if you can get to sunny Todmorden then get to 'walsden' and go up 'Ramsden wood road' and bear left at some new houses and this takes you up and over the moorland heading towards littleborough (this is part of the mary townley route, and you,ll come out at summit tunnels, bear left uphill agin then following the blue n white signs…then take a sharp right turn down a tricky decent into walsden agin,(main road) then as from there bobs your uncle..you decide…you can cross the road fromwalsden and go up the packhorse trail to the small hamlet of Bottomley and over the walsden moor and head over towards Shepherd Rest pub, then over to Mankinholes…where you can pick up the dusty track over to Callis Bridge and then its on yer own way back to Hebden,…..

i have kenda on my hardtail, very grippy for winter slodge ! not good for tarmac tho.(well you have to come across tarmac occasisonlly and it slows you up, but great cross country tyres… i have full suspension bike now, so getting used to mountain king tyres that came with the bike (alot different,)……

yep at speed its gotta be challenging !!!! very ‘slatey’ tracks too.. you dont get that at Dalby… i felt i little exposed to my elbows if i had come off at speed- gulp ! had my six one ‘knee pads’ on tho , glad i did as i saw someone at the car park with a bad knee injury…
must get some elbow pads to take next time.. yehaaa whhoohooo

hmmm, well a mixed terrain for the majority of my rides, grassy mud, gritty , cobbly lanes some tarmac and alot of gritstone moorland rides.
but mainly enquiring about places like ‘Lee quarry’…. what tyre pressures should i have for this place , if anyone knows..
“mountain king 2.2” tyres is what came with my bike… ive never rode with these tyres before… ive had ‘maxxis high rollers’ and ‘kenda tyres’on a previous bike.

i bet yer not as samll as me….. *5ft) us small people are alittle vunerable at times, we seem to get looked down at for some strange reason, but over the years ive learnt to get an ‘armadillo shell’ and become tough with my innerself ! you have to be ‘strong’ and keep up a ‘front’ otherwise people will tread all over you…
when god handed out tall people he left some of us behind ! but dont forget little things come in great packages.. be strong and ignore ‘ranting idiots’ (thats their fault for being in that state of mind ! send em to the ‘DOG Whispering’…he rehabilitates people too !!! lol

lol !!! have you never seen y postings ? im much worse off than you as im 5ft 0 inches ! ive scoured the country looking for a bike that fits and wanted the Titus range, but in the end it was going to work out alot more than the ‘orange Diva’ that you mentioned… can i just tell you that the Diva comes in short and long sizes !
im plumping for the Diva, ive battled with this for many months, i originally wanted to get the womens cannondale rush or is it Rise anyway that model started at 15 inch frame and ive sat on loads of bikes , even tried the womens Marin but alas the cross bar was still digging in me at the standover height test….
now you being 5ft 3 inches will have alot more choice than me… only ruddy bike that fits is gona cost a s mall fortune but the orange Diva fits me well and i road all day on it (6 hours ) no stopping…it was brill for me…so yep thats the bike for me..

well this is alittle tamer than the above….. but whilst at the car wash today a car drove up with a roof full of baked beans and tomatoe sauce spread all around the car doors…….. did look funny tho !!!
but i have to ask (why didnt the owner throw a bucket of water on the roof to swish away the beans before he got to car wash ? he could have attempted to scubb the car just alittle bit before entering car wash…. anyway it had all dried on coc wen he drove out of car wash the tomatoe sauce was still spread all arond the car doors !
i would have walked over to the ‘hot jet wash’ myself and given it a dam good spraying ……… ohhh dear wonder what it will be next week ..egg n toast (brown sauce for a change…lol

who said a 10 miler ? thats way too far for a newbie… oh dear… she mite be put off by shear exhaustion..
hey theres a nice track up at the Summit at the tunnels thats littleboro way ! i ride up there often (as part of a ride i do) and its not too bad to take a newbie…
i ride with my son and ive learnt to keep up now on those big climbs, lol. i have no choice in the matter he never stops !! (“nearly at the top now” he keeps shouting back at me, the top never ends and wen i do reach it- theres still no rest ! hahha no rest for the wicked then…

you spelt Todmodern wrong for a start !…. its spelt ‘Todmorden’ !!! or id you find the headstone on Rochdale road you pronounce it ‘Tod mor den’..

my home town and is the best for hill climbs and the best decents for mountain biking (yeah).
yep we could do with a bike park with some real jumps…. and also some board walk stuff up in the park woods ! just a few not totaly swamp it.
and ive always said we shud have a bouldering wall somewhere in our town (the old doctors on Burnley rd perhaps.
