What kind of nutbag wants a 70mm stem with 740mm bars anyway?

I think it’s ok if your colour scheme is black and gold 🙂

Thats a great sounding setup, maybe you just need a splash of colour like the different coloured faceplates Thomson do?

I’ll have a look and see what they can offer me.

Anyone else? You can’t tell me all the bike owners on here don’t insure there high end bikes?

Spesh replaced my 2006 S-Works chains stays in 2010. It was obviously out of warranty and they didn’t have any in stock, I had to wait 4 months for it but they have been redesigned and are symmetrical now instead of the original asymmetric ones which apparently had some weird forces going on, hence making them crack. My new one also came in black but was a good excuse for a respray (never did like the ano silver) still going today. Don’t know what to replace it with, it’s still does everything 🙂

Thanks for the swift reply guys. I’ll give Charlie a go I think as he’s fractionally closer, failing that Dorchester as I may be going that way anyway.
    Cheers

    Thanks guys

I think I’m probably doing the right thing by laying off the bike, as it really flared up after doing a long, wet, cold ride over the Purbecks. I woke that night like someone had stabbed me in the back where the trapezius had spasmed!!

It’s just demoralising sitting here not being able to do anything for fear of making it worse.

I love the look of that misfit DiSSent, I think it’s my new favourite bike. I want one 🙂

    That’s mad Spando!!

I did exactly the same thing last october but the branch snapped off while it was wedged in my ear canal. The force I needed to pull it out was unbelievable. Funnily enough I’ve just had a checkup at hospital today and I’ve got most of my hearing back and it’s all healed up ok, just the high (8000) frequency I’m missing now. The pain when I did it was probably worse than when I dislocated my shoulder the first time because you can’t do anything to help it.

I rebuilt my brother in laws 06 stumpy suspension and it was night and day better. Even when the bearings felt ok ish.

The lower pivot on those uses full complement bearings which means they are fully packed with balls, they don’t have a cage that spaces the balls apart which is great for low motion movement(it only ever strikes a small arc) but they are pretty sensitive to dirt and grime.
The pivot bolts are all Ali as well and hate being “dry”.

They are pretty easy to strip down so go for it and grease that baby up and see if it helps.

    Hi Dawn

    I’m in 🙂

Good Luck to Team Bullheart in all the events

I hope I win!! I’m only round the corner from Hertshore. I’ve spoken to Tony a few times in our LBS

There is a weld that looks like it’s done deliberately to stop the post dropping so that it interferes with the shock so no danger there.

I used mine in the Alps a couple of years ago too, saved me no end of times when the talent ran out!! I also swapped to a coil shock from new, brilliant bike.

    Hi Jambon

I’ve got an S Works XL which is 230mm from BB centre line to the bottom of the seatpost when fully dropped (it just protrudes through so you can see it) and 680mm to the top of the seat when fully dropped on a 410mm seatpost

Hope this helps, if that’s acceptable I guess a Large would be slightly less.

I’m truly amazed by Lazlo’s post and responses, he clearly needs to get out more!! I’ve had some bike related Christmas presents lost in the post from Dec 5th, (£100 worth)!!!! They have now been replaced in the last couple of days as they are officially lost according to Royal Mail. So the mag is by no means alone, I’d hate to think how many companies countrywide have had a nightmare with all this!!

Well done to Chipps and Mark for very professional and informed personal replies. Best mag out there!!!

I’m pretty sure the noise you are hearing is the heated air escaping that is trapped between the pads as you brake, the larger the air space the louder the noise. Normal cross drilled rotors are quieter due to the small air space and more metal surface area in contact with the pad.

I had the same when I changed over.
