yes, there was a kore 50mm on crc,the one that looked a bit like the syntace adj stems.sorry can’t remember the model.crc have stopped selling them as well.about 25mm if I remember right.
    try spank.or one of these.

    0.clean your rims.
    2.fit vee brake pads.
    1. make sure cable routing is as good as can be.
    3.fit wider tyres.lower pressure-more grip.better braking.

I’ve got a son hub with the edelux light and it’s much better than anything I’ve tried for road riding.
it’s on a commuter/audax bike.if I could afford/justify it then I’d have one on the brompton, maybe one on the mtb.
Schmidt make a disc mount hub too.
the troutlight I’ve got is brighter.but unless trout makes a fresnel attachment to focus the beam for the road, then I can’t really use it.
It’s excellent for trails though.I’d been meaning to write him an email regarding a road attachment, like those focusing lenses i’ve seen for other lights.but designed for the road,I haven’t seen any.
maybe I could fit the trout inside an aftermarked headlight and have a 5″ light on a road bike.I think it would look pretty good.chrome.

Good beamshots over on peterwhite’s site.

    good luck.
my approach would be to make a 1:1 drawing and measure that.

I remember a durrenmatt short story, where there was a nuclear war and the high echelons of power were in a huge bunker, giving out orders and reassuring messages by radio.completely disconnected.cut off.
    the winter war I think.
    good metaphor.

but seriously.like ironically, just because some american wannabe euros post a list doesn’t mean much.
reminds me of the way japanese people sometimes dress.they think it’s how european people dress, but it’s not.
    same with the ‘rules’.
only good ‘rules’ i’ve found are velocio’s.

ps.i’ve got some bbb lime green bar tape on an all black bike.looks rad.so there.cheap too.

if you want a folder.the brompton’s the best.not the cheapest.
    had dahons,bought a 3rd for a gf.see loads of decathlon/supermarket folders.
have a brompton now.yes, overpriced, yes you have to change some stuff.
yes you shouldn’t have to but hey.some handlebars and pedals are pretty cheap.
elfin.the spec changed.that’s (also) why they’re more expensive.
the basic spec is no longer available.so they haven’t become that much dearer.the better spec is better.still not good enough-but hey.

road mechs stick out a lot less.on your mtb one you can cut out the tab that allows bottom routing though.
I’ve got some of those poncey mudguards.never again!
    did you use leather washers?
what you really need is a 1950s front der.

    emanuel

    slx 2×9 one is shorter.
I did file a notch into a mudguard on one bike, something was rubbing.
    was a folder though.

oh,have a look at the other brompton thread for some mods you can do.
cranks, handlebar, brakes,a lot can be changed.most for not very much.
that was a bit more helpful.

makes it a little bit easier/quicker.but no.
you can make your own,the musson one seems really good.
but a fork in a vice,or your bike, and some zipties, is all you need.
don’t even need the zipties actually.
    just take your time.
    cheap shimano hubs+cheap mavic rims+db spokes=great wheels.

It’s all right.Much more venting than the giro remedy I’ve got.
I still take it off for the uphills, but it’s proper hot here.
It’s not as comfortable as a full facer.or a normal lid.
expensive though,it’s gone up a fair bit I think.

I agree grahamg,my troutlight is simply something else.
The beam pattern on the edelux is better for the road though.
And it’s great that you can never run out of charge.
But the trout is easier to switch from bike to bike.
A hybrid system would be great.
    (and even more expensive)

    oh yes..
    Only wear cycling socks.
got one of those ikea hanging organizers.
    summer socks,medium socks,medium heavy socks.longer socks,winter socks.
all organized and lovely,in descreasing height/weight order.

women freak out.or want to marry me.

I would explain different concepts of soul,or lack of it.
    might be interesting for him.
Also introduces him to different points of view.

I’ve used a kore one, plenty comfortable as it’s not a monoblock design like the sdg ones.less adjustment though.
the sdg was too stiff for me.
newer sdg is different though.it’s like the kore ones.
some saddles have long rails, the on one bignose – comfortable and cheap.
dunno if those smp saddles have even longer rails.seems like it.
or you can always get a custom post made.
I remember finding quite a few making them in ti.
at least one in steel(quite cheap actually).

I remember reading about some tests made by mike burrows,he said spokes broke mainly(all?) at the head.
In the schraner manual the graphs indicate that they can all take a lot more tension than the rim can.
Still,we’ve come a long way from the original question.
    Db or pg spokes.
I’ve read 4 or 5 wheelbuilding manuals, they all reccomend db.
that’s good enough for me.I’ve built with both and the db spokes seem to give a better wheel.that’s as far as I’m interested in taking it.

aracer,I don’t have my copy here, but I’m fairly sure he (schraner)says both things.
njee20,they’re not that heavy!I think you can get about 2000 of them in a (metric) ton..
