Yes the HFR is really that weird!!! I really liked the film but didn’t like the effect HFR gave at all. Gutted I didn’t see the IMAX 3D instead (I saw HFR 3D)

    But a great film!

I bought this for my wife who always wanted one. Bit of a trial as only 1000 were imported and most had rusted to nothing in the 15 years since they last came in.

We used to have one of these – amazing fun to drive!

I have a friend with a husky in Central London – spends a lot of time in Parks etc but is a very happy and friendly dog. It all about the time you invest I guess as with any dog.

Raliegh Marauder when I had spent a 1.5 years saving up for an Offroad Sport and the cost of the Marauder would have been the balance….

I was so sad. I had to wait another 2 years before I got a real MTB

Anyone who can pay £500 for a meal for two there is only doing it so they can bellow very loudly at every possible opportunity that they’ve eaten at the Fat Duck, and bask in the reverence whilst all the plebs are dumbstruck at how awesome they must be.

LOL why is it so many people think others people reaction is the only reason to spend money.

I hate it when someone says I only own a decent bike to show off – in fact my most expensive bike is pure used for solo trips and is basically caked in mud and only really a very trained eye would know its a decent piece of kit, and I certainly don’t tell people about it (except occasionally to you lot!)

if you add [$*] to the end of your number format it’ll work a treat – then you can treat it like a number still

    ie

    #,##0.00[$*]

Change the number format to include the *

I haven’t been to the Fat Duck but I have been to some decent restaurants including Dinner by Heston at the Mandarin Oriental and the meal was mind blowingly good – every course was better than everything else I have tried, as was every part of the experience.

So yes I would say if food is your thing the Fat Duck would be quite an experience.

I have a syncro compact digital for 6 years now and it has been faultless, makes a great espresso or Americano. I haven’t used the steamer function so cannot comment.

Overall I rate it and it has lasted much longer than I expected!

(I also disagree with the espresso pot comment!)

Just had new electrics in and the whole house done in CAT6 and every plug had 2 sockets plus 4 in lounge all routed to a cupboard where I have a 16 port switch.

Its the way to go. CAT6 can run HDMI over it should you need to.

If you’re gonna do it – might as well do it properly…

Nice to drive but ridiculously tiny in the back and boot

The new shape is ALOT bigger – more akin to the older 3 series. I believe the new 1 has the biggest boot in class – I can get 3 bikes in no prob with the seats down.

I had the same choice and test drove all 3 plus others and choose the 1 Series albeit the 120d plus a load of toys.

I do not regret it one bit. Had it over a year now (just) – its the new shape and awesome.

Its super crap in the snow though!

Guess it depends on your standing…

When i broke my leg – I was back at work after 5 days from being let out the hospital after negotiating with the company to cover taxi costs. I felt I could do 80% of my job and hated day time tv.

I have been promoted twice since then, relevant – hard to say.

Shopping parties on Carmaby Street, where they get bands in the streets, give you free beer and knock 20% off everything. Pointless fun even if you don’t want to buy anything.

….so many born and bred Londoners I know – all well-travelled, educated people for the most part – have virtually no knowledge or interest in UK life outside the orbit of the M25

I agree to a point. For me its either in the hustle of London or the middle of Dartmoor – not saying there is nothing in between but I don’t find myself that stimulated by it.

I would not have my job without a degree. I am in senior management at a large organisation and there are very few people here, at this level without degrees. Not impossible though.

I had the same and REALLY pissed off a White South African girl by ticking yes!

MP3 will be mastered exactly the same as CD version, but will be compressed going to lossy format from lossless. That has nothing to do with mastering and Loudness war though… You can master as hot for vinyl as you can for a digital format.(Some do and this would sound even worse)

Incorrect – I saw an interview with Bjork where she sasy she masters for each format separately – SACD/Vinyl, CD and Compressed audio. I am sure she is not alone.

Cone and paper filters with a cheapish Burr Grinder (I use a Krups) – outlay less than £50 it total and fab coffee and minimal mess (joy of paper filters imho!)
