White toptube bit definitely doesn’t work nor does the random seat tube colour. Toptube bit matching front of fork is a no-brainer.

transition1, I’ve got a few Burgtec items, including a chainring that totally messed up the chainline on my m8000 cranks, so I’ll stick with reliable Hope.

I’ve lost count of the near misses due to drivers looking the opposite way they’re turning, surely it’s a last glance to the left before turning right, not staring left then start pulling out before you’ve even turned your head to look straight, let alone glance right, at least give people a chance of being in your peripheral vision, it’s the same people who stare directly at the traffic lights then floor it the millisecond it turns green without even looking what’s in front of their bonnet. Its amazing that they haven’t killed anyone.

Keep running joe 🏃, orange is awesome, I have vouchers I can’t use because I want an orange stem and fortus wheel with orange hub. Really poor service IMO.

Hard to watch, pretty disgraceful way to treat stuff some people can only dream of owning, I guess his sponsers don’t watch cos I wouldn’t send him another pair of forks after watching that, he probably breaks more stuff during assembly than I do riding, I wonder how he’d treat those forks if he had to pay £1500 like we do.
DON’T TRY THIS AT HOME KIDS.

£18 at sjs cycles, for now just file down, you could butcher an old cage with a hacksaw and attach over the top with an extra long bolt to stop it snagging.

Buy a 203mm rotor or some nice CNC’d titanium washers, like raceti on ebay. I’ve gone 200mm using adapter for 180mm with same post mounts as yours, so 183mm adapter on that mount simply makes it 203mm. E4’s can foul some other brands adapters too, Hope & NSB adapters are best.

It helps to have an olive and barb and all the tools ready and within reach, the aim is to not have to move from the spot. Cut hose and install new olive and barb, try to keep everything steady, accidently flicking the hose or knocking the lever can flick out some fluid, protect everything just incase of a drip, dot fluid isn’t nice stuff. I’ve had a epic kit for a few years without any issues and buy my dot 5.1 from leisurelakes in 250ml yellow bottle for a few quid, big bottles won’t keep, it’ll absorb water before you’ve used even half of it.

Mcj78, I think alexnharvey was trying to say that having testicles and miles more testosterone gives a blatantly obvious advantage that no amount of training if born female could of matched. Muscle mass, bone density, hip placement, lung structure etc all make it easier to push harder, the biology of the male body is just more powerful and more efficient at using that power. Those comments triggered a few people for that reason plus Robert Forstemann doesn’t race women so that’s irrelevant, playing devil’s advocate or not, you simply cannot reverse all those advantages or replicate them, thats why female to male never results in gold medals or any success, a female to male boxer or ufc fighter would get destroyed or die. But would any male athlete feel proud of beating the competition if it was made up of trans?

Even has the audacity to call Dawn Orwick a sore loser, adding insult to injury just shows what a piece of shit she? is, Dawn earned her stripes, she didn’t steal them, can anyone blame her for not embracing a cheating scumbag who feels proud of shooting fish in a barrel achievements.

WTF has happened to common sense and the reality of genetics and chromosomes. The fact is that genuine dedicated female athletes are getting screwed over by everybody involved in the sport they love, it takes a level of arrogance only found in males to compete against women and not feel ashamed, average male athletes who can’t get in the top 50 can trans into a record breaker, if half the field becomes trans what would be the point of a genuine female taking part. So yet again another trans is dominating, what a surprise. A female athlete would have to take every PED to stand a chance, the way its going every gold medal will have an adams apple above it.

100, 148, 11mm thread length, 15mm 1.5 thread is for Rockshox non boost and 158 is boost.

Boost double running as a single would be a bad chainline, a non boost double running as single gives a boost chainline.

I think you’ll have to use the sram little black pillars 12.5 & 7.5 with one conical washer if the hope or NSB style don’t fit, the bolt through type adapters can foul the E4 caliper, an Uberbike one for example needs about 1mm filing off in the middle of the bridge section, others foul it worse by a few millimetres, you simply need to raise the caliper up about 14.5 & 9.5mm, you could bodge with a conical washer stack and some plain washers or get some thick alloy washers from ultraturn on ebay, measure the thickness of a pair of conical washers then work out the spacer size to make it 14.5 & 9.5mm.

Yeah, I misread this one, not fully awake, thought all the spokes were loose, argee is right.

If you’re happy truing wheels take tyre off and reinstall wheel then wrap some tape across the stays just above the rim and pen mark the rim position on the tape or attach two strips of card to the tape either side of the rim then just tighten the nipples 1/8 of a turn at a time starting at the valve. A few goes around will slowly tension and should keep it true. Truing and tightening loose spokes is basically the same skill.

