Which insurance broker can I can?

I have a Mazda & joined a Mazda owners forum I believe is run by Neil F above…

I saw some recommendations for a broker called Sky Insurance (nowt to do with Murdoch) so tried them and they came out the cheapest. Always worth a try but you need to call for a quote as don’t think they offer an over the net service, which you mentioned might be a problem

I went through an insurance broker for my recent insurance as it was by far the cheapest compared to shipping on the net.

However, after years of shopping around I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s all just a postcode lottery. With my current policy if I use my parents postcode in Devon the premium is £300 & if I use my current address in Cardiff it’s just over £600. Go figure.

Edit: oh & I’ve got 8 years no claims 🙁

Luckily for customers they have hired some new kids during the re-fit called “go getters”, who wander about holding a sign saying “ask me if you can’t find stuff”. But they are new, and also don’t know where anything is!

On a similar vein one of the big Tescos in Cardiff used to emply youths on roller skates who could quickly nip off and grab something from the shelves if you reached the checkout and had forgotton something.

They don’t do it anymore though, probably something to do with H&S I imagine.

Serious question here, but could they bring voyager back to earth? In case they forgot to add an item to the shopping list

Somebody has already asked “With today’s technology, would it be possible to launch an unmanned mission to retrieve Voyager I?”

Thanks for that Mike. What is now seriously freaking me out though is that my forname and middle name is exactly the same as the person asking the question in your link….

I’m hoping someone suddenly spots it approaching Earth from the opposite direction.

Brilliant 🙂 All that to find out space is actually one big ring road – a bit like the M25

Thats awful news 🙁 My fingers are crossed for a full recovery & back to his best

I had a fairly big accident a few months back which shocked me somewhat, and hearing about accidents like this and the one suffered by Michael Bonney does make me think twice about mtbing sometimes. Sadly though I guess thats just what they are – accidents – and the consequences can be severe.

How about Red Bull happy with a potentially weaker no 2 driver in Ricciardo as they know Vettel will be off at the end of this season. Alonso happy for Kimi to join Ferarri and he and Vettel are swapping seats!

Clearly if the insurance company heard about this hypothetical situation they could hypothetically refuse to pay out on all subsequent claims…

This sort of thing worries hypothetically worries me 🙂

Basically its the MIL and I dont want either of us to unecessarily have to go through the rigmarol of premiums, inflated repair costs etc etc for what is a fairly minor bump. Obviously I’ll get the car properly checked out at a few garages to get an idea of costs and she may wish to go down the insurance route pending costs anyway.

But similarly I dont wish to break any laws. Checking the guidance online I can see any stipulation that any repairs must go through an insurance company so I suspect this is okay.

    What car is it?

I replaced the battery in my remote key fob on a Mazda. Unfortunately I left it so long I think with a new battery the fob no longer unlocked the car – I think it must have wiped the momory or something. However, I was able to re-programme the fob myself using an online guide I found so you might be able to do something similar?

What will happen when you break/lose your HTC One after a month? Then you’ll be left phoneless with a long contract to see out that you wont be able to do anything with unless you buy a new phone outright.

Mind you if you lost the Nexus 4 you’d have to stump up the cost for buying a new phone outright as well…

I was tempted to go Nexus 4 and sim only but I didn’t have £200 expendable cash lying around to chuck at a phone so continued with the contract and got an HTC One (yes I know it works out more in the long run) which is a great phone. Almost makes my Nexus 7 redundant but they pair together nicely.

Molgrips – Yes, the big problem with Windows is what people do to it without realising. They click ‘yes’ to install everything and everything they buy comes with crappy software that they install because they bought the thing, so it gets bogged down. It’s not necessarily the users’ fault, but a bit of awareness helps massively.

Jambalaya – I do agree that it’s the downloading of too many programmes that causes Windows machines to hang but Microsoft were always happy with that as it encouraged people to buy another machine which meant they got another fee.

Is there a general rule of thumb to avoiding this (other than never downloading anything obviously)? I’ve an old Acer and whilst mechanically its okay, operationally its creaky as you like and takes about 45 mins to start up and struggles to open Word, Excel etc or browse the net.

We’ve got a nice HP atm so I want to try and avoid a similar fate befalling it!

Since I’ve been walking to work lately I’ll chip in with my two pence worth…

Its the morons that ride on the pavement when there’s a perfectly good road adjacent.

And not to mention the tit that ran a red light and came skidding to a halt as I was crossing the road. He didn’t look like much of a cyclist to me though wearing his sisters jeans and a pair of flip flops.

Actually, in terms of casting actors to roles I can’t think of many who would’ve done a better job than Viggo Mortensen, Ed Harris and Naomi Watts in A History of Violence

tbh driving around the uk any major understeer incidents are likely to see you on the other side of the road pretty swiftly or into a barrier.

    DO NOT:

TAKE the insurance waivers out if offered!

They are usually terrible value. Use a company like THIS instead.

    +1

We hired from Europcar a few years ago to drive around Denmark/Norway/Sweden. No problems to report but after research beforehand the common consensus was to take out a 3rd party insurance waiver rather than the one offered by the hire company.

I decided to leave Van Persie out

Ooh, thats a bold move. Can you really afford to leave him out when all around you will have him and all those points 😉

Edit: Having said that its bloody nigh on impossible to structure a half decent team around him as he costs so much.

Either way looks like something is going to have to get replaced.

Made some enquiries but don’t think you can get spare axles for those pedals and obv a new chainset will be a fair chunk. What with the jersey I trashed and the dental work on my tooth this crashing malarky can be quite pricey 🙂

It definitely felt on the piss cycling back to the car. I think I’ve got a spare pedal so will try that. The decking is straight by the way 🙂

Calendar -> settings menu within the app (top right), Accounts?

Is the FB calendar shown there?

No FB calendar option there but following Dan’s advice if I un-check ‘HTC sync manager’ it removes the FB entries but also my own personal appointments I entered on my old phone and migrated across, which is a bit of a pain

    Ahh poor guy.

I love bears and wouldn’t like to meet one but always feel sorry when I see/hear about stories like this.

I remember a similar tinge of sadness in Nairobi National Park which is now literally surrounded by the city.
