one go and I use a pack (have been forever)

    I love the idea of steel, but the cross checks top tube slopes the wrong way for my liking!

    Its for riding – I do a 30 miles a day commuting on and off road. Plus some longer distance stuff at the weekend, but that's mainly road stuff.

    I mainly looking at a change as I need gears for some of the longer journeys I do – but I don't have the space for a on/off road commuter, road bike and a mtb.

    Ooh that cotic is nice indeed….was also thinking of a custom frame (Lee Cooper).

    Like it or not, it's an offence. If you get caught, don't moan about the punishment.

    I got the ticket and I agree – just posted a warning for others.

    For me:
    carbon seatpost broke (USE)
    carbon forks broke (PACE)

    Carbon bars have not broke (moketlite)

    I have a custom full 853 frame and my frame builder said he prefers not to use 853 rears as its expensive and a right pita to use.

    I cannot comment if it feels different, but it is very lovely indeed!

    I have no games in mind actually, been out of PC gaming for a while. COD and WoW I guess as a starter.

    Max £1500. But rather £1000

    It was the Tora’s and MX’s I was looking at, a few ££ over but not bad.

    As a general statement, no I wouldn’t [:)] and that’s having had plenty of both. There are plenty of steel frames that are no less harsh than most alu frames and actually visa versa.

    I do agree to a point, a steel frame can be built to be stiff, alot of hardcore hardtails are like this and of course BMX’s. But I personally never owned or ridden an ali frame that was in the comfy category – flex really isn’t in the nature of ali alloys that are used for frame building – I would like to see the ali frame that has rear dropout spacing of 132.5mm for both road and mtb hubs (a la cotic road rat). Though I am open to the idea of their existence.

    I do all day rides on my hard tail, you would not believe the amount of comfort a steel frame gives over an ali one. (though I am not saying you cant do the same on ali…)

    I was riding infornt of this guy once, who was getting beaten up on his ali hardtail and when we stop he commented that he could see the flex in my rear stays and I was able to ride seated while he had to stand.

    That combined with a carbon seatpost and a nice comfy brooks swift/swallow and you will be laughing.

    I have owned sussers and liked them, but never as much as a good HT.

    which delgados? The old X rims?

    Cant say I ever had a problem. Have used Delgados, Semis, Disc Races all with no problems with Ignitors, IRC Mythos, SB8s….

    The 2006 Delgado disc – the ones that are very wide. I emailed salsa and they said they were aware of the issue and you needed to find the right tyres….but I never did. This is why I am getting them rebuilt – very annoying actually since I forked out for pimp, light bladed spokes (forget the name right now)

    I have salsa delgado’s at the moment and they are the worst rim I have ever used! Really really hard to get the tyre to sit in the lip, which causes the tyre to buldge and I have had 3 tyres wear and rip at the lip.

    Truely hate the rims!

    I prefer the profile of a wide tyre on a wide rim.

    Basically I am doing a variance analysis with 3 variables
    Moves
    Fixed Costs
    Variable Costs

    and I need to ‘bridge’ the cost per move kpi

    here is the spreadsheet and I need to ‘prove’ the delta at the bottom with just saying its what is left over

    Google docs link

    C = (x/y) – (z/w)

    A + B = C

    A = x/w

    B = ??

    K i only did this quick and the prices are made up, but I would like to see a service with a basic setup like this.

    [/URL]

    (all this prices are hypothetical!)
    So a basic singlespeed would come to £700

    If you wanted to upgrade to a geared cotic with Fox’s, £700+£225+£125+£100 = £1150

    Obviously a clicky webpage would be cool. And of course being custom any deviations need to be available, but as a basic starting point this would be awesome!

    I grouped things in 4 categories, Frame, Fork, Groupset, Finishing kit. With Groupset breaking down wheel and brake upgrades.

    I would suggest getting some cheap and branded ‘basic’ setups as a starting point. You know things like £15 Richley’s or £20 Eastons bars + Deore bits. Getting the whole basic setup affordable will get people seriously interested in the custom build option.

    Say being able to build up a basic Cotic Soul for a grand, would give an awesome starting point.

    For the record I only used Evans as they had the bike, the day I wanted it!
