That’s not a bad idea and a worthy use. A quick Google indicates most of the clubs around my immediate area are road biased so probably not much use for suspension forks.

It annoys me even more when they do it on a bright sunny day. But I think it must be a welsh thing local to where I live.

Wow, some of you go way back.

…who’s been regularly posting on STW the longest then?

At risk of deviating away from the op, I remember Cressers so going back some way…

I’ve noted STW sometimes posts thread links to Twitter too, so not quite the same as appering in the mag.

you could change username for a while but it was causing problems with impersonations so they stopped it.

Thought so. Glad my memory still works well then 🙂

Did you used to have an option of using a secondary username, or at least changing it yourself?

I know you can’t now but I’m sure that used to be a feature of STW mkII

What? They’ve got a app for this nowadays…

Sorry to tell you all that GHD are no longer the brand to have. The designer of GHD set up a new firm, Cloud Nine, and those are the must-haves now.

These are what my fiance uses. Seems pretty happy and warranty served her well when needed – got upgraded to the next model up.

Well it’s my Welsh family that does it.

I always, like myself, had you down as an immigrant to these shores Mol 😛

    E46 or the newer E90?

My friend had the former in auto coupe guise and it was a lovely car. He happily took it up to around 160k if I recall but major engine troubles saw the end of it. Used a lot of oil and I dont think he was that fastidious with servicing and top ups so I reckon could have last longer.

not as cockish as John Thomas

    Pun intended? 😉

I’m not if this is a Welsh thing either but its something I’ve only noticed since living in Wales, but lots of Welsh tend to use their middle name as their forname. e.g Susan Jane Williams would be called Jane.

I’ve also got 8 members of staff, 5 of which are called Paul. I really should rename 4 of them…

Like others have mentioned probably not the whole story being reported here.

Our sickness policy doesnt preclude you from going on holiday if you are on long term sick, say for a stress related illness, but you are expected to inform your mangaer first. And not by way of appearing on an Austrlian news channel!

Still, 8 months for stress isnt unusual in this day and age. However, like most things there will be genuine cases and also those that flaunt the system.

We had a chap in work called John E. Thomas who insisted on being called JET. Signed off e-mails using it and everything.

Sort of ruined my childhood memories of Gladiators though 🙁

Upper body strength. I can’t lift more than about 40kgs.

One a serious note, like others have intimated above a common school of thought is to provide an answer than can in fact be deemed a positiive.

However, I have also heard that examples of weakness don’t necessarily have to be from your job role. They could be something from your personal life outside of work. Not sure of my thoughts on that approach tbh, although you could try and tell them you have a small willy 🙂

Perhaps I’m low on sugar this morning and am feeling ratty.

Plus the inane line of questioning from Suzanna and Bill wasn’t helping matters either. Neither was Cheryl exclaiming that despite her children having a car accident she still decided to venture out in her car!

    Its Mazda 323f so FWD.

The laser alignment place seemed quite professional and I got the usual print off with all the toe in and camber settings etc.

Is it possible for all of that ^ to be ok but the steering wheel to be off centre?

Re the IT Crowd I hugely enjoyed the 3 series. The one that makes me laugh the most though is ‘The Work Outing’ episode. Brilliantly acted 🙂

Yeap. But do not fear, you’re in good company ^^^^^

Oops, missed that comment from the wanderer before I posted 🙂

I lost about 6-7 kgs on the idave diet so was happy with that. I didn’t follow it to the letter of the law though as still had a splash of milk in tea & coffee but did drastically reduce refined sugars/cut out all bread and cheese though.

I miss the lack of fruit (and cheese – I love cheese) so the paleo diet is somewhat appealing.

They still had Subway in the Stone Age though right? 😉

Is this paleo/low carb diet not just the infamous idave diet, or am I missing something?

I’m early 30’s (well 30 to be precise) and am contemplating a change of career albeit not as vast a change as you – Facilities Management to more Building Surveying.

My thoughts on career changes are its better to make any changes whilst my fiance and I have no other major comittments such as mortgages, kids plus we’re free to move location without too much disruption.

As my working life has rolled on over the years I’m find I’m more motivated by job happiness and satisfaction rather than financial gain. After all you will spend the majority of your time each week in work 🙁 So if the sums work out I say make the jump before its too late and you look back with regret.

    most criome

    Irish crime?

Anyway, re the stats thing I’m very doubtful about reading too much into those. A firend of mine who works for the police was explaining to me the other about prior to the crime stats his force get instructed to break down a few doors/carry out a few outstanding warrant arrests etc etc so as to massage their perfomance figures in the annual stats.

    EDIT:

The various theories above ranging from organised crime to local scrotes are probably all true

I’d err on the side of very organised IMHO. More anecdotal evidence here but a firend in Bristol had his lovely Marin full suspension stolen. It was secured via ground anchor in the concrete floor of his garage. They actually sawed the top tube to pinch it leaving him with a small 2″ ring of his frame. I can only presume it was taken for the parts and they knew exactly what they were after.

Is this just a generational thing?

For sure I had my moments as a child and probably a few when I was a teenager too. But growing up I did (and still do) have the upmost respect for my parents and would never dream of swearing directly at them.

Re the OP I am perhaps in a similar vein to you and am looking to improve my photography. Perhaps I am more of a beginner than you though.

Like you I’ve been looking at courses such as this one local to me http://www.ffotogallery.org/introduction-to-photography-beginners but with some trepidation.

Anyway, just a mention as there might be similar organisations close to your location offering similar courses. Our local Council also runs adult learning courses so that could also be worth checking out close to you.

I remember reading an article about David Coulthard back in the day, describing training rides where he’d road ride up to the top of the mountains above Monaco, then swap to a mountain bike (that had been shuttled up by his coach) and ride down offroad.

Might be an uplift business idea in there somewhere. Well, for a sadist who loves climbing anyway 😉

    Caffreys.

It seemed to disappear off the market for a while and then was re-introduced as a weaker version.

If you were fitting ‘pierced crown’ straight blade forks in the style of the De Kerf seatstays then I would definitely respray so collar and cuffs match.

However, if sticking with the Salsa then I vote leave black.

(note: I am also not a designer. But then I would never werr red trousers either)

One weekend, we went round with dummy control units (digital displays, backlit, looked the business, but not connected to anything) and blutacked them to the walls at various locations. Service desk complaints stopped immediately, everyone was happy.

In a similar vein I work in FM and run a large office. The temperature is supposed to be electronically controlled throughout the building to a constant but obviously fluctuates by a degree or so depending on other factors, equipment, no of staff in a given area, solar gain etc.

Anyway, we used to be inundated with complaints it was either too hot and too cold, often in the same area. After a while we just pretended to change the thermastat settings and then told staff. They always thanked us and noticed the difference so I presume it was just a placebo effect most of the time 🙂

Thought I recognised your username (& 323f) from the other site 😮 Great site it is too. I’ve the same bj 323 as you & if there’s one thing I’ve learnt about 323 ownership, its to keep an eye on the rear arches 😉

Yep, like that very much and a lovely colour.

I’ve got an old (92 I think) Trekker Elite sat in the garage at my parents house. Still got the original exage groupset on it too 🙂

Out of interest where did you get the frame protectors/bumpers that fit over the cables?
