A copper at the Cycle Show told me that the Met haven’t even rolled out the scanners to every London borough. And in oder to take a reading they need to shove a probe into the seat stem. Great idea but seems flawed by current technology and lack of investment.

Thanks, will check the axle, although my LBS thought the hub needed replacing. Given I can replace my WTB Speedisc AM rims AND get XT hubs thrown in for the same price as one Hope Pro 2 hub on it’s own I’m still leaning towards the XT’s, has anyone managed to bend an XT rear hub?

I headbutted a tree at approx 10mph without a helmet on, it **** hurt and sounded like a mallet knocking a coconut. Worst damage though was to my shoulder and my spine bending the “wrong” way, neither of which would have been helped by wearing a helment. I always wear a helmet now though FWIW.

How did it come off, was it secured incorrectly, was it a cheapo Halfords velco “hanging bike” job? What insurance is paying out…car Insurance? I’ve always been paranoid about this happening to me so I always use an extra strap and I went for a “sturdy” Thule over the cheaper options. I’m amazed the insurer agreed to payout.

A local cyclist was knocked down and killed on Christmas eve in Enfield whilst riding on the road, so f*ck anyone who thinks I shouldnt protect myself. F*ck ’em all.
