Lazgoat, I did the fix myself, cost me a new drill bit and some other bits that I needed an excuse to buy (torque wrench, loctite 243 etc) I work in IT so my experience with a drill is limited but thankfully I pulled it off without a hitch. Orange posted the modified dropout very quickly, no complaints there at all, and it came with full instructions. I was charged for the modified dropout though, and I do now have a new hole in the frame which isnt “sealed” so over time I guess it could rust. Should I take the new bolt back out and coat the hole in grease to limit the chance of it rusting?

Makes my blood boil…I know some old bill are STW members but are any brave enough to comment on this?

0800 555 111 – Crimestoppers. and if there is a positive outcome you may get a reward. Guaranteed anonymous.

F*ck me thats a bit underhanded aint it? Hope you’re never my neighbour (and no I dont grow myself anymore)

OK, the fire hazard point is revelant, but not every “closet gardener” is a complete numpty and ringing the fuzz may just get the poor guy in deep trouble for gowing a bit of “personal”

If you can, speak to the guy, if he only speaks vietnamese then I’d be worried. Dont expect a grower to welcome you into his secret lair to show you his stash, but given you’ve taken the time to speak to him he’ll know you aint a b*stard and should be willing to lay your mind at rest regarding the electrics. But that said, 9 our of 10 growers wouldnt be able to sleep knowing their neighbour has clocked onto whats they’ve been trying to keep secret.

And you should be able to guage what the set up is from the ventalation they’re using.

    Dont shop him though IMO

“narrowly escapes injury”. No she didnt, she WAS injured, more like “narrowly escaped death”

You’d think her sponsors would make her wear a frickin’ helmet

Wasn’t the fat bast**d actually assaulting you by grabbing and shaking your shoulder. I’d say it gave you the right to “defend” yourself.

And anyhow, if fatty wasn’t on a lead you should have kicked him in the head

good point, I’ll try flipping the stem thanks.

17″ P7 frame with fox vanillas so the set up is standard and fits very well, I just think I’ve inherited the bar-lent-forward bit from my old CW’s when I rode BMX years back, oh them were the days….

If someone kept grabbing and shaking my shoulder whilst I was riding I would instictively stop and punch them, honestly.

If they have no proof you’ve paid, but you can demonstrate payments were made during 2008, I’d say the onus is on them so sort their records out for anything pre-2008

I smashed my ribs in a carting accident a few years back, nothing broken but couldnt shift the chest pain for ages, so thouight I’d try out the new Chinese herbalist nearby. Long story short, the herbs worked but gave me evil smelling farts, so bad one collegue complained it burnt her nostrils, and I can proudly say I honestly emptied an entire train carriage with just one guff!!! I didnt stop laughing for days

Is it “normal” to “like” the smell of your own farts?

“Like” as in not wanting to vomit.. and a having mild sense of pride !

Not so long back at Whitewebbs in Enfield I had a horse almost gallop into me, despite the "No Galloping" signs, and the rider then told me "it’s not safe for me to ride here". I was too dumbstruck to tell them that it was their riding that was dangerous for everyone else.

(the rider wasn’t on a lead so I was tempted to kick them in the head, but there was little point given they had a helmet on).

Also, generally speaking why do female riders tend to be polite and courteous whilst male riders are all moody d***heads?

Having suspension doesnt mean you should be riding into kerbs, it might be worth inmproving your technique on on a rigid for a while and learn how to bunny hop etc

Must be just my bad luck, never had any problems with CRC, Wiggle etc and have made over 50 orders in the last 12 months. Sh*t happens sometimes I know. Got to say though I wasnt too impressed with the cust service each time I’ve rung Merlin to chase, the guy didnt seem bothered at all. ho hum

Shame Merlin aren’t as helpful, they missed an item off my order and don’t exactly seem to be that bothered. Another night ride cancelled tonight ‘cos it still aint arrived. This was my first order with them and I wouldn’t use ’em again if they weren’t so cheap but guess I now know why they’re cheap. ****

Dorset Knob if the purpose of the post was to make me more comfortable with kicking untrained aggressive dogs in the head (in defence) then its mission accomplished.

Another example, I rode past a bloke who told me “dont worry, the dog’s fine” and then it bit me on the leg, albeit not very hard, and I was wearing overtrousers so it didnt draw blood. But if it had drawn blood I would have kicked both of them in the head.

“Kicking dogs doesnt help”…but kicking the owner might make you feel better.

In the last couple of months I’ve had three episodes which follow the same pattern ie big dog bares teeth and runs at me, owner calls dog and dog ignores owner, owner calls dog, dog ignores owner, owner calls dog etc etc.

Why do dog owners think they own the f*****g trails? If they cant keep their dog under control then dont take them off the f*****g lead.

The onus is not on me to speak to a frickin “dog bahavoiral specialist”, owners need to understand that if their dog aint trained it could be kicked in the mouth.
