Looks like goat willow to me too..

Got one in my garden. Grows about 2m per year!! Comes in handy though as I collect all the 2m new growth sticks each year, save them in the shed and a year later have perfect dry fire starting material.

For scotland to join the EU as an independent member they have to agree to accept the Euro. Pretty radical move if you ask me.

    You sure about that?

It is a compulsory requirement for all new applicants.

Maybe this is all part of the EUs big plan to nibble away at the European states bit by bit by stiring regional descent.. next will be Cataloña.

The pathological nightmare of a socialist states of Europe will not be derailed.

That because it is not an independent nation – what is the radical change they need to expect then – its nothing at all isnt it

Its a weak argument against and i am not pin dancing further with you

I do feel that the economics arguments for and against should not be key in the debate. It’s a question of self determination!

but someone has to pay for it.

They are already in the EU with all that that entails
Its not a region its a country – hence why its a Union

Scotland as an independent nation is NOT in the EU.. and do you really think that an independent scotland will still be able to use sterling?

    elzorillo

Quite proposterous for a region seeking independence, but the only way Scotland can survive outside the UK is in the EU.. with all that that entails..

Kevin McCloud’s reputation and credibility from Grand Designs have been damaged by it

    Agree wholeheartedly with that.

There’s one on my way to work into one way traffic.. the wrong way. So you’re heading into oncoming vehicles with irrate motorists always giving you the finger, assuming you shouldnt be there.

It’s all got rather farcical and top gear’ish in the stuff they’re doing now. Even down to Kevin and his mutton chopped assistant playing the roles of Clarkson and hammond.

    I turned it off

I always consider helping the locals when I shop (by locals I mean me and my family). So I shop at the big supermarkets as they are the cheapest. This allows me more left over to maybe spend at other local establishements. Of course I could shop at our local corner shop where they will smile and say hello, whilst at the same time selling me product of dubious datage at an extortionate price. Not to mention their obvious ignorance of age/working hour restrictions.

Really dont get this hatered of Tescos etc… maybe I’m just not hip 🙄

    Right on, that’s equality.

So true.. there are a couple of women at my boxing gym who could knock most average blokes head off.. How else would you handle them coming at you?

The days of chivalry are sadly long gone I’m afraid.

I bought my baxi gas backboiler 22 years ago second hand! It’s been ultra reliable. Every year the gas guy services it he recommends I get a new economical boiler then grumbles about the old back boilers going on forever. My gas bills are not discernibly more than anyone elses I know.

I bought 10m of 316 flue liner + all the fittings from a place online for about £250.. Think the place was called fluestore. Only thing I had to get seperately was the register plate. That cost £50 made to measure (also online) and was very good quality galvanised with a built in collar & trapdoor.

Fitted it myself in a day but read (and complied with) all the building regs. Didnt bother getting the jobsworth from the council to sign it off. Few plumbers in the family so I’ll wait until one of them gets their HETAS.

Hardest bit was getting the pipe round the bends in the chimney as 10m weighs quite a bit and balancing on the chimney stack, at night, in a gale and with no scaffolding was a little unnerving to say the least.

General workhorse is a Focus estate 1.6tdci great on fuel.

Mrs has a little MR2 which is only used in the summer (last year it did a grand total of 80 miles!)

Thing is.. the junction where it happened has a big council run monitoring camera.. You can even see it’s tower base in the pic of the junction.

The only thing that I’m not sure about is that all the neighbours houses seem to be set back from the river whilst the new one is right up to the bank so it is far more prominent.

Since when is being a single parent an ‘issue of some description’.

and being a single parent will increase substantially your points score for getting social housing.

I’m sure no malice was intended.

I tried sharpening the chains a few times.. I was useless at it. So embarassingly, I just use them till I’m literally having to burn my way through the wood then I replace it.

Hot at the top is odd.. When they need bleeding it’s more usual for them to get hot only at the bottom. Maybe it’s Rad sludge build up at the bottom stopping water cirulation there.

    Junk.. you’re delusional.

Every man and his dog knows that the way to do it is to work the bare minimum hours to qualify for tax credits.

Quick look at the current HMWTC calulator shows that a couple working 24 hours per week on minimum wage will bring in about £15k. Include a couple of kids and they get just under $5k child tax credit and whatever child allowance is too. They will also qualify for full housing and council tax benefits.

I wish I had over £20k left each year after paying rent/mortgage and Council rates.

    Try opening your eyes.
