ifunbox is usable and free. Only works if the settings on you iPod are set to “enable use as harddrive”.
It allows you to copy all the files from your iPod onto your harddrive.

I used to occasion the Lyttleton in my battered Yaris as well, the wychbury was just on my road but as I used to be kept awake by scalleys fighting in the carpark almost every night I hardly ever drank in there. Although it was always a good spot to watch the rugby on a saturday. whats your local RD? the french hen?

there’s only about 13 mm difference in effective toptube length between the 16″ and 18″ and I like the standover height. The stem isn’t *that* long either. 75mm or so. might play about with the saddle though after all the suggestions.

Thats just crazy talk coolhandluke. 90 degrees out? you’ll be pitchforked for suggesting it.
brake hose is pretty good compared to some of my other bikes. straight down through the fork whats not to like?

Saint cranks cos I like them (and they were a fairly good price and not *that* heavy). At the moment I need the chainstay protector cos the chain is a bit loose. Will shorten it properly and readjust everything when I’ve filed down the chaintug to fit the dropout.
Also I tend to rub my inner heal on the chainstays and seatstays of my bikes when pedalling. not a problem with my normal shoes but the northwave winter boots have a metal mesh thing that really takes its toll. (not that I’ve used them on this bike yet)
Seems the bike has split opinion.

yeah, no poploc lever, going to pick one up for it though, I reckon it’ll climb really well with the forks locked out. My other bikes aren’t lookers either so I can live with the abuse. I’m not sure about the Amanda Holden analogy. My bike has a function.

yeah, so far on the 2 rides its done(once around follow the dog, on old heavy wheels, once around the lanes and bridleways) it has been ace to ride. My legs and lungs are holding it back a bit though. I’m looking forward to testing it out properly over the long mynd and over the NW alps.
It makes a fairly disturbing woodpecker noise when the chain knocks on the chainstay so I think I’m going to have to get the chain tensioner to fit properly and put some tension through it.
Its definitely not pretty. I’ve had the frame for a while but only just got round to putting it together.

the fork is wound down to 120 in that picture, goes up to 150. It had a good ride out today exploring the local shropshire/blackcountry bridleways, might take it to visit my mate up gisburn way next weekend and really screw my legs up.

Chain is kind of brown. Its some halflink thing that I bought from swinnertons at the last minute. The chaintug doesn’t fit on the dropout properly which is kind of irritating. Oh yeah, the revs were a bargain too.
Unfortunately its not my garden, tis the edge of the local woods.
I went to all that trouble lining up the logos and you want me to blank them out? This place is goin to the dogs I tell thee.

don’t hold back boys n girls. its functional….honest. It’s fun to ride and it’ll definitely get me fit.

Its a 456 carbon, isn’t it a beautiful thing SBZ? yeah, I like the saddle back there, I tend to sit on the nose of the saddle on all my bikes.

Good shout on the clutch gigs, big fan of them here. Was impressed by the effort thrown in by the hives in Vancouver in 2003, an extra feature on an amazing trip. Qotsa in the Birmingham academy was pretty amazing too.

Of course these are all trumped by any half man half biscuit gig. Mazin.

Early on today I had 2 magpies hopping around the garden in the snow.
Now I have 1 and a half magpies and a satisfied looking buzzard who turned up out of nowhere. It was quite impressive to see such a big bird at work.

It’s a farmhouse on a hill with no hedges around it so I reckon it’d be fairly easy to get line of sight with the floor dish thingy. I’ll try and get hold of the landlord first though. The dishes aren’t too intrusive these days and it would be on the back, just not sure if it’s listed. Sky have only just managed to get the broadband up to speed here and I’m moving out, typical.

I’m in Shropshire so not right close. May hang on to it for sandboarding or something as it was my first board…. Sentimentality is a tragic thing. A snowbike sounds interesting though, bmx frame would be best I reckon for chucking around/manouverability. I actually reckon something smaller like a short freestyle ski or snowblades would be better for steering than a board.

Where are you based? I have an old board. Airwalk I think it is probably 158cm length.
    Snow bike eh. intriguing

turns out I was just a bit cranky after spending such a long time with the wet and dry. It was a bit irritating to say the least. At least the friendly folk of STW have put me in my place and I shall MTFU. Nitromors is on and the soft wire brush will be coming out tomorrow.

