16 minites ??? crikey…. yep when i went up today it was very windy,, and a few weeks back it was well sunny with no wind at all…there were 3 0r 4 windsurfers in the res too….looked pretty choppy did the water.

finbar : you sound like a classic roadie to me (lol)….doesnt hurt you to nod once in a while 😉
i nod to most people when im out on the MTB and recently become a roadie myself too……. i nod to MTB’ers and Roadies…. admittingly some of the roadies out there have the snarly look on their faces..why is this ? if they arent happy (THEN WHY THE HELL ARE THEY RIDING IN THE FIRST PLACE) 😉
i have to laugh at my hubby when we are both in the car (he always mimics riders as they ride past…its quite funny the expressions that are on my hubbys face… 😉

my five doesnt go on gravel paths as someone stated : i can assure you of that…. im a mountain/fells guru !!!!(just recently it hammered 47 grueling miles in one go mine is certainly being put to the test of the orange five…. bollaxed one chainring but thats to be expected …
i do hope more orange five owners reply to this thread and remark on what a strong bike they are…..just wondering if the bike the op has …is a one in a few hundred that unfortunately hadnt been put in the oven for long enough… 😉

…what you’d rather be in huge amounts of pain for a trip to the Alps ? the Alps will ALWAYS be there waiting for you….
how can you possibly enjoy yourself and be able to grip whilst in the Apls and change gear ???? jesus you must have a high pain thresh hold… 😉
it’s sensible to see the doc b4 you go away….if it gets worse whilst your away-your pretty much stuffed… you may be lucky and get away with strapping it, but when you go to your docs he will only advise you to have it x-ray-ed…
the pro,s of the MTB world get lots of injurys and have to cancel trips …its the way of the world….lol ….do let us know how you get on ….friday… 😉

i quite like garden chief you mentioned…..’The Garden Chief’ sounds good to me or
‘for-get- me- not’ if it was my garden service …(sounds to female for you tho…
stick with ‘The Garden Chief’ 😉

i had a nasty fall from climbing a couple of years ago…. i had an x-ray but it didnt prove broken yet there was a hairline crack..it did hurt for a few days and went very stiff….. they decided to put a pot on it just incase…. 2 weeks later problem sorted. but i still had to wear a supporive glove for another two weeks.. 😀

hope you get it sorted one way or another for your trip..

just make my frame abit more shiney shiney…lol…its just a tub of mer wax car polish….u know that stuff you put on and leave for 5 mins then buff the paintwork…
im finding that the ‘green ‘shite off Hope’ bike cleaner is making my frame dull….. why is that ? ….

maybe you should have joined us on the Mary Towneley loop then : 47 miles…we actualy by- passed cragg quarry on the loop i wanted to take a detour whilst i was there…..lol..
why do you find the quarrys boring ? they are better on bone dry days when you can really get going….only we have typical british summer weather up ere… 😉 i quite like cragg quarry.. small but nice zippy singletrack stuff…xc trail stuff
*here it is for people who havent been there yet….

    :cry:hey i dint finish there…..
retailers just dont sell them cos there just ‘aint a market for them’.. :evil:thats what ive been told anyway… by various retailers… 😥 👿 fair enough they do have ‘waterproof (overpants) but its very hard to cycle properly in them…
its dam right sexist i think…theres lots of choice for men but hardly nowt for some of us hardier women… when you have a longer day in the saddle battling against the weather, it wud be nice just to keep your derrier abit drier…lol 😉
please someone out there make a ‘market’ for us outdoor women’…
they do exist…failing that i wonder if wetsuit shorts mite be an answer.. 😉