I never pay RRP so mail order takes 90% of my hard earned, plus a hate wasting my time and walking out of bike shops empty handed, what are the odds of your LBS stocking any of the items on your list, I have two decent bike shops several miles away but still have to order online then collect a few days later. Years ago I tried to use my most local shop, they kept me on the hook for over a week, lying to me and they weren’t very knowledgeable either, gave up and ordered from CRC, arrived two days later, could have saved a weeks wait.

I used to drool over a klein attitude in Harry Halls back in the 90’s, those smooth welds, wawaweewa, nice. Also the purple anodised square tubed Pace with Pace forks and those gold chainrings made for Pace by Renthal, amazing looking bike back in the day.

Making the working class lose money, possibly their job, miss important appointments and job interviews is no way to get the public onside, they’ve just lost the public support. 95% of the population are against their actions. Attacking the cleanest form of public transport and angering the general public is a complete backfire and a retarded way to show us a glimpse of our dystopian future if we don’t change our ways, even if we do ban fossil fuels what’s stopping supervolcano’s from erupting and wiping us all out anyway.

For what it’s worth I’m running 34t non boost on a boost 2018 Mega. Frame manufacturers usually leave more than 3mm clearance so it should work but you can’t go more outboard on XT M8000 without using the terrible method of an extra bb spacer, 1mm spacer might be okay but not 2.5mm, with boost however you have the option of using chainring spacers to fine tune chainline. A non boost double is practically the same chainline as a boost single and a trick I’ve also used.

Durability is an issue with sram, how many people are running several year old sram compared to several year old shimano, I’ve seen ancient xt still going strong on the trails. And the price of their cassettes is ridiculous, even the basic pinned together ones have been well over the XT equivalent for years. The last time I used sram the shifter and mech destroyed itself and GXP was utter garbage too. Undercutting shimano with bike manufacturers then selling overpriced to the public in my opinion.

I find deadlydarcy’s snowflake attitude a bit odd, seeing as the protester wasn’t afraid to draw first blood and kick someone in the face, I call it karma for stopping people getting home, going to work or getting to an appointment, they need to realise all the consequences and affects of their protests on decent people, if I did what that protester did I’d expect and deserve a good beating, he got off lightly IMO, surely that protest has to be the most ironic one so far, the fact that one protest was even using a generator says everything about these xr morons. Nothing they do will matter or change anything.

Get some cheap open grips for a few quid if you haven’t got some old ones knocking about, slide them in to 740mm then go ride, if too narrow slide out 10mm, go ride again, if still too narrow….you get the picture, once settled cut down and put deathgrips back on. Cutting down again and again would be a pain in the arse.

Dark colours are the way to go, dark blue or dark red burgtec minnaar grips don’t get too grubby looking, DMR have brought out new darker colours of their sect grips, probably for that reason. Avoid orange or baby blue, why companies even release white grips is complete mystery. Whatever happened to clear slide on grips.

Learning how to build wheels is not as hard as you think, I’ve built a dozen or so wheels now on homemade jigs from an old kona swingarm and some old forks, I bought a spoke tension meter off eBay and build more accurate and better tensioned wheels than the last shop I used. You can re-use spokes but I’d always advise using new nipples.
Once you get the hang of it, you’ll wonder why you didn’t do it earlier, the only downside is you’ll end up fixing your mates wheels as well. Spoke calculator apps, Google and YouTube make it much easier these days.

35mm are harsher than 31.8mm, some pro’s have reverted back to 31.8 for that reason. Worth considering.

DU are metal, dry unlubricated I think it stands for, as they are self lubricating, poly seem to last longer, are smoother and easier to fit, lots of people have switched over, start a poll on here to find out which is best, I bought a 4 pack ages ago and still haven’t used the second pair, so they do last.

Just athlete £10.64 for a 125 tube, or sjs cycles £11.99 that’s the bright green one, I got some years ago when chainreaction stocked it, I recognise the tube, it was green then, probably still is.

I’ve got the xtools one under the bbb brand and 5nm torque keys, also have topeak torqbits in 4,5,6nm to check against the xtools type and all seem to sort of agree with each other, give or take a 16th of a turn. For the cassette, pedals and bottom bracket I bought a Clarkes digital as it works on left hand threads too. Love the digital one, will probably buy lower torque version too.

The bushes that press into the actual eyelets are the most important part as that’s where the play comes from. You should replace them. Ive always swapped DU for poly ones.
