but the gd dropper in 27.2 doesn’t have that much travel.
It’s not something I want to buy twice.

probably cheaper, quicker to make a fake one surely?
Or wait for the great british winter and make an igloo.

I think so,but with the remote, and the cable is like the gd,goes into the body, not the head.
I think rrp was about 400$.So yes, bloody expensive.
    plus I need 27.2.

    campanile di giotto.
    ponte vecchio.

low spoke tension is just asking for problems.
a quality wheel is not the rim,nor the hub, neither is it the spokes.
    It’s the build.
There’s nothing magic about that, anyone can do it.it just takes time.
If you’re selling wheels then you can’t afford to spend too much time on a wheel because it makes it unprofitable.I’m not saying they’re all bad.neither am I saying they are bad.
Just that if you spend 3-4 hours per wheel yourself, with decent(doesn’t mean expensive) components, then you’ll have some wheels that ‘stand’.
And if there is a problem, then you’ll know what it is and how to fix it.

can’t you weld a bit on the lower dropout?then file it to the right height.
saw this done on some p-roubaix bikes to get a bit more clearance.

I try and remember names of people I went to school with, then google them.strange to look at different people you knew 20-30ys ago.
I’ve aged better than all of them.obviously.

part of the problem is the infrastructure is simply not designed for todays’s volumes,or speeds.
If it was up to me,only emergency services would have cars.doctors,vets.most freight would go by rail. But it’s not up to me.
So every f….g time I go out on my road bike I have one near miss with some d….d who’s going too fast/overtakes where he can’t/ecc.
having said that, most drivers are considerate, still don’t drive at driving test level though.shame really, they’d drive better.

the harlequin wrap with contrasting cloth tapes is just lovely.google wasted life harlequin for instructions.
takes a bit to do.takes ages to do it perfectly.
on the right bike it looks really really good.
but it’s got no cush at all-might want to put something underneath it.
grippy though.esp if you shellac it.lasts ages that way.

tried the tektro r538?the ones rivendell were/are pushing.
    they’re ok.but then I fitted the r650s and they’re much better.
dunno if there’s much difference between the r45os and the 650s.
like the brake levers-they seem similar/same from the tech docs.
you can find them cheaper than 35.try germany.
if not there’s the velo orange ones.not tried them, seem a bit expensive.

    they’re great.commuted a bit on some 26×2.25 I think.
not that heavy,I got the foldable, lightskin ones from bike24 in a special offer they had.with xxxxtra light tubes the bike feels quite quick.

I remember riding a hybrid on sand.completely unsuitable,as it had 25mm pumped up to 100psi,but there was a bit of sand, just wet/dry enough to not sink in.tried it with both spds and flats as I had those double sided pedals.clipped in I had a bit of a chance as the pedal stroke was smoother.
Probably not much help at all,but hey.
