I think the 360w Rise batteries had the issues? Plenty of unlocked Rises with the 540w batteries.

It’s easy to turn an Orbea Rise into a full fat ebike via software (if you’re inclined) and works well on the Hydros with the 540 watt battery.
There’s nothing special about the ‘RS tune’ it’s just a power and torque limited EP6/EP801.
It’s a shame they don’t come out the box like that – allowing the user to choose the config to suit their riding.

I’ve set my Rise power/torque limits just slightly less than full fat.
Typically on local blast I’ll ride mostly in trail and use boost on the climbs. I’ll use 90% of the battery in approx 35km with 1000m of climbing.
Or I can turn it right down and ride for ages.

The Rise does have it’s issues but I enjoy mine. And they’re relatively cheap at the moment.

I went from orange to purple on the Rise (warranty). Much prefer the purple – looks fantastic.

My recent recommendations, all very good (if you like that type of game).

    Remnant II

    Lies of P

    Lords of the Fallen

    Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty (DLC)

RoboCop: Rogue City – This was surprisingly good and a lot of fun, just like the original film.

Starfield felt dated to me, I put enough hours in to complete it but thought it was average. Mile wide, inch deep.

I’ve had a look at the Scoop, stack height doesn’t look as low as the Knife.

I’ll have a look at the Scoop but it was the low stack height of Knife I liked – I could run a One-Up 180mm dropper. Broke a seat rail so need an alternative.

We’ve had BRSK since February. There was a long delay with the build to our area (original service date was October).

Service has been faultless. Constant 930Mbps up and down. WiFi is also excellent – great coverage and speeds.
Downloading a 50Gb game from Steam in a couple of minutes is nuts.

Thanks. Other option is to get my old Pro2 hubs rebuilt into something 27.5.

Resurrecting as these wheels are cheap again at CRC.
What’s the consensus? A good buy? Strong enough for a heavy rider riding local trails?

Apologies for the thread hijack. Can anyone advise on sizing? I’m 5′ 10″ and was leaning towards the large but I’m concerned it may be too long.

Has anyone compared the LSC of the RCT3 to the RC?

I have the RCT3 and would like to know the differences as I want another pair for my hardtail. I never use the open/trail/lock but I do like LSC of RCT3.

Could someone tell me the number of clicks of compression from min to max/lock and adjustment of the RC? eg fine, coarse etc.

My RCT3 has 13 clicks of LSC and the range of adjustment from min to max is subtle. Is the RC like this?

    Thanks.

RC owners – can you tell me how many clicks of LSC you have from fully open to locked? Is the adjustment fine or coarse?

I have the RCT3 and never use the Open/Pedal/Lock but I do like how you can fine-tune the LSC. There’s 13 clicks and the difference from min to max is subtle compared to other forks I’ve had.

I fancy pair for the hardtail and don’t know whether to go for the RCs or not.

Go on what do ceramic pistons actually do thats different. Whats the weight difference, just go to the toilet before a ride.

Someone had previously stated they were the same, I was pointing out they are not.

Yeah, better handling of heat on big descents. Might be a factor in a purchase decision if you have regular Alps trips.

One of the biggest differences between Deore and SLX/XT that I don’t think has been mentioned yet is the tool-free lever reach adjust on the SLX and XT. I find that really handy in getting the lever reach perfect as the pads wear down. Find myself tweaking them often.

They also feel much better when using an non-sintered pad. Really nice modulation – less ‘grabby’ with still loads of power.

Both SLX and XT have ceramic pistons as they are exactly the same caliper, nothing between them in the weight.
Deore do not have ceramic pistons and weigh more.

Buy the ones you like the look of the best out of SLX and XT.

And after using both split pin and threaded I prefer split pin. Faster and easier IMO.

Big price difference over here while in the US they’re similar. Anyone know why that is?
Both US companies so why can we get SRAM forks so comparatively cheap?

I swapped Revs for Pikes and weighed them in the process.

    RCT3 SoloAir Revs – 1727g
    RCT3 SoloAir Pikes – 1801g
    Both with 195mm tapered steerer & Maxles. 150mm & 26″.

    Mercedes rethink team orders

They’ve also got to protect the brand. Ferrari did a lot of damage to themselves in the way they handled ‘team orders’.

Why can’t you compare 150mm Fox 32s to 150mm Pikes like for like?
Similar weight, similar price, same travel.
The Pike has made £500 150mm 32 mm sanctioned forks obsolete. There’s just not enough of a weight saving anymore for the gains in stiffness.

I’ve owned Fox 36 FIT Floats – my Pike has much better damping, is as stiff and much lighter. And then there’s the price.

Thanks Loco. Do recommend any particular grease? Can’t find Slick Honey anywhere.
Yep I put oil in 🙂
I’m wondering if the damper needs bleeding and air has got in, can’t see how though. They definitely sound different on rebound. Strange.

The hardest part for me was sourcing the Rockshox 0w30 oil. Couldn’t find any Slick Honey grease either but SRAM support said it was ok leave out for the moment. Not sure how important the grease is. LoCo?

After I completed the ‘lowers’ service I’m convinced mine sound different on rebound. Feel fine on the trail though. Can’t see how anything could’ve changed as the damper is sealed. Weird.

    Panasonic TX-P42X60 ?
£300 – ‘HD Ready’ and no ‘smart’ features if that bothers you.

I’ve got the older 50″ x50 model and when fed with HD it really is stunning.

    Defo worth considering.

Has anyone weighed a set of new Pikes yet?

    Yep. My 26″ 150mm RCT3 Pikes with a 195mm steerer weighed 1801g.
In comparison the Revs they replaced (Tapered 150mm RCT3 195mm steerer) weighed 1727g.
