It has. If you’re quite into your hifi why the hell would you want to use a PC as the source, unless you’ve got a £500+ sound card and all your music is uncompressed

Not quite £500 but its getting there a top end studio card would be pointless in my setup as I am running to an external DAC (Naim).

From my tests nothing really competes to a well put together PC as a digital source for the front end of a Hifi. I put my up against a Nain Unitiserve (£2k audio streamer/ripper) and it sounded better to everyone including the shop owner. I was surprised myself as I had convinced myself I wanted the Unitiserve.

Sounds a bit geeky but I am quite into my hifi and windows does a better job than macs. (I am sure that will cause an argument….)

I just felt I have been paying through the teeth for Mac stuff with no advantage and having to live with the draw backs – though I do dislike anything pre Win 7.

Well…other than store, backup and *serve* media – I have no idea what other facilities it can do, or what I would want it to do.

LightsOut sounds like a good plan indeed! – cheers

Last few weeks I have just swtiched to sammy slick, they seem decent so far, 200miles and no sign of wear and just fine offroad. Puncture strip too. They are slicker than they look in the pic too. Light and fast

Unless there is a disaster, I’ll be a repeat customer n these.

Personally I prefeer the passive kind, some of which work better than active, I currently use Etymotic HF2 with custom mould, the world just goes away when you wear them. Amazing.

Yes you can log in from different places, but not necessarily at the same time. Though on the iphone if you enable offline mode would can listen to downloaded tracks on your phone and stream on a pc at the same time.

You also get better sound quality and the ability to use a sonos if that concerns your.

Worth it? To me yes absolutely.

So those who are not educated are worth less?

If I am hiring someone for a £40 – £50k position on my team. I will rarely interview unless they have a degree. There is a lot of choice on the job market.

The debt’s written off after 25 years, isn’t it? Run up the max and live with a slightly reduced income (x% of what you earn that’s over £y) until you’re 46.

Choose a course with good prospects and get a decent paying job. Hold hold back go for the max

OK I paid a lot less, but it would have been well worth it and easily paid off once in proper employment.

I must say the only issue I have with Russia/China is the hassle & cost if the frame breaks…I am sure the quality will be fine, but frames do occasionally go wrong.

    Hmmm decisions!

You need a solicitor – its likely their insurance company will put you in touch with an independent one.

I recently used Irwin Michell – great service.

Luckily I was just cruising down the street! I managed to keep it under control when it went.

Specialized said ‘yes we have seen this bore with the cheap cranks!’

Not sure how much of a fuss to kick up as I am going to replace them with something much better. They have done 7000miles.

Other than beach crusiers and BMXs, I bought my first singlespeed mtb about 10 years ago when my girlfriend started riding so she could keep up with me. My god it was the best riding decision I have ever made, I absolutely love riding them now and only own one geared bike which is for sale as I never ride it. (Bought it last year since everyone gives me crap for riding SS).

I cannot explain why I like it so much, the simplicity, not even having to think about gears – crunches and slips, a directness you don't get with gears. For me it's just awesome, I never seem to be behind the geared riders and I even happily did the Southdowns in 2 days last weekend on one no worries.

Yes I ride with discs and suspension.

The one and only time I have struggled was a 120 miles one day trip on a SS road bike.

I am very curious to try a internal hub though.

DMR revolver is the best budget hub I have used.
