Totally agree, but I wouldn’t mind trying a swimming machine if they ever invent one..

Most people I’ve known who use gyms end up going simply because they’ve paid the membership so they “need to” go. This psychological aspect seems to eventually put them off going because it’s been “forced” upon them. I guess if I’d paid for a MTB membership I’d eventually end up feeling I “had to” go which might put me off too. Luckily for me I’m able to fool myself into believing that mtb’ing is a “free” pastime even though I spend all my hard earned on bits and bobs and bikes and stuff and this and that etc etc.

I’d recommend Le Parker Meridien on 56th. Ask for a room on the top floors and you get a great view of central park. You’d be very central so it’s a good starting pont for any adventures you plan. Also, if you get time make sure you do the harbour helicopter ride it’s frickin cool!!! I wasn’t sure if I’d like New York but I was blown away with the architecture, I’d been expecting loads of faceless dull skycrapers. If you visit the Empire State buy your tickets beforehand online and get there early early otherwise you end up queuing for literally hours. Great short-break destination, not sure about staying any longer than 2 or 3 nights though..

Osteopaths are seriously underated. I cant understand why the NHS still class Osteopathy as “alternative” treatment. All they do is re-align the bones, which allows the muscles surrounding the bones to correct themselves, which sorts out the pain. Couldnt be simpler, people go years and years just taking painkillers to mask the underlying problem. They’ve sorted me out a couple of times, one time I put my neck out (couldnt touch my chin to my chest) and they also succesfully cured some back pain I stupidly lived with for months. Go for it.

This would p*ss off any thief, (but still prefer the carpet gripper idea)

agree with bomberman up to a point. My car engine apparantly needs 0w-30 synthetic oil, I’ve had others tell me that 5w-30 is fine but who should I believe, them or the manufacturer? Ow-30 is thinner so apaprantly better for cold starts, so its safe to assume a thicker oil wont be as effective. So I basically go with the manufacturers recommendation. Not saying the other opinion is wrong but there you go.

I dont risk using any oil/lube/grease other than the branded receommended stuff. Same applies to car oil, only use exactly what’s recommended, why guess what’s best/better? Some recent posts on here gave the impression that Fox forks are too high maintenance and the rest are low maintenance in comparison but this post blows that theory out the window a bit.
