Thanks for that.. Never seen them before. Do they really work?

Have this terrible vision of ripping the corner off the house 🙁

Gates now complete (used a chainsaw for the curv then tidied up with plane/sander) Not ideal I admit, but it worked. All framework joints are doweled and glued, then screwed for extra diy enthusiasm/piece of mind.

Pic here for anyone interested of first one complete.. LINK

Anyway… Unfortunately they weight an absolute ton !! way more than I anticipated.

Wooden posts will be bolted/screwed to corner of house. What bolts screws should I use??

    Any suggestions please??

Because they come with a ‘starter’ cartridge which does about 10 pages.

Thats what I used to tell people when I sold ink cartridges.. fact is though they dont 🙂

Why not just buy a new printer.. See them regularly for less than £30.

Well… as we sold many of our private energy companys to the French state, we now have a situation where they (The French) are closing down UK generation sources or selling wholesale to french distribution. They in turn sell it back to us at a greatly inflated price.

Take EDFs recent press releases as an example.. they close down power stations in the uk stating falling demand then put up prices stating lack of supply.

    Whole thing is a shambles.

Always have reef myself (personal fav being the bonzer leather). although no flipflops last me more than 6 months. I must expect too much out of them as I always end up ripping the bit that goes between the toe out !!

That sort of thing isnt really within an IFAs remit. Just need to know the rules and process on issueing a non interest bond, together with implications on the club.

Love the bring your own idea.. although my absolute favourite one in Sheffield is in a bit of a dodgy area and had a gunfight outside once whilst I was in there. 😕

Yes, draw the shape you want on it, walk into a joinery shop with a tenner and smile.

I shall try that sir 😉

Another quick question for any joiner on the forum… Gates are progressing well but I need to cut a large peice of wood with a curve. The wood is 75mm thick (way too thick for my feable bandsaw. I need to put a curve into it similar to the top of this gate..

So it’s too thick for either my bandsaw or my jigsaw.. Considered having a go with the chainsaw then spending the next decade sanding it down but considered that idea stupid.. Any suggestions please????

They tried that around here.. The shortest ‘good deed’ ever. Think it lasted two days. Loads of insults and a vandalised house made the ‘good samaritans’ reconsider.

It seemed to work though as the cars were slowing down to about 10mph just so they could shout abuse 😆

I live in North Notts and can honestly say that Nottingham has such a pull that I’ve visited it about 4 times in my entire life.. Urban sprawling dump. Sheffield/Lincoln/ even Donny are much better in my (and just about everyone I know) humble opinion.

In fact.. the only claim to fame it has amongst my mates is that one of them is missing all his front teeth due to a saturday afternoon mugging where people simply walked past has the mugger went through the unconscious lads pockets. Doesnt have the nickname ‘shottingham’ for nothing.. Great place 🙄

Some chap was telling me a couple of months ago that he’s been swimming across a local lake every morning for years.. One day he got out to be greeted by two police officers who told him he had to stop doing it.. Some bird watcher had complained that he was scaring the birds 😐

Lets not forget that the teaching union has instructed their members to undertake NO out of school activities outside contracted hours.

Pal of mine did it the other way around.. bought loads of number plates all with the same initials then changed his company name to match the plates.

Erm… why should teachers be doing “out of school” (and presumably unpaid) sporting activity?

Kids should get regular sports IN school, not have to rely on extra-curricular activities.

Just pointing out the apparent change in mindset of teachers from when I was a child.

Teachers are put under a great deal of pressure re league tables.. but they also have to take some of the blame.. I dont know a single one of my wife’s colleagues who undertakes any kind of out of school sporting activity with the pupils.

Gainsborough is no different to any other town in the region.. goole, scunny, retford, worksop, mansfield, louth, M.Rasen.. each and every one of them left high and dry in the 80’s and have stagnated since. Zero employment initiative together with loads of cheap residential new builds have generated a massive buy to let market, dragging whole areas down in the process.

Strange that Gainsborough was the one mentioned as a dump though because thats the one considered to have had the most spent on it recently and is the only one listed above that has actually got better rather than worse..

It’s not that bad these days.. was an absolute dump a few years ago but pretty average middle england small town now, with loads of new shops etc.

Never stayed there myself (sherwood) as I live just down the road and often ride around there anyway.. but usually pack the kids and a few friends off there for a week at a time just to give me and laZorilla some peace and quiet. Kids love it but looks a rip off to me.

She’s a fiction author who has had 15 books published and she’s married to someone who manages rock bands in America including Red Hot Chillies. I suspect she doesn’t need the hassle of been a MP! I’d rather live in NY too.

Very selfish thing to do if thats the real reason she quit. When you consider the work of many behind the scenes to get her elected in the first place.

I guess there more too it.

Hey.. mind your own **** business.. If I want to own a 4×4 I will.. Any lesser car wouldnt be able to cope with me blamming onto the kerbs at speed when I need to get past inconsiderate cars turning right and holding me up.

On the other hand it’s easy to buy a dog and end up replaceing everything.

I know that feeling.. Bought a wooden streaker and the only thing holding it together was the varnish. I admit that some wooden dinghys are beautiful works of art, but the only maintenance I have to do to my rotomoulded boat is make sure it’s well secured to the ground and wave it goodbye for the winter. 😀

Been a windsurfer for years but was badgered constantly by the sailors to give dinghy sailing a try.. Was immediately hooked.

I’d recomend getting one of the rotomoulded boats.. RS vision.. Topper Xenon or Laser bahia as they’re pretty indistructable.

The Bahia has a bit more room suitable for a family but the RS Vision is the cheapest s/h. All can be sailed single handed if required.

I wouldnt bother with a wooden boat as the maintenance needed is a pain in the ass.

I have a Bahia that I was very lucky to pick up in mint condition for £3k. You’ll get a vision in ok condition for about £2k.

Warning though.. It’s a hell of a lot more exciting than it actually looks.

Just watched it.. Some miserable sods will moan whatever the format is (and there seems to be a plethora of them on this particular forum). Personally I was glad to see some cycling on tv regardless of the quality and didnt think it was that bad for a first attempt.

Sounds like another gov feeler for the ‘cashless society’ the banks/politicians so readily want.

And when/if such a thing ever materialises, just watch the bank charges rocket.
