    I feel fortunate.

I can cycle to work – love it
I can tube to work – bit slower but can chill with a book or music
I can drive to work – bit slower, usually with my lovely wife, in comfort with a coffee and some music (OK I have a nice car – it helps)

Can’t grumble at any of them!

The real questions is why not try something different?

I have some B&W WM4’s in my bathroom hooked up to a Sonos ZP120 – works a treat. The WM2’s are cheaper. They are water proof which might be a consideration in the kitchen with all the steam. The come in white

In the Kitchen I just use a Sonos S3 tbh!

I hated the idea of a fixie, then I got invited to Manchester Velodrome for a taster day. And I flipping hated riding that thing. Then I realised I hated it because it felt so different to my regular singlespeed which felt so natural to me.

So when I got home I bought a cog and thought I would give it a go. (I still hated it at this point – I do this alot, forced myself to eat lime pickle until I enjoyed it – now I love it!). A few week later it started to feel natural and I began to enjoy it.

Now I would not switch back on my CX commuter. Its fun and efficient. In no way it is dangerous (I ride with brakes mind you!). I actually prefer it to SS. Covered 4k Miles on it now.

Its just different, not bad. Lime Pickle is good too.

    I went 4 to 5 – worth it

I probably wouldn’t rush form a 4s though unless you are out of contract.

Living in MK without a car is like not using the Tube in London

    Condolences..

That the biggest prob with MK – other people don’t see it for the positives only negatives.

JamesH – in MK you need a car. Seriously.

If you are single and want a night life I would serious consider living in the centre at the Hub or similar.

My (ex) bro in law lives in the Village of Salford just outside and just bought a place in Woburn – lovely area.

If you are driving to work – you really don’t need to worry about distance – there is no traffic in MK at all – live in an area you like! I lived in Stony Stratford and drove to Woburn in 20 mins (Aspley Guise to be exact) which are opposite ends of the city! With the A5 going through the middle and a lot of the roads 70mph distance/time is not an issue!

My choices other than SS are Woolstones and Woughton on the Green – both lovely areas. Furzton is nice too as is Walnut Tree.

I lived there for a number of years and it’s alright – I still have family and friends there and know it really quite well. Really good for *family* life. Loads to do but you do need to drive ALOT.

Personally I would live in Stony Statford in the north a lovely little Victorian Village with restaurants and Pubs and easy access to all the utilities of MK.

I agree with Jase….for me there are a lot more areas to avoid!

A mate has done this diet with great success – me and the wife are about to give it a go to maybe loose a stone each.

600 calories a day seems ok.

    Banana 100
Innocent Sweet Chilli Vege Pot 218
    Bag of Popcorn 100
2 pumkin Rivita and 250 of mushrooms with Garlic (microwaved….try it!) 120

    I will keep you updated….

I find those fixed filters good – but a lot messier than paper.

Porcelain cone and paper filter every time – spend your money on a grinder :)

The if you must – get a espresso machine.

Technical side of accounting – ie specialising in Hyperion, Cogonos or such. Fairly easy £££ to be had with very little qualifications. Just need to understand numbers and computers essentially.

I have a few pairs of selvedge denim and swear by them. I usually pop them on and jump in the bath to get the initial fit. Though TBH I have washed a pair new too – no problem at all – I have two pairs exactly the same and I cannot tell which ones I washed from new….

I believe you will be cooler if you don’t wash them for the first 6 months :)

I had one – good phone but found it too big to use one handed, more like a tablet. Switched to an iphone 5 and am much happier.

But the S3 was a nice phone.

    I am Wimbledon based btw.

    PB Joinery can supply/recommend worktops.

I can not recommend the guy I got mine from…….. appalling job (though it is sorted by Peter at PB).

I got the the units from http://www.schmidt-kitchens.com in Wimbledon and used a chap called Benoit. Bloody amazing service and his design is really spot on – if you want more details\tips you can email me…. ericemel at yahoo dot com. They also have 1/2 price worktops at the moment.

The great thing about schmidt is they supply and design their own kitchens – no 3rd parties etc etc so they really know what they are talking about and understand how to use space. Price was comparable to the nicer (but not silly expensive) kitchens around.
