that fixes the pressfit problems, but you (can)get galvanic corrosion and the glue tends to (one day) come unglued.

I think maybe a press fit bb would work better in a metal frame
you can have an interference ft without braking the plastic carbon.

thing is, they’re both new, so until we have a few reviews of how they hold up over a year or so of riding it’s too early to say.
I wish the 30t ones had the inbuilt spacer either on bth sides, or had a removable spacer bit, it would have meant you could flip them over.
    It’s an easy bodge, though.

    https://law.resource.org/pub/de/ibr/din.en.14781.e.2006.pdf
    this is for racing bicycles.
a german customer wanted to know if ours held up.
so we built a fixture, even though we knew it would.
I’d suggest you find thepdf for kids bikes and build up a fixture to test it, you might want to get it officially certified but it’s good to know the answers to those type of questions before you ask.

putting some chili seeds up my sister’s nose when she was 5 or 6.
Seeing her cry like that makes me feel bad still.
breaking my front teeth trying to do nose manuals on a bmx when I was 8.
Had various implants done since then, at great cost and pain.
Running away from home, I got on the eurostar to paris, then a train to turin, then another to central italy to see my dad in Italy when I was 15.
    My mum was right.
most of all I regret not having confidence in myself.

We’ll be doing one for me as well, so guess who’s getting the singed inserts..
There’s nothing a bit of filing won’t fix tho.

true that, I’d not considered the possibility probability of misalignement in other than horizontal and vertical planes.Got three CX frames coming up with the ceeway sliders so I’m sure I’ll familiarize myself…

    emanuel

chunky, re sliders.they’re good and will compensate for frame misalignement in the horiz. plane, but will be damned hard to file to compensate for misalignement in the vertical plane.
I’d say build something easier first. a rack, a wheelbarrow, then an easy frame, lugged.
don’t know much about tig as it’s all fillet br. and lugs here, but isn’t the equipment for brass cheaper?
propane and oxygen, torch. you could make do with butane but I think you’ll be limited a bit.
ask peter at ceeway for advice, or come over at velocipede salon.

true that.it’s through improvisation that you progress.

    good stuff.
You can get mtb specific lugs, ceeway has them, lm108 from memory.
Get some practice in mitering (half round file, tube blocks and a vise is all you need)
    a good miter is key.

Lugged is easier than brazed, Silver is easier than brass due to lower temp.plus it’s easier to file.
make a full scale drawring,it helps.
get as many built bits as possible, dropouts, etc.

get some practice on scraps, the thicker the tubing the easier it is, you can get 1.2mm.
the paterek manual is dated but has good advice.
take your time, and remember good filing and a good paint job will make anything SEEM good-
I’ve been apprenticing for over a year now and have learned more in that time than in the 15 years I’ve been cycling/mechaniking

    Sorry, I do that sometimes.
    It’s simple.
magura hs11/33 brakes on a brompton.
those are the magura mounts being brazed on.
I was sick of the braking(lack of) on my 3yo brommie, so I did something about it.

    Hi spev.
    I am my lbs.
It’s often cheaper to get stuff from crc than it is from the distributor here in italy.

ordered one, will try it out compared to the Raceface one on the other bike.

flex is more due to diameter,if you’re using spirit it’s not going to flex much, but it’s a thin tube (0.38mm in the centre) so it’s a bit delicate.
I’d say 1400g is about the minimum you can get a sensible (ie wont’ break) steel frame in a medium size.
    columbus cataogue gives me
    1″ ht 1mm
    1″ ht 1.2mm
    1 1/8 1.1mm
    tapered 1mm
the 44mm ones are 1mm from memory.

    I’d use columbus Life.
The condor looks ok, but for that price I’d want fillet brazing and custom.
the bb30 is a minus imho.
the massive 24mm chainstays on the genesis?wtf?
There’s TWO sizes of chainstays available from columbus, deda, reynolds
    22mm and 24mm.
    nearly all chainstays are 24mm.
nice paint but I’d still want fillet brazing and custom for that price.
44mm headtube with no weight increase? They should try weighing an 1″ 1 1/8″ and 44mm headtube.
no prizes for guessing how weight magically increases as material increases.

mine,Dedacciai 01,I managed to get the Q factor down to 123mm,feels strange.
nice ride, a bit of snap a bit of kick and a bit smooth.
