i was out on the fells othernite and was stuck in snow drifts…banking up ! trouble is the snow was too soft for riding on , so i had to push my bike alot of the way till i got off the fell…grrrr….u could hear running water underneath you it was that deep..lol.

not snowing here (approx manchester area) but its dam well n freezing tho…

ive decided to go for the Hope vision 2…i saw a good deal on one of the websites so just awaiting delivery now…yipeeee

crikey where has the snow gone ??? i live in 'singletrack' area (sunny Tod)and went high on the fells and got stook in snow drifts and had to push my bike in deep snow (up to my knees) (it wasnt even snowing)…crikey i became a reight guru today.. had to push my bike half of the ride !!! grrrrrrr….not impressed…the bike just sank in the snow…tried to keep the momentum going but too much sinking going on ,,,lol.. im only 4ft 11 inches ..i could have sank and never to be seen agin.. (oooh) lol..

all you need now is a splash of snow to cover it….

once went over handlebars and hit my thighs first ! a reight thud…had black n blue legs for few weeks…got it hurt like hell..lol..they dont make thigh pads do they ????? hahaha

i live in singletrack area….sunny Tod…. still lots of snow on fells…but theres going to be snow and mud slides soon with floods from melting snow (im building an Ark ! lol…..

mite look at newer caving lights…had mine for a about 4 years now, so if i can get a smaller battery pack then i mite opt for a caving lite…afterall they are very waterproof !!! never had a problem with my caving light with leakage and theres alot of water been dripped on it over the last couple of years.. so yeah smaller lighter battery pack wud be great..

the caving light i use at the mo has a 'petzl' strap attached to light… i use cable ties to strap it tight to helmet… just that the battery back is quite bulky at the back and heavy,,

cast iron.. ? you need to be shwartzenager to lift the dam thing ! lol
Teflon are pretty sound …. i think you did ok on having a pan that lasted 3 years ..think yourself lucky….lol i go through pans like drinking water ! lol…. vacuum cleaners die on me pretty quick too…solved that problem tho with having all wooden floors..lol

mite as well go on using my caving light then… ! i have strapped it to my helmet..just that the battery pack is abit too heavy…well ya cant have everything can you ..lol

jeepers back in the day of 1985 when i got married you paid for the church and local venue to do a beautiful buffet spread, i had an uncle who built those old fashion 'model T ford' cars, so we borrowed one of those..(brilliant) and everything was hunkey dorey…! none of this 3k lark….. how times have changed ! then few years later people started to get married abroad..st lucia etc… even more expensive… its gone OTT ever since.. who wants alot of debt at start of a marriage…..but thats how it is today….hohum.

this time last year we walked up in the snow and it was bottle ice most of the way…. very dangerous unless you had an ice pick and crampons on yer boots (which we didnt…… wud be awful on a bike..lol

i tried sealskin…found my feet were stilll cold…. so i wear good walking socks…

lol tommytowtruck…we did the same thing as kids but we use the innertubes in the water ..'Bolton Abbey' river…we sailed down the rapids in our innertubes…we had great fun every summer……

the rabbits have deep burrows !!they can keep warm !! hope the woman in question hasnt got whippets as pets….in which case i wud be concernd…. they dont have thick fur !…… dogs are wild really..it all started back with the wolves….its just us humans that have got soft and brought them up to live in the house… i have a shed but i wouldnt dream of sending my little whippet out there in those sub zero temperatures… my whippet jumps under the duvet before i can even get me toes in there… (at least he keeps me feet warm at nite ! lol
