Er, because the evidence wasn’t there to suggest an “Islamic terrorist”…….durr

no.. only a nieve fool (or someone with an agenda) would be unable to see the obvious fear from certain quarters to speak openly on a subject.

I think it’s more than obvious that the media are very happy indeed to blame “Islamic terrorists” for any crimes which they commit.

Now THERE is a stupid comment… of course the media will blame Islamic terrorists for crimes they have actually committed.. The point is, they are too quick to point the finger anywhere else but that direction until there is evidence.

so i would remove the word ‘islamist’ and just call him a terrorist.

    Why?

It’s now reported they are Al Qaeda terrorists, who underwent training in the Pakistan/Afghanistan border region and AQ is a militant Islamist organization.

Ignoring that fact helps no one.

Or, leak a lot of propane into the holes and then throw a match down the hole.

I did this with a wasp nest in our compost heap but used petrol.. Phenomenal explosion which got rid of the nest, but about 70% of the compost heap ended up in surrounding gardens.

How long ago are we talking about though ?We did this 18 mths ago & it brought my eldest son’s insurance down £50,but his first insurance for the same type of car was only £1495(Yeah,I know only !).We put the wife on the younger son’s insurance & it made £20 difference….

Last year it reduced my daughters policy by over £400.. These were the results for yesterday with comparethemarket (who were about £40 cheaper than moneysupermarket for the same policy).

18 year old daughter.. Fully Comp without second driver.. Best price Diamond insurance.. £1290

Same as above with me as second driver.. same policy.. £755.

    Err,no that only works sometimes…….

Worked on all my kids policies (and my nieces/nephews too).

Just had my renewal -£256 all in ! Which would be great if I didn’t have to pay my son’s first insurance for his 18th birthday present – £2750……..:o(

Put yourself down as second driver on the policy and you should see a substantial reduction in the quote.

Maybe I should start a thread or something?

Not worth it for a tenner pal.. but selling a pair of running shoes though.. now that would be worth about half a dozen threads at least.

Does the insurance cover for accidents on private property?

I’ve always been lead to believe if it’s not on a public highway then the insurance company don’t want to know.

Its absolutely tragic. How many more have to be sacrificed in this utterly pointless conflict? What are we actually achieving? Why are we even there?

Just get out and leave them to their medieval barbarism, and spare yet more families news like this

    Exactly

Someone I know closely has just been through this.. after 15 years of heavy drinking (and I mean 2 bottles of wine and a few cans + the hidden vodka every single day). She finally went to the GP. Liver test showed shocking results and with the help of anti anxiety pills from the doc and regular advice from a drug/alcohol councillor she has been completely t-total for three months now.

    The transformation is unbelievable.

The services offered by the GP were excellent.

Unless you class it as urgent 5-7 working days. Last time I called it was 10 days !

Anyway, it’ll cost more to administer a revised policy than just give it to a couple of billionaires…

But there are ways it doesnt have to cost more.. Simply withdraw it all together and increase the benefits cap.

    Let’s see your sums then.

So an increase in the benefit threshold increases admin costs?

    elzorillo

Yep.. scrap it and increase the benefit threshold to cover the difference.. no extra costs would be involved and a massive saving in payouts and administration.

surely it would be cheaper just to get it done than go down the legal route !

Couple of years ago my car was legally parked and written off by a Lithuanian lorry.

I arrived on the scene to find my car completely crushed and the police sending the driver on his way as he was causing an obstruction and didnt speak english!

I jumped in his cab and refused to let him go till I got some identification or details of where he was from/going. The police officer was a bit upset with me but sod it.

I made the mistake of giving the details to my insurer.. End result.. They couldn’t track him down and I lost my no claims (even though I didn’t claim!!)

One thing I didn’t consider when installing my 4.5kw burner is just how much wood I’d need.

I remember the first cubic metre hardwood I bought for £60 about a week before christmas. The guy said.. ‘Are you sure you dont want more as I wont be able to deliver between xmas/new year’ I laughed thinking he was joking!!

I’d say burning just evenings I’ll use about £200-300 each winter (at current prices).

Just planted 100 ash trees, so hopefully in a few years 🙂

I used to use any old available oil for the mix and the chain lube but I’ve started using proper 2stroke these days in the mix.

Apparently rape seed oil is best for the chain although I’ve never used it.

There’s a lady at the local gym I’m a member of.. one of these rabid liberal, saviour of the minority types.. She sits earwigging on every conversation, jumping in on any conversation or comment she deems none ‘pc’. Regularly throws the usual racist, or whatever’phobic slur at anyone who crosses her.

A couple of months ago she was on one of her (what I thought) usual rants.. She’s just learned that a traveller site was planned 100 metres from her leafy suburban home and was livid

Oh how I LOVED telling her I have many traveller friends and viewed her opinion as wrong.

Been thinking of getting a combi at home for ages, but the old back baxi boiler has happily been plodding on faultlessly (bar servicing) for the past 22 years (and I bought it second hand too).

Three weeks ago had a combi fitted at work (Ideal Logic+).. Smells of gas (been assured it’s ok).. using about £2 per day to keep just two small offices at 19c and the hot water supply is anything but reliable.

Cost to install combi + 3 rads.. £2k

Think I’ll keep the back boiler a while longer.

My elderly step father who had suffered with sever back problems for twenty odd years after an accident at work, finally found great relief from smoking weed after being recommended by a friend.

but… now in my mid 40’s I can look back at all the habitual weed smokers I’ve known over the years and can honestly say that not a single one of them is what you could call a fully functioning member of society. They seem to fall into two categories.. The pale paranoid/schizophrenic type with serious mental issues or the new age sniggering bafoon type who cant seem to hold down a regular job and suffer made up illnesses.