Will take it to the bike shop to have the bb faced and the thread run through anyway though I reckon.

The fork lowers went in as well as the stem and crown. they didn't even tape off the steerer (which was the only bit of bear metal visible). But its almost all sorted now though so I think I should apologise to anyone I offended with the original tirrade of powder coater abuse.

sorry mic, just got in from the pub. it was city powder coaters in digbeth. They are clearly more used to car wheels, fences and radiators. to be fair it was dirt cheap, (granted not £25) so I do have the cash spare to get the problems fixed. I was just a bit pissed off earlier cos the enduro sl has so many bloody nooks and crannies, I at least thought the BB would be masked. that I had to ream the powder coat out of. wish I'd asked on here first to be honest. but no…. I thought I knew better than the internet brain trust. ah well hopefully it will be sorted this week and I can hit clent/wichbury for a ride.

hmm, when I handed it over I told the bloke what I needed masking and he described his rolled up paper technique. I was happy that this would prevent most of the overspray and left him to it. he did nothing. the fork lowers were full of powder luckily that all blasted out with the pressure washer. I guess I'll pay the LBS a visit with my tale of woe and a wad of cash.
your a bunch of judgemental gits aren't you.

take sensor. insert in old cut off piece of innertube (you probably have some of these lying around) seal up with electrical/gaffer tape. insert under laces and above tongue and run. water proof and next to free. It worked with mine for as long as I bothered to use it. (got a garmin forerunner after).

    keep it simple

    3 * 4 = 12

    -4 * 2 = -8

    2 * 4 = 8
    -4 * 1 = -4

    1 * 4 = 4
    -4 * 0 = 0

    0 * 4 = 0
    -4 * -1 = 4

    -1 * 4 = -4
    -4 * -2 = 8

    -2 * 4 = -8
    -4 * -3 = 12

All about patterns when you look at it. (go down the columns not across BTW).

my first bike was a trek 930 as well. but given to me by my uncle. it was a 91 or 92 model. black with lumo yellow decals. No decent forks back then although my uncle had bought a khs montana pro with MSPORT manitous hence the hand me down. I bent the trek in half 6 months later and from then on came the bike upgrading/replacement bug.

yup, brand x hard tail, or a merlin dual. I have a matt black one that my girlfriend rides. frame was £65 new.

I have a drs on my enduro. its good. no chain issues at all since installing. the plate by the frame stops it dropping down, the bash stops it over shifting.
initially confused as it was a 2008 bike but has ISCG old tabs. make sure you check as spesh had the information buried deep in their website.

yeah, I'm a teacher and when my battery on my everyday watch ran out and I resorted to wearing the 305 to work all I got was "is that a time bomb?" or " are you under house arrest? what times your curfew?" hilarious. don't notice the size too much in use though. The bike mount is a bit brittle so be careful putting the bike on its handlebars.
I broke mine. not replaced it yet, just wear it on my arm when riding now.

Our last Ofsted visit was by an HMI and was alright, he seemed like a nice bloke for a change. Much better than the previous 5 officious overassured muppets. Thought he might even be a half decent teacher himself unlike the others.

I'd definitely say marking exams was the most irritating, followed by chasing reports and data from other teachers who seem to enjoy the sound deadlines make as they woosh past.

I have the Garmin forerunner 305. basically the 310 looks like a waterproof, more useable version of mine.

It works really well for tracking your route and monitoring performance with the HRM, the GPS chip is accurate (even in the steep sided valley at nant yr arian) and the battery life is good. (it lasted a 7 hour rat race around birmingham). I also got the cadence sensor with mine. not much use on the mtb but pretty good on the road.

Mainly its just for keeping track of my training and events, on the odd occasion I have tried to use it with memory map for navigating a route its been ok but not as good as my smartphone with mm installed.

rented house so I think I'll try to get to the retaining strap over the top of the garage door with a hacksaw blade, that'll only be £20 to replace as opposed to wrecking the landlady's garage door.
    cheers for the advice.

disappointingly aware of the smack the top of the door trick, sadly cos the spring is detached from the handle the catch has sprung up further than normal and the whack it ard trick doesn't seem to be doing it. usually park the van right in front of it to stop pesky bike thieves.
