I tend to buy a car outright for £3k and then run it for as long as possible until its not longer economically viable or has died. I’m intrigued to see how it’ll play out with EV’s and whether there will reach a point where they’ll become affordable for the mainstream.

All on FS and most with droppers according to this article. Assuming they’ll all be 29ers…

So provided you just deny everything now that’s good enough?

    Winning – I’m off on a little rampage…

Quite. I’m just off to watch the film ‘Falling Down’ to get me in the mood!

I reckon this would work quite well in a toasted sandwich (or anything with cheese really).

    Beer, Bacon & Chilli Jam

Bought some at Christmas and it basically lasted two days. Soooo nice

A friend of my wife got pinged by the app telling her to isolate for 4 days. Seemed like an odd timeframe to me so I thought it was a glitch… But reading above, maybe it’s just the app told her she had been in contact with someone 6 days late into the 10 day isolation period?

I’ve read your posts on here and it sounds like you’ve gone through more the past few years than some people do in their entire lifetime.

My sympathies for you and your family. Stay strong and hope you can support each other through this horrible time.

Morrisons have a much better range of ales and beers.

Second that. I find Sainsburys generally have the worst selection out of the traditional supermarkets, but then I try and buy direct from the local breweries if I can, which perhaps isn’t quite as cheap, but I guess helps them a bit more.

I guess the F1 drivers have so much exposure to driving at high speed they’ve developed an ability to process information on timescales that us mere mortals can’t really imagine.

The closest I’ve ever come to speed (and its about as close to F1 as I am to becoming the Pope) was at one of those track days. I did a couple of laps in a Ferrari which was bloody quick to me, but then paid for a couple of passenger laps in a Radical SR1. I can’t really remember minute details as the speed was so unnatural to me, but the one thing I did take away was the braking. The guy still had his foot flat to the floor and was accelerating well into the braking areas of the car I was driving just before 😬 I can only imagine the amount of info the F1 guys process.

Have some washable cotton masks that work supplied, but they’re 4 layer and get v hot quickly, which then causes my glasses to steam up. This is a pain when moving around sites at work.

The single use ones don’t seem to cause that issue and are much more comfy, so a reusable one with the same properties would be ideal!

I found a screen where it listed the times of scans it had done, and no of contacts but frustratingly can’t find it now. On Android.

On Android here and I had noticed that too. It was basically a list of all the scans it had done and times. Can’t find it on the app anymore now, but I did update it so perhaps its been removed?

We bought from the Dell outlet site Dell Outlet UK. Went for one that was listed as ‘scratched and dented’ I literally cannot find a mark on it.

We got a Windows 10 machine with an Intel Core i3 gen 10 processor and a 128GB Solid State Drive (SSD). A SSD will be quicker than a HDD Hard Drive, but for a budget will typically be a smaller capacity if that is a concern if you’re storing lots of music/photos. Could always get an external hard drive to expand capacity though.

When looking I also found another Dell outlet site – Dell Refurbished I didn’t buy from these but from what I could tell they appear to sell former business laptops, and the spec is often higher.

As I get older, crashes seem a lot worse than when I was a carefree teenager. Perhaps my attitude to risk has changed and I’m less carefree?

I also seem to have developed a propensity to faceplant. My last two offs have seen me break my nose twice, knock a tooth out and both times split my philtrum clean through, requiring maxilofacial surgery.

Some skills coaching or courses are definitely in order. And I’ve also wondered whether the 2011 geometry of my bike is partly to blame.

For a lower ABV without being alcohol free, one of my favorites is Pocket Rocket by Arbor Ales.

A lot of flavour without the high ABV of some IPAs. But also unfined and a bit hazy if thats your thing.

So if I’m training twice a week until Tehran I’m more hopeful I can get to be confident doing 1500m in open water and with all sorts of carnage going on!

Is that another auto-correct typo Joe, or are you planning on visiting Iran this summer!?

We were with John Lewis Pet Insurance for our cat. We did have to make a couple of minor claims for around £200-£300, which in fairness we easy to do. However, our premium soon shot up from around £13 p/m to around £40 p/m. We’re now with PetPlan but the only downside is that moving to a new insurer means that any pre-existing conditions are exempt.

In hindsight, I don’t think I’d bother claiming for small vet bills, as the premium increase probably worked out more than the vet bill.

Another consideration is whether you go for a policy with lifetime cover for a treatment or condition for a non-lifetime policy.

Anyway, (IMO)head torches are for the trails.
I don’t use them on the road.

This x million. That and strobe effect flashing lights. I get that a flashing light can be a useful accompaniment to a steady light on the road, but on the cycle path I commute on its like a Ibiza disco some nights.

I’ve done one of these and drove a Ferrari F360. It was nice and clearly fast, but like others on here the best buy was a paid passenger ride in a Radical SR1.

It blew the Ferrari out of the water with the cornering speed and how late it could brake. We were also on track with a bunch of R8’s and Gallardo’s and flew past them all. I was practically shaking when I got out!

Hardly revolutionary, but I discovered the other day that the banana soreen loaf is delicious when toasted and slathered in PB.

Is there a solution to this?

Basically, I can’t use the site on my android phone as within 10 seconds I get redirected to a pop up informing me ‘congratulations, you’ve won a new iPhone’.

Back button doesn’t work so it’s a case of closing the browser and starting again.

Not a huge amount of time difference between commuting on my CX bike with 35mm slicks, or my FS with 2.35 knobblies. But what I do find the mtb tyres wear out very quickly compared to the slicks, and I can run full length guards on the CX – this is far more important to me

Chief. In one of our old places there was a local ginger tom (big and fluffy but not a Maine Coon) who was awesome and we nicknamed him Chief.

We re-homed a Ragdoll and his pedigree name is Lord Snooty, which is quite apt, although his everyday name is Chester.

I too have noticed an increasing incidence of targeted ads for things I’ve talked about but not googled.

I’ve got the messenger app on my phone (on Android) but when checking the permissions setting there looks to be the option to switch on/off things like mic, messages etc. Tin foil hat time indeed!

If you’re into gin, then the Canary Gin Bar is worth a visit.  Quite dark and moody inside, a bit like a prohibition era bar.

I’m more NE Bristol but will also keep a look out locally.

It does seem that in Bristol that bikes are only safe indoors, and even then that’s not guaranteed.

We have a similar issue with persistent weeds in the paving to our back garden.

We have a cat and next door have 4 so not too keen on the use of chemicals, but I did notice that Lidl were knocking out a weed burner the other week for £15.  Not sure if they’ll still be in stores, but I fancied that approach. More fun too

Hmm, I know what you mean.

I still can’t get over the fact that in 1989, American cyclist Greg LeMonde won the Tour de France despite having 39 pellets embedded in him due to a hunting accident two years before.

One day, this useful nugget is going to win me a pub quiz.
