thanks to a previous thread on here I’ve recently bought a new PC – check out pc specialist as an alternative to ebuyer. Hours of fun! I started down the overclocked 2500k route but If you’re not going to overclock (good for high intensity gaming), you don’t need the k version. I eventually settled on the standard 2500 so didn’t need an upgraded cooler or PSU. Helps to keep you in budget. As above, recommend P67 or Z68 series over H67 mobo.

Similar for me also. On Friday morning I was determined to ride the Mary Townley Loop on Saturday – early start so I didn’t jeopardise my pass out. Then someone kept refilling my wine glass all night so woke up late with massive hangover. Only managed to fit in the southern section from Rossendale to Toddy & then cut back. Rode in a cloud the whole way – miserable!

Hi chrispy, I’m down with the outlaws so might be able to wangle a pass out. How long does your loop take? Was out around grimspound and manaton today and conditions were perfect.

I rode Cut Gate for the first time today. Crossmarks front & back absolutely fine. Nearly had a big off coming down the zig zags trying to negotiate a couple of riders walking up; didn’t embarrass myself too much!
Maybe Langsett is the better start end as took a long time driving back through Glossop to get to Manc.

I’m in a similar situation but I heard there is a new bios replacement coming out this year – startup times similar to Apple. Anyone know when this is due – would it be worth holding on for that?

ahh the memories…. this was my first ‘proper’ ride when I was 13. I’d got a new double clanger for Chrimbo so thought my lead-piped Carlton Circuit was the proverbial dogs b’s. Needless to say I was off in the 1st group, went straight out the back, and repeat for all the subsequent groups! Someone very kindly gave me a lift up Bison Hill & gave me a few biscuits but I still bonked badly a bit later on. I finished, but no idea in what time, but it took a further few hours to ride home. Didn’t touch the bike again for a few weeks after that!

I have some experience of the 320d M sport Touring. Book figure is 61mpg but I get nowhere near that – just over 40 when driving carefully.
Different service intervals for different bits so always seems to be at the garage, and hence paying a lot of servicing.
Rubbish in the snow, (as most rwd cars are) but insurance wouldn’t allow winter tyres.
    Hard suspension, but comfy seats.
More of a toy estate so would get something else if you want a proper load lugger.

I’ve just bought some from Planet Fear in Keswick. Similar price to CRC at the moment. I’m a 41 in the 5-10s and specialized BGs but a 42 in Shimano if that helps.

Now just waiting for my superstar nanos to arrive to try them out!

Agree with last post; fine with normal socks but I’d go up half a size for thicker socks like the sealskinz.

re nicko74 – that’s been happenng to me – Spech innertubes (loads of them so not a bad batch) coming away from the presta valve. I always assumed I had a burr or something on the valve hole that was slicing through it, but despite filing, it kept on happening. I never considered it could be the tyre – how does that happen then?

I’d be up for it if there is a novices category
Where exactly in North Manchester would this be held?

feeling for you mate; had my 5 Spot robbed off the roof of my car outside my LBS a couple of months ago. Have been scouring South Manchester for it ever since. Shop were great – gave me a demo Stumpy for a week for nothing so as not to ruin my holiday. I've been watching Ebay & gumtree but nothing yet (I'll mail you how) Have phoned all the local shops to keep an eye out too.
Insured as named valuable item with Halifax & they paid out without any hassle.
Lessons learned – take some pictures. Have LBS give a valuation if you don't have receipts. chain bikes to car roofrack/carrier – Thule locks are easy for scallies to force.
